“Begitu membaca beritanya pagi tadi, saya minta bu Sabrina, Sekdaprovsu menangani soal Meimeris Tumanggor itu dan sore nanti dia ke Penang, termasuk juga bagian hukum kita sertakan untuk tangani masalah hukumnya,” ujar Gubsu menjawab Ketua PWI Sumut Hermansjah, Minggu (25/8) di acara pernikahan putri Prof Dr. OK Saidin di MICC Ringroad Medan.

Gubsu juga menyampaikan ucapan terimakasih kepada Bu Putri WN Malaysia serta NGO Permai serta para pihak yang menjembatani dalam hal ini Ketua PWI Sumut sehingga kabar soal Meimeris Tumanggor ini sampai ke Sumut melalui pemberitaan.

Sebagaimana diketahui Ketua PWI Sumut Hermansjah, Sabtu (24/8) malam dikabari Bu Putri yang memiliki jaringan bisnis di Medan soal nasib Meimeris Tumanggor yang dibuang majikannya WN Malaysia keturunan India di halaman KJRI Penang saat menderita sakit.

Meimeris ditemukan anggota Perkumpulan Persatuan Masyarakat Indonesia di Malaysia (Permai) Utara yang kemudian membawa ke rumah sakit kerajaan di Penang.

Meimeris Tumanggor sebagaimana diinformasikan bekerja di Penang sudah sejak tiga tahun yang lalu. Pekerja wanita malang yang menderita TB itu bekerja di satu sekolah di kawasan Bukit Martajam, Penang, Malaysia dengan seorang WN Malaysia keturunan India namun tidak pernah diberi gaji selama tiga tahun bekerja sampai Meimeris jatuh sakit.

Anehnya saat menderita sakit bukan malah diobati tapi dibuang ke KJRI. Soal Gaji dijanjikan WN Keturunan India itu baru diberikan bila Ia pulang ke Indonesia. Saat dibuang ke KJRI Meimeris Tumanggor cuma diberi uang RM 1300. TKI Wanita itu bekerja di Malaysia atas jasa satu agen yg hingga saat ini menahan pasport dan surat surat penting lain miliknya.

Berita soal TKI Wanita yang Malang itu tersebar luas di media online dan cetak jaringan PWI-SMSI Sumut, bukan saja di Medan, tapi juga sampai ke Malaysia sehingga mengundang simpati warga Sumut di negeri seberang.

Ditugasi Gubsu

Secara terpisah Sekdaprovsu Dr. Ir. Hj R. Sabrina M.Si ketika dihubungi melalui telpon membenarkan dia ditugasi gubernur untuk menangani TKI Wanita yang Malang itu.

“Petang nanti saya berangkat ke Penang, dan sudah juga melaporkan serta menghubungi pihak Kemenlu dan KJRI Penang terkait masalah menimpa Meimeris Tumanggor,” ujar Dr Sabrina sembari menjelaskan dia sudah mendapat informasi terkait persoalan menimpa Meimeris Tumanggor yang sebenarnya sudah ditangani pihak KJRI Penang namun entah apa penyebabnya TKW itu menghindar dan malah dibawa ke Hospital Kerajaan di Penang.

Sabrina yang pernah menjabat di berbagai jabatan penting menyampaikan ucapan terimakasih kepada NGO Permai, karena sudah membantu TKI asal Sumut itu meski sebenarnya kalau sebelumnya diserahkan ke KJRI Memeris Tumanggor seharusnya sudah bisa dipulangkan waktu itu karena pihak KJRI juga sudah menyiapkan pengganti paspor Meimeris dan bisa dirawat di kampungnya.

Terpisah anggota NGO Permai Penang, Saipul ketika dihubungi menyampaikan ucapan terimakasih Setinggi-tingginya kepada “Ayah Edy” demikian Saipul memanggil akrab Eddy Rahmayadi Gubernur Sumatera Utara yang cepat tanggap menangani masalah TKI teraniaya ini. (ts-02)

Happy Monday <3 Say five things that make you happy and then, if you want to, send this to the first ten people in your activity!

