Technically I have 5 emails. We live very different lives.

I started to respond to this, got distracted by the beautiful world, and came back to find I'd forgotten to save what I'd written. So let's see if I can explain it again!

Fanart culture and fanfiction culture are a little different. With Fanart, you post it wherever. It gets the attention it gets, you're mostly done. AO3 is an archive, though. Like a library, it's easily searchable.

Tumblr CAN do text posts. I COULD post my fanfiction here under a cut. But it's not really built for it in the same way. I DID post a couple Fics here on Tumblr. But, can you easily find them? No! One of em got 3 notes and if anybody wanted to find something like it, they wouldn't be able to.

Tumblr's search function is trash!

On AO3 though, I've read stories that were written when I was a little kid because people put all their stuff on there and I can easily filter for what I want to see and bam! There it is! And, readers are Significantly more likely to leave nice comments on AO3.

So it's not so much "why do all these Tumblr users not post their fics on Tumblr?" it's more like "everybody uses AO3 (or very rarely some fandom specific platform, like fimfiction for my little pony stuff) but this user is also on Tumblr so she's giving a courtesy alert to her followers and advertising."

Like I wouldn't sell stuff through Tumblr. It's not built for it, Etsy or eBay are better. But technically I COULD. I could buy candy at Ace Hardware. I'm not gonna unless I'm already there for a job. It makes more sense to get it from A Place that Sells Candy. Okay. Cutting myself off, hope this makes sense!

i just had a dream that ae uploaded a new "trailer for ep16" and it's just taco roasting everyone in the hotel like, but i just remembered 2 roasts. and it's, taco called pickle, macro or something and called mic and soap, "and you're like 16 and 18 so you two are gonna get cancelled" and that's all i can remember lmao, idk why and how . and then i woke up dgjgsh ⚰️⚰️

TACO HEADCANONS TUESDAY

Taco would teach Goo how to weaponize his cuteness. He pulls out the puppy dog eyes for 2 seconds and now they’re doing a full cast watch of the entirety of my little pony friendship is magic. She did it expertly in season 1, I’m sure she can pass down a few tricks to him, and Goo is Goo so they’d only be used for good. 

Taco commits to Mic’s no violence request surprisingly well post-canon. However, the reason she can do so is that she figures out other ways to get revenge on those who wrong her, and they end up being so funny/petty/absurd that Mic thinks it’s really funny and does not use her power of being the only one Taco will listen to to get Taco to stop. Trophy annoys her? She pours tea in his head. Silver silvers all over the place? His polish was somehow replaced with oil.  

Taco's formal speech reminds Toilet of Mepad's manner of speech, so he loves to listen to her talk. He asks her to tell him bedtime stories in her “fancy talk” and eventually she relents. It’s soothing for the both of them. 

Fuck man, Taco really likes standing next to Baseball. Or behind Baseball. Or just in Baseball’s general vicinity, because he’s big!! He’s the closest contestant in size to Mepad, who made her feel so very safe. So maybe sometimes she likes to hide behind Baseball or lean against him and think about Mepad!! Baseball’s not gonna call her out on it or make her move, he’s a nice guy, and he already hangs out with Nickel a lot so he’s used to having a little fella vibing around him. 

Mic tripped on the stick once. Taco was later caught setting that exact stick ablaze. No one messes with her gf and gets away unscathed. Paper is still afraid of her. 

At some point post-canon, Fan mentions the fact that some of them have plushies, and as a result quite a large order of those plushies is made. Each of the core lights gets each of the other core lights and themselves, Suitcase gets Knife and vice-versa, Mic gets a Taco, etc., etc., most importantly Taco gets a Mepad plush. And she starts carrying it around everywhere. Not just in her shell, though that’s where it stays when she needs both her hands, but in her arms. She is holding him constantly. He brings her comfort, and no one is going to begrudge or tease her for that. It’s not as though Painty doesn’t have mini-lightbulb with them more often than not, and Suitcase doesn’t carry mini-knife inside her, yeah?

