Hey peixinhos lindos, eu estou nas duas ultimas semanas de aula da faculdade, então eu resolvi vir aqui em busca de alguns plots, se alguma alma linda por ai quiser jogar algo comigo eu vou deixar aqui minha page de bunnies e vou deixar alguns mais específicos a baixo de RM, mas se você tiver algo seu também pra gente jogar eu topo quase tudo. Um plot de casamento indiano, tradicionalmente arranjado e tudo mais, um lance quase Maya e Raj onde eles se conhecem pouco antes do casamento e acabam virando amigos depois disso e bem, pode ou não surgir um amor;

Um plot onde um assassino profissional acaba se apaixonando por uma prostituta com quem mantem um caso, porem ela acaba se tornando amante oficial de um homem influente (simplesmente por questões financeiras) e ainda sim eles continuam a se encontrar escondido porque não ficam um sem o outro;

Esse aqui é o mais estranho, seria um ship de do Loki e da Elsa, sim, a rainha Elsa de Frozen, enfim, a historia seria basicamente o Loki faz alguma merda e acaba preso em Arendelle, a questão é que bem na hora em que ele cai a rainha Elsa estaria sozinha andando fora das dependências do castelo, ele ajuda ela de alguma forma e ela como agradecimento oferece estadia no castelo, obviamente ele ve ali uma boa oportunidade pra algumas coisas por conta de ela ser uma rainha e ter os poderes e tudo mais, e enfim, ta confuso, eu sei, mas se você quiser eu explico melhor no chat;

Um tradicional anjo/demonio ou anjo/humano (m/m);

E por ultimo eu adoraria fazer algo que envolvesse um jornalista e um detetive de policia, o jornalista seria aqueles insistentes que ficam o tempo todo atrás da policia pra saber detalhes sobre crimes, aqueles bem chatos mesmo, e o detetive vive tentando afastar ele, mas em algum momento eles acabam se envolvendo por qualquer motivo e fica essa relação complicada porque eles ainda querem colocar suas profissões em primeiro lugar (m/m).

South Asian Opera Singers

Opera singers who are from South Asia (Indian subcontinent) are incredibly rare, and in operas that are set in South Asia and have South Asian characters (Lakmé, set in India, or the British Raj, and Les pêcheurs de perles, set in Sri Lanka), those Indian characters are almost always played by white European opera singers. However, after digging deep, I managed to find some South Asian opera singers. Of course, this list isn’t very complete, so if anyone knows about anymore, please feel free to add on!

Sean Panikkar (Sri Lankan-American): He’s an operatic tenor who has worked with the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Fort Worth Opera, and Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. He’s portrayed the characters of Rodolfo from Puccini’s La bohème, and Tybalt from Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. The above photo is of him as Nadir from Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles (The Pearl Fishers) with the Fort Worth Opera, and the above video is of his performance as Tamino from Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) with the New Orleans Opera. He’s perhaps the first Sri Lankan tenor to play Nadir.

Maya Kherani (Indian-American): She’s a coloratura soprano who played the role of Meera in the world premiere of Jack Perla’s River of Light with the Houston Grand Opera in 2014. Other roles include Marie from Donizetti’s La fille du régiment and Gilda from Verdi’s Rigoletto. She’s soon to star in the West Edge Opera’s production of Britomarte’s L’arbore di Diana. The above video is her recital performance of ‘Credete al mio dolore’ from Handel’s Alcina.

Kishani Jayasinghe (Sri Lankan-British): A Sri Lankan-British soprano from Colombo, she is the first South Asian soprano to sing as a soloist in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden and at Buckingham Palace, where sang at Prince Charles’ 60th birthday with the Royal Opera House, and has been awarded with the Grand Prix and Audience Prize in Marmade, France. She is also the first Sri Lankan soprano to play the role of priestess Leïla in Les pêcheurs de perles with the Nederlandse Reisopera in 2015. Other roles include Mimi from La bohème, Rusalka from Dvorak’s Rusalka, and Violetta from Verdi’s La traviata. The above video is her recital performance of the Jewel Song from Gounod’s Faust.

Nikhil Navkal (Indian-American): Hailing from Massachusetts, he is also one of the few South Asian tenors to portray Nadir in Les pêcheurs de perles, this time with Opera Australia. He has also portrayed the roles of Don Ramiro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola and Tebaldo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi. The above video is of him performing a Rossini quartet along with Karin Laine, Caroline Tye, and Kofi Hayford.

Alok Kumar (Indian-American): Another Indian tenor, he performed the role of Chyavana in the world premiere of Ravi Shankar’s opera Sukanya. He’s also performed the roles of the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s Rigoletto with Palm Beach Opera, Alfredo in Verdi’s La traviata with Baltimore Concert Opera, Don José in Bizet’s Carmen with Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre, and Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth with the Opera Company of Middlebury. Unfortunately, I could not find any videos of his performances.