The day is now Thursday but any day is a good day to share some happiness so here we go!

Novelty mugs. Today I am rocking a mug shaped like a unicorn and it brings everyone who sees it a little spark of joy. I like adding a bit of whimsy and fun to the lives of the people around me.

When people send me things they saw that made them think of me. It warms my heart to know that I continue to exist in people’s lives even when I am not with them. Also it’s usually really absurd things that I am sent and I like knowing that people associate me with that.

Taking walks in the rain. There are a couple specific trails that make this very fun but walking in the rain straight up drives my imagination wild and I become nine years old again halfway acting out all the dramatic scenes in my mind! I look like a dumbass but there is no one to see me because everyone is inside buildings hiding from the weather!! I love rain!!!

Making small gestures of affection! I love to do little things for people to let them know I care, to let them know that someone is paying attention. I am the person who will take your car to run an errand just so I can fill up the gas tank or who will go fetch more of that snack food you love when I notice you’re running out. I will randomly bake your favorite treat or bring you the coffee you always get when you seem like you need a boost. There is no feeling in the world like the way people glow when you do something very small that makes them feel cared for in a very big way!!

Pets. I feel like this one is self-explanatory but I love everyone’s pets. All of them. I love your weird bird and my anxious dog and that dude’s chill lizard. I love pets. I love to hear the stories about them and see the pictures of them. I love to see the way people love their pets!! The fondness with which pet owners will describe how their animal companions wreaked several hundred dollars worth of destruction to their homes and belongings is incredible.

Here you go @lwsupremacy; ask and I shall deliver. My own questionnaire answered for my DND character, Nykaris Nalva! This was not the character I was thinking about when I started wondering about these things but it was fun to think about and I feel like I learned some things about Nyx I didn’t know before.

What do you most admire about your OC? Which quality of theirs do you really respect and/or wish you had more of in your own character? I admire Nyx’s drive. She has a clear vision of the life she wants to have and she pursues it relentlessly. She doesn’t stop to ask herself if she’s capable of getting it or if she deserves to have it. She just goes after it. She doesn’t always know how to get it and she has failed at a lot of the things she’s tried, and even though that bothers her, she doesn’t let it stop her. And if the best path to what she wants is something that terrifies her or something she isn’t sure she’s capable of, she doesn’t let that stop her either. She takes risks in pursuit of her goals and takes failures and obstacles and self-doubt in stride, even though she feels them deeply, and that is a quality I really wish I had a little more of.

What do you think your OC might admire about you? Nyx would respect how much more comfortable I am in my own skin than she is. As much as I admire her drive, the things she is driven to pursue come from a place of insecurity and a childish need to be special and stand out. Those are both feelings I’ve experienced and more or less dealt with already. The things I pursue, I pursue because it’s what I want and like and value, not because I have something to prove. That’s a place Nyx would like to reach someday, though she wouldn’t admit to it right now.

What is a belief of your OCs or something they did that they think is right and/or justified but you think is wrong? I should probably say something about all the killing, but in Nyx’s defense she is bad enough at combat that she has actually killed very few people, and most of those she’s fought have had it coming. Her party is surprisingly pretty good at turning violent situations nonviolent. Not usually for noble reasons, but their actions are good even if their motivations often aren’t. Nyx does a lot of right things for wrong reasons, so I don’t actually take that much issue with many of her actions. I do disagree strongly with how blithely she lies to, tricks, and manipulates people she claims to care about and trust. I also disagree strongly with how she relates to most of her family, letting her own internal bullshit create a distance and bitterness they don’t really deserve. Also she’s quite selfish. She is happy to let other people do her work for her and take risks and hits so she doesn’t have to. She never loses a wink of sleep over it and figures as long as she isn’t forcing anyone into anything, it’s completely ethical. Sometimes I think she could justify it to herself even if she was forcing them. *casts a skeptical eye to her collection of charm spells*