Object Show HCs

Some II and BFDI headcanons I have

Tennis Ball is slightly scared of dogs. He won’t go into a full panic or anything, but he will get nervous.

Balloon is autistic. (then again I’ve seen a lot of others with this headcanon so it ain’t that special)

Baseball is autistic.

OJ, Paper, Pickle, Salt, Pepper, and Bomb will get very defensive if anyone talks smack about Balloon. He appreciates their care for him 100%, but there are times he wishes to fight his own battles.

Baseball age regresses to relieve anxiety and depression. One of the very few others who knows about this is Nickel, who gives him care during these times outside the game. Nickel has increasingly worried for Baseball ever since his elimination, knowing Baseball is in distress and even more worried by the fact he can not go back to help him. Test Tube also knows this, and is currently the one to give Baseball care during the times she herself is not regressed. (see below)

Lollipop has a Tumblr, or something similar.

Nickel (II) is the clone/son of Nickel (BFB).

Knife age regresses due to stress. The one that often gives him care during these times is Pickle.

Firey Jr. is Firey’s illegitimate child.

Paintbrush has warmed up (not literally, thank god) to Fan ever since his elimination.

Yin is now successfully learning to be more assertive and take control over Yang.

Nickel regrets some of the bad things he’s done, but only a bit… but the regret is slowly getting larger.

Tissues sometimes picks his nose. The result ain’t pretty.

Fan age regresses out of anxiety and stress. He’s been only doing this recently, and the one to give him care during these times is Paintbrush.

Baseball only didn't know about human/mammalian reproduction prior to reading... that book. A lot of objects don't know about human/mammalian reproduction. They’re spawned and grown in incubator-like machines.

Tissues age regresses to cope with stress and anxiety. Yin-Yang’s the one to give him care because Trophy just up and drops Tissues at Yin-Yang and the Cherries’ door. Nice roommate skills, Trophy.

The black part of Yin Yang’s face? It’s a mask. The Yang side of the face is actually white like Yin, but very, very cracked. Why the Yang side became a black sphere when separated was because it took control of the mask and managed to turn it into a new body.

ALTERNATE HC: Yin and Yang were supposed to come out separate as an attempt to have two objects be spawned out of one incubator, but Yang decided to fight Yin (their first fight) while both were still developing and they just so managed to fuse. The ones who witnessed this were needless to say horrified.

ALTERNATE ALTERNATE HC: YinYang was born separated. After they nearly destroyed their own house, a relative did some weird science and fused them into one. Due to their unstable DNA, YinYang cannot be calm for longer than 24 hours. If they were to be calm longer than their limit will allow, they would collapse into a messy pile of black and white goo.

Baseball is made of horsehide.

Balloon, OJ, and Paper all regress due to depression, stress, and PTSD respectively. The one to give them care during these times is Bomb, who OJ has forgiven.

YinYang was actually made from a Yin-Yang symbol themed pendant.

The objects don't actually speak English, but the Meeple products can understand and speak both English and the object language. The episodes of the show itself are actually translated (surprisingly accurately) 

Tissues is lactose-intolerant.

Test Tube age regresses due to stress. Lightbulb’s there to give care.

Ever since reading... that book, Baseball has developed a fear of human children.

Fan is autistic.

Paintbrush has started to often sing Death Metal to cope with frustration and rage. They'll often do this alone in their room. 

Soap age regresses to cope with anxiety.

Despite not really having a childhood, MePhone4 age regresses to cope with PTSD. MePad helps him out during these times.

Baseball has a plush bat (animal, not the object) called “Strike” as his comfort item! He often keeps it wherever he can and will sometimes bring it out if he wants to. If it gets lost or he can’t find it he’ll start regressing and go into a hysterical sobbing fit until it’s retrieved.

OJ has to drink, guess what, orange juice to actually survive. Foods and other liquids are kinda unhealthy for him. (yes, he’s technically a vampire)
