From my collection, rarest of rare article studded with the information of popular stars including #MeenaKumari , #SunilDutt , #Nutan , #MahendraKapoor & #PrithvirajKapoor .

Meena Kumari was invited as the guest of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon at the Sarasaviya Sinhala Film Festival held at Colombo, Ceylon ( renamed as Sri Lanka in 1972 ). Here, rare pictures of Meena ji can be seen where she looks absolutely ethereal in the traditional Kandyan Sari inspite of her liver ailment which was at it's peak. Due to her indifferent health, she elected to not to do any sight-seeing. Though she spared the time and couldn't resist to visit the prime attraction "Zoo" where she christened an eight-months old elephant as Iqbal in the loving memory of her beloved mother Iqbal Bano.

जयंती विशेष: ट्रेजेडी क्वीन मीना कुमारी को पैदा होते ही अनाथालय की सीढ़ियों पर छोड़ आये थे पिता, झेल चुकी हैं 'तीन तलाक' का दर्द!

चैतन्य भारत न्यूज गुजरे दौर की मशहूर अदाकारा मीना कुमारी की आज जयंती है। लोग मीना कुमारी को ट्रेजडी क्वीन से लेकर सिंड्रेला तक के नाम से जानते हैं। इन्हें खासकर दुखांत फिल्म में उनकी यादगार भूमिकाओं के लिये याद किया जाता है। जन्मदिन के इस खास मौके पर जानते हैं इस खूबसूरत अदाकारा के जीवन के बारे में कुछ अनसुनी बातें।

मीना कुमारी का जन्म 1 अगस्त को दादर (मुंबई) में हुआ था। उनका असली नाम महजबीं बानो था। मीना कुमारी का बचपन से लेकर जवानी दुखों से भरा रहा इसलिए इन्हें ट्रेजडी क्वीन भी कहा जाने लगा। 1 अगस्त 1932 को मुंबई में एक क्लीनिक के बाहर मास्टर अली बक्श नाम का एक शख्स बड़ी बेसब्री से अपनी तीसरी औलाद के जन्म का इंतजार कर रहा था। दो बेटियों के जन्म लेने के बाद वह इस बात की दुआ कर रहे थे कि अल्लाह इस बार बेटे का मुंह दिखा दे। तभी अंदर से बेटी होने की खबर आई तो वह माथा पकड़ कर बैठ गए। मास्टर अली बख्श ने तय किया कि वह बच्ची को घर नहीं ले जाएंगे और वह बच्ची को अनाथालय छोड़ आये लेकिन बाद में उनकी पत्नी के आंसुओं ने बच्ची को अनाथालय से घर लाने के लिये उन्हें मजबूर कर दिया। बच्ची का चांद सा माथा देखकर उसकी मां ने उसका नाम रखा ‘माहजबीं’। बाद में यही माहजबीं फिल्म इंडस्ट्री में मीना कुमारी के नाम से मशहूर हुई।

मीना कुमारी ने बेहद कम उम्र में ही घर का सारा बोझ अपने कंधों पर उठा लिया था। सात साल की उम्र से ही वो फिल्मों में काम करने लगीं थीं। वे बेबी मीना के नाम से पहली बार फिल्म ‘फरज़द-ए-हिंद’ में दिखीं। इसके बाद लाल हवेली, अन्नपूर्णा, सनम, तमाशा आदि कई फिल्में कीं। लेकिन उन्हें स्टार बनाया 1952 में आई फिल्म ‘बैजू बावरा’ ने। इस फिल्म के बाद वह लगातार सफलता की सीढियां चढ़ती गईं। ‘बैजू बावरा’ ने मीना कुमारी को बेस्ट एक्ट्रेस का फिल्मफेयर अवॉर्ड भी दिलवाया। वह यह अवॉर्ड पाने वाली पहली अभिनेत्री थीं।

जन्म से लेकर अंतिम घड़ी तक मीना कुमारी ने दुख ही दुख झेला। मीना कुमारी और कमाल अमरोही की शादी के किस्से भी बड़े दिलचस्प हैं। लेकिन, उनके रिश्ते कभी मधुर नहीं रहे। कमाल अमरोही जब ‘पाकीज़ा’ बना रहे थे, तब वो बुरी तरह आर्थिक संकट में फंस गए थे। मीना ने अपनी सारी कमाई देकर पति की मदद की। इसके बावजूद इस फिल्म के दौरान दोनों के संबंध लगातार खराब हो गए। नौबत तलाक तक पहुंच गई थी।

किसी बात पर कमाल इतना गुस्सा हो गए उन्होंने तीन बार 'तलाक' बोलकर मीना को अकेला छोड़ दिया था। कहा जाता है कि बाद में कमाल को इस बात पर काफी पछतावा हुआ। जिसके बाद उन्होंने मीना कुमारी से दोबारा निकाह करना चाहा। लेकिन धार्मिक नियम के अनुसार पत्नी से तलाक के बाद उसी से दोबारा निकाह मुमकिन नहीं था। जिसके चलते मीना कुमारी को दोबारा निकाह के लिए अमान उल्ला खान (जीनत अमान के पिता) से निकाह करना पड़ा। एक महीने बाद जब अमान से मीना का तलाक हुआ तब अमरोही ने उन्हें दोबारा अपनाया। हालांकि मीना कुमारी के जीवन पर लिखी गई किताब में 'तलाक' और 'हलाला' की बात का नकारा गया है। यह किताब राइटर जर्नलिस्ट विनोद मेहता ने लिखी थी।

मीना कुमारी की तबीयत भी खराब रहने लगी थी। पैसे भी नहीं थे। मीना कुमारी बहुत बीमार हो गईं थीं। पाकीज़ा कमाल अमरोही की महत्वाकांक्षी फिल्म थी, लेकिन वो इसे आगे नहीं बढ़ा पा रहे थे। सुनील दत्त और नर्गिस के कहने पर वर्षों बाद इसकी शूटिंग शुरू हुई। मीना कुमारी तलाक के बाद भी कमाल अमरोही की इस फिल्म का हिस्सा बनी रहीं। 14 साल बाद 4 फरवरी, 1972 को फिल्म पर्दे पर आई। तब तक मीना की हालत काफी बिगड़ गई थी। बीमारी की हालत में भी वह लगातार फिल्में कर रही थीं, लेकिन रोग असाध्य हो गया था। अंतत: 31 मार्च 1972 को लिवर सिरोसिस के चलते मीना कुमारी ने दुनिया को अलविदा कह दिया। Read the full article