What is something your OC believes about themselves that isn’t true? Alternately, what is something they just don’t realize about themselves??? Could be positive or negative or, like most things, both. Nyx believes in her heart that she is special. She thinks she has some kind of innate superiority to other people and, even though she doesn’t quite believe in fate (yet; she’s definitely on the path to it), she does think that her innate superiority is going to lead her down a spectacular path to a destiny only she could achieve. It’s very childish and not at all true. (As far as I know. It can be hard to tell with DND characters.) She does have an exceptionally clear vision of her goals and an exceptional drive to achieve them. The choices she has made have led her down an exceptional path. But none of that is the result of some superiority of spirit and mind and character that she was just born with. She’s just a person like any other who has had a fortunate (maybe; we’ll see) combination of luck, opportunity, and good (again, this is yet to be determined) decisions. What does your OC like most about themselves? What do they most wish they could change about themselves??? Nyx really treasures her ability to get what she wants from people and also mysterious and powerful entities with the ability to gift her with magical powers. She doesn’t have a lot of skills of her own, but she’s got a great gift for using other people and making their hard work and talent look like a credit to herself somehow. She’s considers it being resourceful and clever and she is very proud of it. If she could change anything about herself, it would be to make her capable of performing nerd magic. She never especially wanted to be a wizard until she found out that she couldn’t, and now her pride demands that she must find a way. If her whole perfectly pleasant yet painfully average family can do nerd spells, what does it say about her that she, with all her innate superiority, cannot?

5. What would their recruitment mission be? It’s an ordinary sort of day in your extraordinary level 30 life. You’re just doing your thing, fighting crime, doing crime, rescuing random people and murdering somewhat less random people. You’re headed to Alderaan for your own reasons.

That’s when you get a call from whoever it is that’s always calling you with problems that only you can solve. From whoever usually preaches to you about duty, who gives you orders or threatens your life or just offers you good old-fashioned credits in exchange for your services, like any sensible person would. There’s a problem, they tell you. (There’s always a problem.) It’s a mission gone sideways, a crashed ship with a not entirely inconsequential Jedi on board who may or may not have gone rogue. Information is scarce, danger is guaranteed, and the problem is on Alderaan where the political situation is too unstable for any big, bold moves.

You take the job. It’s already on your way, and besides, you see potential in it. Potential good, potential credits, potential prestige. The potential to quiet your insatiable bloodlust, however temporarily. Whatever it is you’re looking for.

The Republic bosses want answers. What happened to the ship? To the mission? To the Jedi? They want you to bring her back into the fold if you can. They don’t say what to do if you can’t, but you can guess. The Imperial bosses want an edge. They want whatever was on that ship, but mostly they want the Jedi. She’s a thorn in the Imperial side and if they can’t make use of her, if she hasn’t fallen like rumor suggests, they want her out of the way.

Maybe you ask what the ship’s mission was, what the Jedi was even doing there. Maybe you know better than to ask questions. Regardless, the only information you get is a name.

Nirea Velaran.

A human woman, physically formidable for her species and notoriously unpredictable. She’s good with words and better with lightsabers and ‘dangerous’ is the only thing anyone will say about her for sure. That, and she’s Corellian.

It’s not the profile you’re used to for Jedi. Maybe that peaks your curiosity. Maybe it worries you. Maybe a job is a job and you don’t give a fuck about the details.

On Alderaan you follow the columns of smoke to a small lake nestled between snow-capped peaks, an oasis that might have been peaceful before a small frigate blew a crater into the mountain. The ship is split down the middle, its innards scattered across the ice. You don’t see any bodies, but your scanners detect something alive and moving in the wreckage.

You find a scavver in the remains of the ship’s engine room, greasy and poorly-clothed, elbow deep in the ship’s hyperdrive. The only weapon you can see is a shock stick that’s seen better days, leaning against the wall on the other side of the room.

