We have master diesel mechanics for Cummins, CAT, Maxxforce DT, Navistar and all other diesel engines at our truck shop in South Texas  !!! In the image we have a  Maxxforce DT diesel engine and our diesel mechanics are replacing electronic control module (ecm) in it  after troubleshooting electrical issues. The driver of this truck with Maxxforce DT diesel engine called in for a road service due to truck not turning on.  Driver thought he had a bad batteries. Road service came out and our diesel mechanic found that truck had bigger issues.  Truck got towed in shop. After troubleshooting electric harness, we had to open truck harness to make sure a broken wire was not making the electronic control module (ecm) not connect to truck.  Diesel mechanic found a bad ecm on engine.  We were able to order ecm for next day. Computer replacement are very expensive so we need to make sure the ecm is the problem before ordering.  We got this truck going within three business days. After a test drive with the driver, the diesel mechanic could feel a loss of power, slower on accelerations, and difficulty in maintaining high speed. Another sign that your turbo is going bad is grey or blue smoke coming from the exhaust system, engine light on dash, oil burning, or dramatic decrease in fuel economy. As we start troubleshooting, We make sure to check the air filter and crankcase filter for proper flow, we also check the exhaust system. We opened the hose that goes to the turbo and found the turbo turbine wheel bearing bad. Turbo can be rebuilt but most customers replace them completely. Turbo has a turbine wheel and turbo housing. Housing guides the exhaust gas into the turbine wheel, gas exits the turbine housing though exhaust outlet.
