Quote
Neoliberal psychopolitics seduces the soul; it preempts it in lieu of opposing it. It carefully protocols desires, needs and wishes instead of ‘depatterning’ them. By means of calculated prognoses, it anticipates actions – and acts ahead of them instead of cancelling them out. Neoliberal psychopolitics is SmartPolitics: it seeks to please and fulfil, not to repress.
Byung-chul Han, Psychopolitics

hmm since Clary also has the scar from having contact with an angel, do you think all of Clace's kids will inherit it? like will it stop being the "one of our ancestors fucked in a cave" scar & start being the "our ancestors were child experiments" scar?

behold my very biased and arguably baseless list of where I think BHol’s characters fall on the Kinsey Scale:
The Corinthian: 3. Comics Corinthian is another matter, but the one Holbrook plays?? This man nightmare is pannnn
Cap Hatfield: X. I am always of the completely unfounded belief that Cap would very much like to roam in the woods and occasionally jerk off to nature sounds and have nothing to do sexually with anyone thankyouverymuch
Clement Mansell: 2. Yeah, he’s mostly into women. Yeah, he also does sometimes go out to get his dick sucked at a glory hole. He has cruised before. He actively is nursing a big crush on Raylan Givens.
Quinn McKenna: 1. Yes, he’s into women. Yes, at a certain point a hole is a hole. (And hey, good soldiers give their brothers-in-arms a helping hand in exchange! Only fair.) Firm believer that what happens in the desert stays in the desert.
Klaber: 5. Idk why, but I get mostly single-target sexuality vibes from this dude, and he seems laser focused on his boss
Ty Shaw: 3. This baby is just so wildly down! He gives off the exuberant touchy-feely vibes of a golden retriever bisexual who’s finally gotten to go to his first pride parade and the gays are liquoring him up. He’s totally surprised girlfriends by being hella down for MFM threesomes
Cal: 5. I would’ve said a 6, but apparently he checks out a girl in Bikeriders, so he gets bumped down! But. The single earring?? The fact that he’s a California transplant?? Holbrook’s interview where he says that Cal’s afforded some leeway on certain things because he’s the mechanic?? Gayyyy
Donald Pierce: 5. Holbrook based his accent and mannerisms off of the famously gay Tennessee Williams, and he ain’t one bit subtle with his crush on Logan. But also canonically involved with Gabriela Lopez! Basically confirmed: Pierce is mostly into men but demisexual for the right girl.
Steve Murphy: 6. This boy is so deep in the closet Javier Peña really ought to launch a rescue mission. Him flashing lovestruck eyes at his partner and then coming home and basically giving Connie a respectful head nod?? He has made a career of sublimating his queer desires into being the very bestest DEA agent ever. He might actually have a heart attack if a man kissed his cheek.

thinks really hard about Joy Of Remembrance - Celeste [Farewell] OST bc. it opens with such a flourish, in an almost feathery soundfont not quite like what you'd heard leading into it, the violin setting up the primary melody... and then the backing track kicks in and its almost discordant. not quite, but its enough to be Jarring. like some sort of stumble. and it keeps that dissonance, keeps that feeling as though its hastily pushing several different discolored pieces into the same track, struggling to make them fit, harmonize-- through pretty much the entire track.
the clashing of the high violin and the more chiptune-esque lead, each one almost trying to overwhelm the other parts all at once. but then when it quiets down just before the loop, the more somber strings feel almost like some sort of parting in the clouds-- not a mark of clarity, but one of something that lies underneath the hastily spilled coats of paint.
its trying desperately to be a declaration of openness and understanding, but that Cant be what it is (re: madeline's denial and stubbornness pushing forward). a loud, beautiful piece that Wants to be something it isnt-- actively pushing down the realization of what it Actually stands for. the dawning understanding something is terribly wrong, but simply excusing it as something else, overwriting it with a reality you can more easily swallow.
pushing for the answer she Wants rather than the answer she Needs.
gotta catch that bird.

‘Instruments’
The ongoing series, which currently comprises more than 200 works, disregards the one-foot rectangle in favor of a playfully diverse array of shapes. Semi-circles stretch like a croissant, ends expand into wide, asymmetric forms, and a segment stretching just a few inches breaks free from the rest of the metal tool.
While the pieces in Instruments take on impractical shapes and proportions, the individual inked lines and numbers remain relatively uniform, evoking the systemized nature of a typical ruler.

I’m actually so mad that accidentally knocking a packing tape dispenser against my knuckle gave me chronic joint pain triggered by repeated or intensive bending of the joint. It’s just very annoying to have permanent joint damage from an incredibly minor injury that just happened to be in the wrong place

I've never really put much attention to it because the majority of the content I have always engaged with is either in arabic /darija/ italian (which are my native languages) or english (which I'm fluent in) or french and spanish that I can understand to a decent extent, so I can fill the gap whenever google translate doesn't get it.
Only now, trying to translate tweets in a language I absolutely have 0 knowledge in as turkish, I'm really realising how utter shit google translate is. And it's kind of frustrating because it's not this shit with english or french or spanish or italian. If this is not political I don't know what it is. There's no linguistics explanation as to why this tool only works decent with just a bunch of "powerful" european languages

Slowly but surely, my hands ARE unsyncing on the accordion! I started with just playing the 1st and 5th on the right hand, which meant that though the two hands were moving on the same beats, the right hand didn’t ALWAYS move when the left hand did* -- also, they didn’t necessarily move in the same direction. I’m fairly comfortable with this now, and I’m trying to move on to melodies, which before I could not do at ALL. Now, I can play (somewhat accurately) play melodies with the right hand, as long as the beats perfectly subdivide into 2 with the accompaniment lol. So if I’m doing quarter notes with left hand, I can do a melody consisting of eight notes through whole notes, but a dotted eight is, as of yet, beyond my capabilities
*for those who don’t know how an accordion is set up (presumably most of you?) -- some columns of buttons on the left hand side are single notes, and some are chords, and each row is a 5th higher than the one below. so let’s say you want to play the tonic, chord, 5th, chord progression that’s the classic accordion sound for D minor, you (and by “you”, I mean “I”, it’s possible other people do it differently?) place one finger on the D button, one on the A button (which is directly above the D button), and one on the D minor button, which is in the same row as the D button. Did that make any sense lol? The point is that when I’m only playing 1st and 5th on the right hand, they hit the keys at the same time as the left hand hits the 1st and 5th, but they stay still when the left hand is hitting the chord button. When I started playing, even this was tricky for me! Not sure why this was so much more difficult than, say, piano, with which I never had this problem -- though to be honest, I feel like it might just be an age thing rather than any particular quality of the instrument. It might just be much harder to unsync once you age out of some critical period. Though there’s also the fact that with accordion you’re pulling it side to side, which is an extra factor -- at the beginning, I struggled to unsync my wrist from the fingers of the same hand lol. i feel like this is an extremely unclear explanation for anyone who isn’t already pretty familiar with the set-up of an accordion, the point is i’m making progress and i’m pleased with that :)