She’s unconcerned by you and your armed companions. Asks if you’re in the market for an Aratech repulsion compensator. They’re hard to find, she promises, because Aratech pulled out of the hyperdrive manufacturing business almost as soon as they got into it. They make good speeders and, in her opinion, they ought to stick with that. She promises to give you a good price on account of her not having to haul it down the mountain if you buy it up here. She also tells you how the Jedi wasn’t interested on account of not having a ship anymore.

Maybe you notice the knowing gleam in her blue eyes, maybe you don’t. Either way, this scavver has information you want. You negotiate. With charm, with reason, with threats. It doesn’t matter how. You get what you want in the end, just like you always do.

The scavver takes you to the ship’s bridge, where she says she met the Jedi earlier. You find a Republic Senator’s corpse on the floor, two distinct lightsaber wounds in their chest, but none of the carbon scoring you’d expect from a fight. You get what you can from the ship’s damaged computers, but it doesn’t amount to much more than navcharts, a manifest, and escape pod launch records. When you turn to ask the scavver where the Jedi was headed, you find that she is gone and the path out of the bridge is sealed behind you.

You make a new path, of course. You always do.

The scavver’s trail predictably takes you back to your ship. The good news is that it’s still there. The bad news is your protocol droid is disassembled with apparent care, lying in a neat pile at the top of the boarding ramp. The word sorry is scrawled across its forehead in very poor handwriting using what you suspect to be lipstick. From the loving way the droid was taken apart, you guess the message isn’t for you.

There is no apology scrawled on the floor where one of your speeders used to be.

You follow your speeder--a simple task with all of your skills and your crew and your resources--to a valley below the crashsite, where the plains of pristine snow are pocked with scorched-black escape pods. Dozens upon dozens upon dozens of them, their hatches all hanging open. A path of brown mud and green grass marks the slow march of their inhabitants out of the valley.

There is another ship at the other end of the path. A freighter, small enough you aren’t sure it can even carry the hundreds of people slowly shuffling aboard. They are aliens, all of them, and clad in identical grey jumpsuits. You catch the gleam of metal around some of their wrists and ankles.

The scavver watches you from the ground beside the boarding ramp. Maybe you already guessed and maybe you didn’t, but you see now that she’s not what she seemed. The shabby cloaks and scarves have been thrown off, leaving her in a Jedi-brown combat suit she wears like a second skin, a lightsaber at each hip, standing tall and sure. The Force swirls around her in a storm of certainty and power and even if you can’t feel that sort of thing, there’s something about the way she holds herself that tells you it’s there all the same.

This is your objective. This is Nirea Velaran.

She tosses you a careless grin as the freighter’s aftermarket guns spin round to face you. You could perhaps kill her before they get you, but you wouldn’t survive to enjoy the rewards of a job well done. She tells you this doesn’t have to be stupid and you don’t have much choice but to talk. To let her explain.

What she tells you is an indictment of the Republic’s system of law, a story of a prison that’s little more than a slave mill for aliens, of Senators that blithely profit from the gaps deliberately written in their own laws. A story of the Jedi Master who knew about it and did nothing, who sent her to prop up something broken, who cared more about law than justice. It’s the story of a Jedi Knight who murdered a Senator in cold blood and will die before apologizing for it.

She’s cavalier about what she’s done, but passionate about her reasons for doing it. Whatever the price of this liberation turns out to be, she’s clearly prepared to pay it. Clearly prepared to ensure its success no matter what it does to her.

The boarding ramp begins to rise as the last of the prisoners scrambles aboard. You don’t know if she planned for the ship to leave without her, but she doesn’t seem to care. The guns remain fixed on your position.

You consider your options as your target considers you. Her attention slices through you like a laser, hot and sharp and precise. Looking for something specific, you think, and you can’t tell from her inscrutable expression whether she found it.