Danielle de Niese (Australian-American, Sri Lankan Burgher): A Sri Lankan Burgher lyric soprano, not only has she sung with the Metropolitan Opera and Covent Garden, but she’s sung in Ridley Scott’s Hannibal, won an Emmy Award at 16 years of age, and even performed with rapper LL Cool J. She is most famous for her role as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare at Glyndebourne Festival Opera in 2005. Other roles include Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Rosina from Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, and Musetta from La bohème. The above video is her performance of V’adoro pupille from Giulio Cesare.

Dream Girl Film Review

Want to know about the Film Review Dream Girl ? Dream Girl’ is the story of Karamveer, a man who possesses the ability to sound like a sweet voiced woman. So, when he is down with debt, and gets an opportunity to work in a special call centre that caters to needs of lonely(read desperate) men and also women looking for company he strikes golden, and becomes Pooja. Pooja is great at conversation and quickly becomes popular with the customers. Eventually, the clients fall in lovewith Pooja. But, soon, the lives of his many lovers (including his own father and fiancée’s brother) begin to interest and a commotion follows.

Let’s begin with the statement that Bollywood’s comedies are usually insulting to the common sense of the average person. This is also because comedy is difficult to understand as a genre in any form of art. So, Bollywood and as a result its regular audience feels that being funny is equivalent to being insulting towards anyone less powerful. Bollywood therefore generates what we generally call ‘leave-your-brains-at-home’ comedy.

But, it feels great to be part of the audience that gets to witness cinema changing in a way that a man responsible for the comedy in films like ‘Jabariya Jodi’ and stars like ‘Sudesh Lahiri’ are also writing comedies like ‘Dream Girl’. The film isn’t free from the stereotypes and insults or from the masculine narration that we have seen in Raaj Shaandilyaa so far but it is better comedy.

Dialogues like the two-pronged ‘Karam hi Pooja hai’ or the Pooja azaan nikli’ generated massive laughter and not the kind where some might feel uncomfortable. There are some really smart one-liners that enable the audience to laugh at itself in good humor.

There are surprising tributes like Anu Kapoor dressing like and alluding to the Rahul of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, or ‘Baby Doll’ or ‘Oh La La, Oh La La’ being played in the background (both Balaji Films Productions). All of these allusions are fun to spot and don’t take away from the narrative.

The film starts creating humor out of the ever-present ‘Band’ outside Karam’s house playing out popular tunes according to the moods of the characters, somewhat like ‘Maya Memsaab’, but the film forgets about it half-way and I feel, losses an opportunity.

The Meet Bros and Abhishek Arora give us an average albumwith party songs like Jonita Gandhi and Nakash Aziz’s ‘Dil Ka Telephone’ and ‘Radhe Radhe’ by Meet Bros.

Also, thank you for not giving us an ‘item song’. ‘Dhagala Lagali’ is a high energy ‘promotional song’ and is supposed to be a replacement for the ‘Punjabi Rap’ that is the trend in Bollywood’s present times.

THE STORY is new and fresh on the surface but, the age old tale of a man going about his life in the world of other men in essence. But, yes, the story is well told! Stories and ideas and music, etc together make a film and to recognize this fact in Bollywood, where gods are made out of celebrities, is worth noting.

Ayushmann Khurrana seems to believe in the medium of the story, the role of the director, the power of an idea, and has time and again shown an artist’s courage of being part of films that were a risk and for that alone he deserves a mention.

He is wonderful in the film, and while several actors like Ritesh Deshmukh and Govinda have been cross dressers in films before, Ayushmann Khurrana’s character isn’t a cross-dresser, nor does the film explore this idea or the idea of sexuality (despite Nidhi Bisht’s character also falling for Pooja), he is just a man with the ability to sound like a woman and he is entertaining in every bit of it. Anu Kapoor(Karam’sfather and Pooja’s lover) is extremely funny throughout the film, Vijay Raaz (lover no. 1) is extremely entertaining with his ‘shayari’ but his character tries to generate humor with the stereotypical idea of the ‘afflicted husband’. Nidhi Bisht (lover no. 2) could have been very funny instead of being very loud has a comic character been written for her.

Manjot Singh gives an effortlessly funny performance. Raj Bhansali (lover no.3) and Abhishek Banerjee (lover no. 4) are a delight to watch. Nushrat Barucha’s Mahi does nothing for the film because somehow women aren’t comic characters in Bollywood. Hope you liked the film review dream girl. PARSIPPANY — The Parsippany Hills High School Class of 2018 graduated on Thursday, June 21. 273 students received their diplomas after the Conferment of the Degrees by Principal Michael F. DiSanto. The diploma’s were presented to the Board of Education.

196 students, or 72% will be attending four year College or University, 50 students or 18% will be attending two year colleges, 3 students or 1.5% will be attending career education, 7 students or 2% will be continuing education, 8 students for 2.5% will be employed, 5 students or 2% will be taking a gap year and 4 students, or 1.5% will be joining the military.
