The concerns of the 19th century amateur moralists were also echoed in 21st century sporting paranoia about gender. Although levels of formal equality had risen in the latter part of the 20th century—by 1984 even the International Olympic Committee had accepted that women were perfectly capable of running marathons—the boundaries between male and female were more strictly policed than ever. In soccer FIFA banned female Mexico striker Maribel Dominguez from playing for the Mexican men’s second division side Celaya FC in 2004 because “there must be a clear separation between men’s and women’s football”. In 2009 the case of Caster Semenya, an 18 year old black South African woman middle-distance runner, once more brought the gender paranoia of sport to the fore. Suspected of “being a man”, she was forced to undergo an “examination” in which “her feet were placed in stirrups, her genitals were photographed and her internal organs were examined”. Following an international outcry Semenya was eventually allowed to compete again.
The International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) even granted itself the power to determine the most intimate part of human identity: the sex of an individual. Indeed, any IAAF race-day medical official was given this right. “The Medical Delegate shall also have the authority to arrange for the determination of the gender of an athlete should he [sic] judge that to be desirable,” read rule 113 of the IAAF Competition Rules. The IOC requires transgender athletes to have had sex reassignment surgery at least two years before they compete as women. And despite the fact that similar medical conditions can also be found in men as well as women, male athletes are not subject to testing. This is because the underlying yet predominant concern of sports organisations is policing an arbitrary boundary between male and female, just as it was in its formative era of Victorian amateurism. Then as now, modern sport is founded on the affirmation of strict gender division, in which women are subordinate to the masculine ideal, and those who do not conform are condemned.
—— Tony Collins, "The Meaning of Murdoch: Sport in the New World Order", Capitalism and Sport

( taylor zakhar-perez , cis-male , he/him ) - a gossip blog reported that luka moreno , the professional football/soccer player , was attending a high society event last night . according to the blog , the thirty-one year old was acting diligent , but also some reports said obstinate . who really knows ? after further deep diving , he reminds me of early morning runs, congratulatory slaps on the back , late night pool games at the pub , camera ready smile, throaty laughs, shots of espresso, resounding orders on the pitch & restless sleep . i’m sure we’ll be seeing more of him !
pinterest .
STATS .
FULL NAME luka mateo santos moreno .
NICKNAMES moreno ; football-wise : el fenomeno .
GENDER cis-male .
PRONOUNS he & him .
AGE 31 .
CAREER professional football player ( midfielder ) ; captain for manchester united & england national team .
ETHNICITY mexican & moroccan .
FAMILY naima saidi moreno ( mother ) , tiago moreno ( father ) , klaudio moreno ( older brother ) , barbara moreno ( younger sister ) & sofie abbott-moreno ( younger sister ) .
LANGUAGES SPOKEN english & spanish fluently , french ( beginner ) .
FOOTBALL CLUB HISTORY west ham united fc academy ( under 18 ) , chelsea fc ( u18 ) , paris st germain ( 18-23 ) , real madrid ( 23-26 ) & manchester united –- captain ( 26-present ) // england national team since 18 .
BIO .
long story short luka is a football prodigy ( not without hard work ofc ) , started from humble beginnings , is now well-travelled and is home sick thus coming back home to london. death tw .
son of tiago & naima moreno , middle child-ish , luka always had to fight for everything in life ; a place at the table , grades , his turn to speak , new shoes & bullies . he fell in love with football pretty early in life, as a good mexican, tiago bought his sons a ball as soon as their little feet could run . it was a ( cheap ) way to unwind & spend family time together . unfortunately , klaudio did not inherit the skilled footwork it required to be a competitive player . whereas luka , well luka was a natural . at merely 7 years old he already had the fierceness and acute thinking of a seasoned player . he did not take long to join football academies and pursue a career ( SEE ABOVE : FOOTBALL CLUB HISTORY . )
whereas his younger sister barbara ( barbi ) could not care less about men and their soccer obsession , klaudio never quite forgave his younger brother for taking away the spotlight .
despite being able to play with the big leagues , luka had to earn his place . working as much as he could in his dad's bar ; the pitchside pub to make sure he wouldn't get ridiculed again for his taped up cleats . one thing young luka learned early was work ethic . football -school - football - work , rinse & repeat . he was stuck in that cycle until he left for france at 18 to play for paris st germain for 5 years .
in paris not only did he brushed up on his french , but he grew from an almost overly egotistical player into an independent young adult who lived/ate/breather football . whereas he had the chance to be young , go out , date around and joke , at the end of the day the only thing that mattered was football . he also made his name name LUKA MORENO –- el fenomeno was not someone you could ignore , his face , stats and name was everywhere , think travis kelce .
after paris he went on to spain , playing with real madrid where he set records for ticket sales and ticket prices , think caitlin clark . he wanted to get more in touch with the spanish culture , still very different from mexico , he wanted to speak his language . he matured in madrid , became truly a more seasoned player and ended his time with 2 years of captaincy under his belt . he moved back home because he got a call from his mother saying that her best friends had passed away in a car crash along with his father , leaving her without a husband and their young child ; sofie abbott .
luka came back , his mother needed him , his new family needed him . buying a house and covering expenses was no longer enough . he came back to london , playing for manchester united fc this time . over the years him and sofie became very close , he taught her everything he knew about football in hopes she would change the game one day . he still lent a hand in his family pub , staying behind the scenes without causing commotion .