When she’s seen what she needs to, she offers you some flattery and a gratuitous wink. Maybe you appreciate it; maybe you don’t. She asks for a ride off this shit planet. Promises to put your droid back together and put a little life into your drab little ship. Mentions how it’s generally better to have someone with a talent for destruction and mayhem working for you than than against you. And maybe she hints that she’s got talents beyond wanton chaos. Maybe she offers to show you what they are.

Accepting her offer will have consequences. This Jedi is the sort of person who wears trouble like a signature fragrance. You are familiar enough with trouble by now to know you can’t stand that close to its storm without being swept up yourself. But maybe you can make that storm work for you. Maybe it’s your kind of storm.

Or maybe it isn’t. Maybe you have enough trouble of your own. Maybe you aren’t interested in the kind of trouble a willful, bleeding-heart Jedi carries with her.

She watches you with a look that’s shameless and hungry and not entirely trustworthy. There’s a kind of calculation to the fire behind her eyes and a tension in her body that tells you time is short. You ask yourself: is Nirea Velaran a risk worth taking?

tagged by @meonlyred. time to expose myself as a fake gamer girl. i am too tired to think of other people to tag but if you are reading this and you play video games i would like to know what your answers to these questions are. i am tagging @you.

favorite game from the last 5 years? pillars of eternity 2 & the sims 4. someone please resuscitate the singleplayer story-focused rpg where choices change the course of events and i don’t spend 90% of my game on fetch quests. not everything has to be “open world”. i am so tired.

most nostalgic game? goldeneye. i live for slappers only bighead mode.

game that deserves a sequel? mass effect andromeda. i enjoyed the game and it was a great concept that suffered for behind the scenes bungling and it really deserves a redemption arc in the form of a sequel with adequate time and resources and good direction.

game that deserves a remaster? kotor. but maybe i’m just saying that because that’s the game that hooked me on games (with a little help from @lwsupremacy) and every game i have played since has been a futile attempt to recapture the magic of being trapped on taris for 3 days because i couldn’t figure out that i needed to go to that sith party and steal a uniform and also finding out that i was the villain all along.

favorite game series? kotor & dragon age.

favorite genre? story-focused rpgs or anything with really detailed character customization.

least favorite genre? everything else. i don’t actually like video games i just like combining interactive fiction and dress up.

favorite song from a game? idk man. i really liked mass effect 3′s soundtrack i guess???

favorite character from a game? the player character. i’m a self-centered ho who is not too proud to admit to this.

favorite ship from a game? i’ll always be a slut for shakarian. also i am deep in doc x rea hell. i don’t necessarily ship him with every jedi knight in swtor (he is not for everyone) but i sure as shit do with mine. i’ll

favorite voice actor from a game? they are all magic. i have an especial weaknes for brandon keener as garrus vakarian and claudia black as morrigan, but they are all goddamn magic. also all the voicework in pillars of eternity 2 is especially magic and i’m not just saying that because i’m so weak for the cast of critical role.

favorite cutscene? all of the cutscenes in the citadel dlc for mass effect 3???

favorite boss? does it have to be a final boss? is this question about mechanics or story??? who cares this is my blog i do what i want. the answer is the broodmother from dragon age: origins. that is the creepiest shit that still elicits a visceral reaction from me even now. even just thinking about it.

first console? the first console i ever owned personally was an xbox gifted to me for christmas at age 16. i had asked for an n64 because i was feeling nostalgic and wanted to play goldeneye and chrono trigger and whatever the fuck else i used to play in the brief moments when my brother would allow me to touch his console, but my mom could not find an n64 since they were a decade old at that point so she bought me an xbox and a couple star wars and james bond games instead. i spent my entire christmas break consumed by kotor and that is how i started really playing video games at all. thanks mom!

current console or consoles? fuck consoles. sorry horizon: zero dawn but i am pc only.

place from a game that you’d like to visit? all the places in video games are like mad violent and i am painfully aware that in video game world i would be a useless, expendable npc. much as i’d like to see nar shaddaa or the citadel or tevinter i would like to remain alive, out of prison, and out of slavery more.

