when the new season of a tv show starts and suddenly everyone is wearing leather and latex for maximum drama

crazy hair to show the increase of a character’s unhingedness

those two-parters in 90s sitcoms where they’re like “surprise everyone! we’re all going to Disneyland, everyone including our neighbour who we don’t like and my son’s favourite high school teacher for some reason, yaaaaay!”

when between the pilot and the second episode the entire house changed, like “oh yeah we redecorated. some nicer colours, make it look more homely, also the front door is now on the east side”

the way even the poorest son of a bitch never wears the same outfit twice under punishment of death except when they’re having an affair and everyone around them imediately notices
