In the last 2 days, I've now abandoned:

Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari - I'm sure this Manoj Bajpayee-starrer would eventually pick up (he's too good for it not to, right?), but just not in the mood for what the first 20-30 minutes showed. Funny moments, but it wasn't funny. And the typical trope of girl that conservative at home but modern away from home, while probably very really in many cases, is just overdone. And it's always the same.

Tanhaji - This is supposed to be a good movie. But, I don't know. The first 20-30 minutes was so much CGI (some of it, like the elephant scene, with good reason) and looked so fake, and it was impossible to get into the story.

Cloud Cuckoo Land - Anthony Doerr is excellent with words, no doubt, and the back-of-book review stating "gorgeous language" is pretty accurate. However, I got 170 pages into the 570 page book and, like, what is supposed to be happening? There's numerous interwoven storylines set in different time periods, and then on top of that, some of the storylines (as separated by the presence of a different main character) further go back-and-forth in their own timelines as well. Very confusing. And while I'm sure this all builds to something - not necessarily dramatic, as in a huge twist that you would get in a good thriller movie, but a more slow drama (I don't know - I guess at some point, there has to be something where the stories converge, right?) - I just can't get that far. I haven't been able to get into this at all, with not much of anything happening, and we're 2.5 weeks into the attempt at this point.

I may be in a slight rut. And I may have just destroyed the momentum I was starting to build on watching Bollywood movies ... again. I mean, I did find Chaalis Chauraasi yesterday after quitting SPMB, but I don't know if that was enough to stall a rut (even though I did mostly enjoy that movie).

On the plus side, I rediscovered 'Tere Pyar Mein Main Marjaavan' from the Ajay Devgn/Arshad Warsi/Neha/Mayuri Kango-starrer Hogi Pyaar Ki Jeet, and that song has been playing essentially non-stop on a loop for the past 2 days.