place from a game that you’d like to live in? i just remembered stardew valley. i could live there i guess. i wouldn’t say i’d like to but if i have to pick a place from a game.... stardew valley.

ridiculous crossover that would never happen but would be super fun? i want to play a mass effect prequel that is garrus as a citadel cop teaming up with nancy drew in a very weird point and click adventure. what nancy drew is doing there is never explained. why c-sec is working with a 16 year old human girl is also not explained. nothing is explained there is no time for explanations there is a mystery to solve.

book that would make a good game? brandon sanderson’s mistborn series. honestly anything he writes has a fun system of magic with enough definition to translate in an interesting and playable way to a video game mechanic, but i think mistborn would be the most fun. although the color shit from warbreaker would be very visually striking i think.

show/movie that would make a good game? the good place. it could be the weirdest and most fun game. some kind of weird patchwork of minigames that somehow forms a cohesive narrative.

games you want to play? cyberpunk 2077 looks pretty good. i usually only get excited about bioware games or games my friends have already played and told me i would like. i am not that hyped for anthem because i hate multiplayer outside of my circle of three friends who i don’t mind holding back with how awful i am at video gaming. i’m still gonna buy it and play it and i am very open to being pleasantly surprised but i can’t bring myself to be hyped.

have you gotten 100% completion in a game? any game that can be completed that i have actually finished playing, i have completed 100%. no fetch quest too small or too annoying bitch.

have you cried over a game? i cried a whole lot on my third day trapped in the upper levels of taris, unable to figure out how to get down the elevator to the lower city. also other times because of emotional beats in the storyline or whatever. i am a human person with skin and feelings.

what power-up or ability would you want in real life? i really enjoy the direct correlation between effort and achievement and would like to adopt that in my real life. in the sims, when my sim spends 8 hours writing they have a completed novel at the end of it. they put it in the mailbox and then they get royalties for a while. that sounds nice!!!! a specific ability though... i ought to say healing or something actually useful that could help people but if i’m being perfectly honest i wanna force leap. i wanna zoom.

11. What weapon(s) would they have?The only thing better than a lightsaber is two lightsabers. Rea’s generally have cyanish crystals but she’s always losing them and stealing new ones from her enemies (and sometimes friends) so you’ll find her using random, mismatched sabers on occasion. She also has an antique, vaguely malfunctioning lightwhip you can unlock during a personal mission, but uh... equip that at your own risk bruh.

12. Are they better as a tank, healer or DPS?Rea is pure destruction. Unleash her on your enemies and step back for the show. Maybe sip a Mai Tai, catch up on your emails. Call your mom like you’ve been meaning to. Check out that new holo everyone’s talking about that you just haven’t had time for. Don’t worry about the fight, but do make sure you have some kolto handy when she’s done because she will need it desperately. She can also tank quite effectively, but be prepared to watch her flirtation with death turn into a serious, committed relationship. Just don’t let her heal. Dying in combat is at least dying with dignity. You’ll have no such luxury if you succumb to her gentle ministrations. In her care, you will die a painful and embarrassingly stupid death. Do. Not. Let. Rea. Heal.

13. What gifts do they Love? Like? What would they say when you gave them a gift? She’s a weirdly difficult person to shop for!!! 8) Dogs or cats: I love them both but I will only keep certain breeds of dogs as pets because I don’t like living with anyone who sheds more than I do. Love to visit other people’s shedding pets though.

9) Number of blankets: Flat sheet and down comforter and I need it to be like thirty degrees outside my cocoon of warmth. I like a lot of blankets in concept but in practice I get tangled and it’s too much work to fold them and tidy them and also gets really hot.

According to Netflix I have started watching the following but never finished: Finding Dory, Sadie’s Last Days on Earth, The Incredible Jessica James, The Outcasts (I don’t even know what this movie is and have zero memory of it), and Moana. I’m pretty sure Wonder Woman in theatres was the last movie I watched to the end.

