So I discovered Mazus pumilus (common name Japanese Mazus) in my yard, and this is an invasive species where I live. However they are pretty, and I have recently been looking into making closed terrariums. I have what I need, but was looking into flowers/plants that would work well in them for a gift, so I figured if I had to uproot these wildflowers I might as well see if they would work for what I was looking for.
The result? My first two closed (tester) terrariums! Complete with a few springtails I was breeding and a control to make sure the uprooting isn't a problem.

In order from left to right is my control, single plant tester, and diverse plant tester. Below is a picture of the plants before uprooting to show you how pretty they are in better detail.

I'm hoping they do well in the terrariums. Perhaps I'll keep people updated if I think about it or am sent an ask.
