A little flick of the wrist, a little drabble for all those Marvin simps.

You walked the same road to work everyday, same sidewalk, mundane concrete to the soul sucking corporate building that unfortunately paid your bills. The most colorful thing you ever encountered was either a piece of discarded gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe or the language of a couple fighting loudly in the street, blocking traffic. You learned to walk fast and with purpose, avoiding anyone and anything.
Until a flash of glitter catches your attention, genuinely getting you to stop. He moved with such grace, his cape and long green hair moving fluidly with his arms as he performed the magic tricks in the street. Children finding coins behind their ears, simple slight of hand, anyone could do it. But you caught his eyes, that bright blue drawing you in to stand off to the side, still intently watching his movements.
He chuckles, offering you a fanned out deck of cards.
“Pick a card, any card!”
You pick out one from the center, an ace of hearts. You hold it to your chest, the card shaking a little. He avoids your gaze, setting down the deck of cards. You could swear it was blush hiding under his cat mask, but maybe that’s just another one of his illusions…
He takes off his cape, putting his hair up, and rolls up his sleeves. His gentle hands underneath his gloves as he removes them, fingernails painted with the various suits, matching the ones on his mask.
“Let me guess, ye have t’e ace of hearts?”
“Ye- yes- how did you do that??”
“Ye stole my heart t’e moment we met eyes, been beatin’ out my chest t’is whole time…”
You look down at the card, the heart moving like it was beating, increasing in speed. You flush putting the card against your chest again.
“Would ye happen t’ also be free t’is evenin’~?”
He flicks his wrist, and out pops a bouquet of lilies. There’s nowhere it could’ve come from, until you notice the palms of his hands glowing a little bit.
“Y-yes, I’d love to see more of your tricks!”
“I’ll see ye tonight t’en~”
A small amount of sparkle appears from his fingers, and the card stops beating. You look down as you take the lilies, and see his phone number, signed “M”. You look back up, and he’s gone.
For his next trick, he’ll steal your heart right back.
Coz today -here- is magical catman day.
