I’ve been watching Metal Gear Scanlon on Giant Bomb (Scanlon being he of the “White Guy Blinking” Gif) and I’ve come to one singular conclusion:  Kojima is a fucking pervert who also has no idea how women’s bodies work.

Hey Jeff. I've been a premium subscriber for 7 years now. It hit me today how.. not great the site is for premium subscribers in some aspects. I wanted to watch the podcast, but to find the premium version, I had to hover over the videos tab, and click premium (sandwiched in between Metal Gear Scanlon and Trailers) just to find the premium video version of the podcast. Are there any plans "premiumize" (ugh) the site, like having the frontpage be the premium version by default for premium subs?
We want to combine pages like that together to make it easier to navigate, yeah. Ideally we'd have one page for the podcast that surfaces all four versions of it with one set of comments underneath. We're also talking more and more about a full redesign of the homepage and navigation.

I’ve been watching Metal Gear Scanlon and as much as I love Dan, I hate how he plays Metal Gear. It’s completely wrong and it pisses me off

Metal Gear Scanlon V was a drag in a lot of ways, but it gave us some of the best Drew/Dan/Jason content.
It still bugs the shit out of me seeing Drew use the Riot SMG though.

Drew probably killed more people at Qarya Sakhra Ee alone than I did the entire game.

Metal Gear Solid
After I began watching the Giant Bomb video series of "Metal Gear Scanlon" and understood that the premise of the show was giving the reaction of a newcomer to the Metal Gear series in a present day mindset; I then quickly went to Amazon and picked up the "Metal Gear Solid: Legacy Edition" and am now in the process of playing through the series for the first time, myself. I skipped the Metal Gear games and jumped straight into Metal Gear Solid.
I didn't know much about the series going into it. The only information I really had going in was that you play as a soldier named Solid Snake, he has a Brother named Liquid, and they eye-patched daddy is named Big Boss. I was also told that the story is absolutely insane, hard to follow, and is absolutely loveable.
I really wanted to get into this game. I really, really, really did. However, to me personally, this one game didn't age well. I got halfway through and started wondering if playing Twin Snakes would be a better experience, but then a colleague informed me that too much is changed in Twin Snakes to get the real feel for the original game. So, I stuck with Metal Gear Solid through to the end. Although I don't necessarily dislike it, because I did see a little bit of what the gameplay to come is like, it completely ruined my enjoyment of the first game. The story in the original Metal Gear Solid, while convoluted enough to make me smile, was not the mental roller coaster I was promised. Spoiler Alert: at the time of writing this, I have played through "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty" so I know that the story of the first game needed to at least be somewhat grounded to set a solid foundation for the series to launch itself head-first up its own ass. I love this game for what it started, I I can't hold it at fault for what I see as short-comings in hindsight. The game itself is not bad at all, just some aspects haven't aged well to me, and looking back at it from almost 20 years I see some things I'd wish they added, or am sad that the PSX couldn't bring the power necessary to allow certain amenities, such as faces. All-in-all, this is a good foundation game that sets a good pace for the incredible sequels and I highly recommend if you haven't played the series that you get your hands one these games.
Metal Gear Solid gets a CtheBigZ official 8/10
