When I was first developing my DOL PC/Sydney fic I kinda wanted it to be more…happy?? At least with their relationship and the end result

But then I started learning more about Sydney (when I first got into the fandom) and realized it’d be boring and “unfair” to their character, I had to change some things. So now I’m at the point when I think about it their relationship I’m like-

i think the funniest quest i’ve encountered so far is the Othrongroth instance in the barrow-downs at the start of volume 1

this guy is most likely your first real boss. you’re kind of on edge, losing health, trying to deal as much damage as you can, but the wight-lord keeps healing himself, it’s starting to look like a hopeless fight

and just when you’re about to give up, Tom Bombadil himself appears!

he just. he. he blasts the guy straight out of existence.

and then he merrily skips along, singing his silly little songs and expects me to just follow after him like i hadn’t just witnessed an act of god in some random basement

the lotr books are beautifully written, reader-immersive creative literature masterpieces.

that being said, tom bombadil is the best thing to ever be written and easily the most powerful man in middle-earth (most powerful woman being pippin, the trans demi-girl icon)
