They had a little oopsie and melted their face off. And then kept compulsively picking at their grafts until the flesh could no longer be salvaged and they got a more mechanical prosthetic in the end. (Might still give them the ability to taste things though... I guess they've suffered enough.)

KA got pretty fucked up about it understandably and got taken off the pilot program, now they're assisting with repairs, being an apprentice of sorts. Even though they enjoy it, they still long to be back in the pilots seat. Tends to give a lot of unsolicited advice to pilots n still act like team leader at times.

first: how I envision KA parenting Jewel later down the line. KAs but a humble leatherdyke, they cant let their kid off into the world looking like some fratboy schmuck!! (yes they do both look A LOT alike, KA hates it uwu)

third is some more KA n baby Jules, feat also newly turned vamp au where KA is trying soooo hard not to kill and devour their entire family. But God it would be SO easy.

fourth: guest appearance by the Advocate :3 also from mechpilot au. She really wants to show u her fushigi tricks, come closer.
