To answer this, I would look at the time when culturally Delhi was at its peak, during the time of the Mughals.

Perhaps no other period in the history of phoenix city encapsulates a culture, life that could truly, uniquely be called more native.

Ideal Delhi:

Street Food should definitely start with the Old Delhi Area including Chandani Chowk, Chawri Baazar, and Sita Ram Baazar where you will find different street food dishes aloo-chaat, Dahi-bhale, Kulla-chat, japani-samosa at Manohar ka Dhaba near it, bedmi puris, and heart of Chandani chowk i.e famous paranthe wali Gali. Then you can head towards Paharganj where you will discover a different aroma of Multani flavor. you should definitely taste dal samosas at Janta Sweets, moth kachori at Moth Bhandar, Amritsari chur naan, and Sitaram diwan chand special paneer chole bhature.

A couple of colonies in Delhi has decent regional food as well which never failed my taste-buds:

Near Chandni Metro: Ideal for me when I like to taste vegetarian food. Shop owners are mostly Punjabi, Jaat, and Jain. Parathe of Parathe wale Gali, several chat stalls, sweet shops, chole bhature of Nand di Ji bhature wale of Pan Mandi, Sadar Bazar are on my list in this area.

Tibetan Food and Majnu Ka Tilla: It is an entire Tibetan colony. Apart from road-side small joints, I visit restaurants like Tee Dee, Ama for a wonderful experience. Pork is a must-try here.

Specialties:

Old Delhi Lies in a cocoon, independent of the vagaries of time, shielded by the walls of Shahjahanabad and clinging on to its unique charm, and in the process conserving the elements of their cultures that defined. presenting a smorgasbord of delights for the food lovers, from Mughal court recipes to kingly sweets.

Kucha Chelan

Taking a right turn inward into Kucha Chelan, one can walk up to the famous Kale Baba Ke Kebab. An Old Delhi legend serving soft, scrumptious fare straight from the era of the Mughals. This stall is most renowned for its kebabs. With a meal for two settings you back by just Rs. 50, this is a must-try destination!

Chitli Qabar

This area called Chitli Qabar, nothing less than heaven for kebab hounds. Next, ask anyone for directions to the famous Flora Bakery. Right next to it is a small shop by the name of Bhaijaan Kebabs, serving the tastiest chicken Shami kebabs you’ll find. For Post Matia Mahal, one can go left behind Jama Masjid to enter Chawri Bazar, which holds for us three delights: a hidden sandwich place. Two chaat places everyone should try.

Right next to Gujarat Namkeen Bhandar going straight down Chawri Baza. When we enter Raghuganj, were neatly tucked into a crevice in the Jain Coffee House.

Non-descript,hard-to-find, this place serves fruit sandwiches, stuffed with apple, mangoes. Pomegranate layered with the slices of raw paneer, and much more.

Back on the street in Delhi Chawri Bazar, we move further down to Hira Lal Chaat, which serves the unique kulle chaat, vegetables stuffed with spices. Pomegranate seeds, decorated with sprinkles of lemon juice.

Magenta Line will connect Delhi-Noida-Gurgaon, four major universities and more

Magenta Line’s Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir corridor will be inaugurated today.

The new stretch will connect Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon.

After this corridor’s addition, DMRC network will be 277-km-long.

Magenta Line metro’s Janakpuri West-Kalkaji mandir corridor will be inaugurated today. After the inauguration, the full stretch of the Magenta Line will be available for the public to commute.

The new 24.82-km-long stretch will connect three states – Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida and will cut the travel time between Noida and Gurgaon by 30 minutes.

After Magenta Line Janakpuri West-Kalkaji Mandir stretch is opened, DMRC network will be lengthened to 277 km.

The inauguration of the Magenta Line will be done by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri. The event is scheduled to be held at Nehru Enclave metro station.

Yellow Line – Hauz Khas, Blue Line – Janakpuri West, Botanical Garden and Violet Line – Kalkaji Mandir.

The 38.2-km-long segment (after the addition of Janakpuri West-Kalkaji extension) will have 15 underground stations and 10 elevated stations in total.

The 8.679-km-long stretch having 7 stations from Kalkaji Mandir-Kalindi Kunj was made available to the public in December 2017.

Delhi Metro | CMRS completes safety inspection of remaining section of Magenta Line-8

New Delhi: The Commissioner for Metro Railways Safety (CMRS) today completed safety inspection of remaining 25.6 km stretch of Magenta Line between Kalka Ji Mandir and Janakpuri (West). CMRS Sh. S.K. Pathak accompanied by Sh. Rajmal Khoiwal (Dy.CRS/S&T/NDLS), Sh. Shalabh Tyagi (Dy.CRS/ET/LKO), Sh. Rajeev Kumar (Dy.CRS/G/LKO), Sh. Uttam Prakash (Dy.CRS/Mech/LKO) and Smt. Indu Dubey (Dy.CRS/Optg./LKO). The entire inspection was completed in three days from 8th May to 10th May 2018. Here some photographs-

From December 25, last year the Metro train service has already started between the Kalkaji temple and Botanical Garden on 12.64 km route. The rest section is also based on the same technique, it is being thought that this time the green signal will be received by CMRS, and if this happens, then by the middle of this month or by the end of the month This section will also open for passenger service.

After the opening of this section, the 38.235-km new magenta line will be fully opened between Botanical Garden and Janakpuri West and it will also become the first such line of Phase-3, on which the commuter service started with full capacity.

There are total 30 metro stations on Magenta Line (Line-8) including four interchange stations. Names of stations on Magenta Line are; Janakpuri West (interconnects with Blue Line), Janakpuri C-2B, Dabri Mor, Dashrath Puri, Palam, Sadar Bazar, IGI Domestic Airport, IGI International Airport, NH-8, Shankar Vihar, Vasant Vihar, Munirka, R.K Puram, IIT, Hauz Khas (interconnects with Yellow Line), Panchsheel Park, Chirag Delhi, G.K Enclave, Nehru Place, Kalkaji (interconnects with Violet Line), Mathura Road/NH-2, Okhla Phase 3, Ishwar Nagar, Jamia Nagar, Okhla Vihar, Jasola Vihar, Kalindi Kunj, Yamuna River, Amity NOIDA and, Botanical Garden.