18) Last Show I Watched: Just finished season one of Stranger Things yesterday. I know I’m behind don’t judge me. (The answer to this is now Lucifer.)

19) When Did I Create My Blog: July 2013, but I had another Tumblr blog before this one. Maybe two or three. I used to do this thing where I would periodically reboot my entire life. I’m mostly done with that now.

1. What is the third line of your WIP?

A selection from the most recent unfinished fic from where I gave up on Fictober: “She brushes the tips of her fingers along the column of his throat--a delicious contradiction of soft skin and rough stubble--letting the pads of them rest feather-light against the pulsing artery.”

2. What is your favorite OTP to write about?

Rea & Doc.

3. How do you take your coffee?

Weak as hell and drowned in french vanilla creamer. It’s only recently that I’ve been able to stand the taste of it at all.

4. Easy squeeze cheese on Crackers? Or just cheese on crackers?

I haven’t had Easy Squeeze cheese in years and probably wouldn’t like it anymore but I used to love that shit. Now I enjoy a good stilton on my crackers with a smear of fig & apricot chutney.

5. Have you ever dressed up as Santa Clause or Mrs. Claus?

In the sixth grade I was cast as Mrs. Claus in our school Christmas play. I remember my mother using some combination of hairspray and baby powder to turn my hair white.

6. What is your favorite holiday?

Probably Halloween these days. I used to love Thanksgiving--a holiday for eating and napping and hanging with the family is like all of my favorite things--but both Thanksgiving and Christmas have basically been ruined by capitalism. If it isn’t the stress of trying to buy gifts for everyone I’ve ever looked at when I have no money it is the stress of trying to travel to see my family when I have to work through the holidays because I do not have the kind of nice 9-5 that comes with holidays off or vacation time. (Yes, I am indeed bitter.) Anyway, Halloween is a pure holiday about cosplay and candy and I am all about that.

7. Are you a morning person?

I love mornings. I also love late nights. I am neither a morning person nor a night person. My most productive hours are generally like 4am-7am, but that’s just because those hours are quiet and without distractions.

8. Have you ever sang in the shower? What was the song?

Whenever I am alone in the house. I sing anything I can remember most of the words to, which changes all the time. Lately I’ve been singing a lot of Stubborn Love by The Lumineers.

9. When do you allow Christmas music to be played in your house?

I don’t give a shit. I’ll listen to Jingle Bells in May. Let me fucking live.

10. What is your idea of a great date? (not just a good one, a GREAT one) XD

Staying at home by myself in my pajamas and not going on a date.

11. What are the next three songs on your shuffled playlist right now?

so there’s this excellent Kaidan post @jadesabre301 subjected me to [here] about the fact that there’s no Shadowbroker dossier for Kaidan.

And the excellent headcanon by @normandya is it’s because he’s like, a hardware tech nerd, who reads old books and goes hiking and breaks your toaster (and then fixes it better) not someone who yk, does anything online or understands memes or whatever. (HE WRITES PHYSICAL LETTERS, yes, I am verklempt.)

and it just reminded me of my time spent working in retail home networking/wifi sections and just... wanting to go into a store and say: give me the dumbest possible appliance. It connects to nothing except electricity. No extra buttons or screens or speakers or microphones or alerts. It just. Does one thing and sits like a rock in my house doing it’s one thing all by itself.

I feel proud to realize that Kaidan would probably agree with me.

I honestly need them to make *at least* 5 more Knives Out movies, each with just the tiniest little tag scene at the beginning or the end to show me about Benoit's life outside of his cases and then I will read all the stupidest fic about the dumb shit his husband (bf? Not sure if specified, will have to rewatch) has to put up with and I WILL LIVE FOREVER IN PERFECT JOY

but also I need at least five more Knives Out movies because a good non-cop based mystery is hard to find anymore! And they're so much better than they have any right to be and they're quality mysteries full of exquisite characters and they're *so satisfying*!!!

(they're just... Built well? Cohesive wholes with style and good solid technical skills and made by people who clearly like what they're doing and are good at it! They're so! I just!)

But also I really want to know all the stupid shit Benoit's friends and family have to put up with when he's not on a case 🤣🤣🤣

12. Have you ever written a fic and decided never to publish it? Why?Yes and no. When I first started writing fic, I told myself I would never ever publish any of it. I was nine but I was 100% aware that what I was writing was trite, self-indulgent nonsense that would do nothing for anyone but me (shoutout to Sailor Lexia, best friend to Princess Serenity and kickass Sailor Scout, inadvertently named for a type of car because, again, nine.)

Anyway, during that time I wrote a bunch of stuff but I sort of started without the intent to share it so I don’t know that that counts. It took a lot of years of forum roleplaying and support from the wonderful @lwsupremacy and @riddlingsphinx who never judged me for my self-indulgent nonsense (it’s literally all I write) for me to even consider publishing any of it. I’m not sure why I didn’t want to and I’m not sure why I did, but I feel a little better putting it out there for some reason. And since I started publishing there’s nothing I’ve written that I’ve decided to keep to myself once it was done. If I’m not feeling something, I’ll usually just not finish it.

22. Has there ever been anyone who’s made you freak out because they read your work and followed/favorited/reviewed?Um, it’s funny you should ask this because earlier today I was quietly panicking because you replied to a dumb ficlet I wrote. And also @servantofclio whose The Other Commander Shepard series is my favorite thing ever and once I think I wrote something (for Inquisition maybe?) that @tarysande commented on and the fact that I remember it at all (it’s been a long time) has to be evidence of the impact that had. Honestly, though, every winky face and like and comment really makes my heart soar. There are few feelings nicer than knowing that someone has seen your work and at least vaguely enjoyed it.

23. What’s the nicest review you’ve ever gotten?I don’t know if it’s a review, exactly, but I once wrote this dumb thing about slapping a lightsaber on a droid and then the incomparable @meonlyred actually drew the dumb thing. I still think about this. If I never achieve anything else, playing even a small part in that drawing will have been enough.

8. Preferred class overall?I was pretty committed to rogues in Origins and the first few times I played DA2, but I think I’m firmly in the mage camp now, though my preferred mage is arcane warrior kind of build. I like to run screaming and on fire into battle. I don’t really build my characters for combat efficiency so much as ‘this is hella cool’.

12. Do you prefer DA:O, DA2, or DA:I most?I think I’m gonna have to go with Origins. I loved all three and all three had their problems, but I’ve replayed Origins the most. There are so many different ways to play it, so many different ways to get your heart broken. All the mechanical parts of it are clunky as hell and I miss the voiced protagonist, but it’s just my favorite story I guess. I love it.

18. Who did you choose to rule Fereldan?My canon Warden Mahariel put Anora on the throne to handle business all by her bad self, mostly cause she didn’t give a flying fuck which shem got the chair but didn’t really want to do all the Warden stuff without Alistair. I would have chosen the same thing, personally, but for different reasons.

24. Favorite main-story quest from DA:I?Haven getting obliterated. It confused me the first time. I thought the game was somehow already shifting into the third act already because I had spent so many hours gathering all the elfroot. But getting my ass kicked in the first major encounter with Corypheus was awesome. (If only there had been similar setbacks throughout the rest of the game.)

43. Favorite romance overall so far?This is a very difficult question. I’m gonna probably have to say... Fenris. I also loved romancing Alistair and if I ever get to play with the right characters I know I will love the Zevran and Isabela romances as well. But as of right now, I think Fenris.

61. Favorite NPC?I don’t think I can even answer this. Flemeth, I think? That one mage you find trapped in the Fade in Origins? Anora? The Architect? Meredith? Branka? Gamlen? The Dwarven crafts guy? Duncan? Varric’s asshole brother? I can’t even begin to choose.

71. Did you read the novels?Yes I did. The Last Flight is my fave.