CHARACTER .
luka is seen as the golden boy , an international star , humble , perfect smile , and charismatic . but he's more , he's a family man , always providing , checking up on them & sending them a part of his salary . despite his relationship with his brother being more than tense , he made it out , so his whole family would as well .
he didn't get where he is by being pretty , although ... he is . he has a strict routine , morning jogs , skill sessions , practice & press . all those years living alone made him overly independent . he has his own pad and enjoys his alone time , especially as he has all eyes on him . he's extroverted but has a social battery that can run out pretty quick depending on the setting . when that happens he is just more laid back , man of few words .
although , he known to be very charismatic . he has a charming smile and a way of saying things without sharing information . he loves joking around , he inherited his sense of humour from his dad , because life was hard enough . it is better to laugh about it than to cry about it .
there's alwaysss more to say and if you ask , i'll yap your ear off about him . with that being said , i'm open to ANY plots !

Name: Luke Blackburn
Age: 39
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual, Polysexual
Fc: Jeremy Jordan
Appearance: 5’10”, fit but has a dad bod (and he’s proud of it!), short dark hair, hazel eyes (they shift between light brown/green/red depending on his mood, but he almost never notices), big smile, multiple ear piercings, style varies between “that one cool teacher” and early 2000’s grunge/punk.
Personality: Clever, excellent storyteller, good listener as long as he’s not stuck in his own head, sarcastic/quick witted, makes dad jokes specifically to embarrass his two older daughters and make his youngest laugh out loud, can’t go through daily life without music in the background, will burst into song whenever he feels like it, petty but specifically in a merciful way, puts on a brave face for his daughters and students but has a lot of trauma, definitely a theater kid, protective, has a vengeful streak.
Occupation: high school guidance councilor (verse dependent)
Talents: singing, acting, playing violin and piano, getting people to open up to him.
Abilities (when he recovers his memories and magic): Fire manipulation, illusion, glowing eyes, transformation into his angel form (blond hair, red eyes, black wings, glowing skin, fiery halo made of eyes, goat/ram horns), vocal hypnosis. He’s not as strong as he was as Satan, not by a long shot, and he can’t wield contract magic, nor does he gain immortality. He can also learn various spells and rituals, if he chooses to.
Likes: Music, peaches, soul food and authentic Mexican food, motorcycles and classic muscle cars, musical theater, spending time with his family, tattoos, tongue piercings, horror comedies, football (he and Riley play whenever they get a chance.)
Dislikes: Organized religion, hypocrisy, grits, pineapple, fishing (he doesn’t have the patience), clubbing, golf, politics.
Family: Mother (Lydia Blackburn née Cromwell), Father (Richard Blackburn), Wife (Delaney Blackburn née Roberts), Daughters (Riley - born July 4, 2004, Morgan - born February 14, 2006, Jayden - born October 31, 2009)
Birthday: July 13, 1984
Background: Nearly forty years ago, during the height of the Satanic Panic, Lucifer and Lilith had yet another falling out. Of course, their relationship had never been the best; he was stubborn and controlling, she was ambitious and bitter, and they’d reached a point some decades ago where even phenomenal sex and the hint of a light at the end of the tunnel weren’t enough to keep them together. To say that the divorce wasn’t going well would be the understatement of the century. Lilith wanted many things that Lucifer wasn’t willing to give up, chiefest among them being half of Hell to rule as her own. She claimed to want to focus on rehabilitating sinners rather than torturing them. Lucifer, paranoid and corrupted as he was, was not only convinced that she was lying, but also that there was no need for rehabilitation in the first place. Sinners went to hell to face endless repentance. It’s what they deserved! What he deserved. They argued back and forth, each screaming and throwing things in an effort to prove they were right. What he didn’t know was that Lilith had already been gathering power behind his back. She had worshippers. Faith. And she was ready and willing to use it against him.
Thus, Luke Blackburn was born to a wealthy couple in Macon, Georgia (US) in 1984 as a healthy human baby boy, and Lilith took over as the Queen of Hell.
As a child, Luke was restless, but well taken care of. He showed an interest in art and music at a young age, though his parents only permitted him to learn to play the violin and the piano in a vain attempt to keep his talents refined. It didn’t stop him from taking an interest in country/western, folk, Rock’n’Roll, and heavy metal. He learned to play songs that they didn’t approve of, and took great pleasure in doing so, even joining a folk metal band in his teen years.
The older he got, the more rebellious Luke grew, denouncing his Baptist upbringing all together. He and his bandmates would regularly go out of their way to organize and run charitable fundraising concerts around the same time as the local churches would, benefitting everyone from homeless vets to at risk youth to local shelters and food pantries. This led to them simultaneously becoming local celebrities and social pariahs, as church leaders labeled them an evil satanic cult. There was a small media shitstorm. Mob mentality took hold. The unfortunate passing of the band’s guitarist in a road rage accident led to them finally dissolving, and Luke has carried guilt over it ever since, even though it wasn’t his fault.
He was seventeen and still trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life when his mother finally saw how much he was struggling. She tried to connect with him, to help him, but he pulled away, convinced that she was just trying to get him to go back to church. It took several tries for her to make even the smallest crack in the barriers he’d put up, but when she showed up at one of the shelters he was volunteering at and started working, those barriers began to crumble. They began talking more, carpooling, coordinating. Coexisting. When she told him that she hadn’t been to a church service since his friend’s funeral, he was shocked, immediately asking why. She said it felt hollow to worship a god who would condemn a young man for being different, especially when he’d done so much good for others, and that she couldn’t stand how the worshippers of such a god talked about the people around them. As if they were below or lesser than. She confessed that she’d been struggling with her faith for a long time beforehand, but only recently realized why.
Luke and his mother continued to grow closer after that. She was the first person he told about his sexuality when he was 18, and she accepted him with open arms. His father did, too, at her insistence. When he expressed an interest in studying to become a councilor of some kind, his parents were supportive, paying for him to go to a top university. When he got a girl pregnant at 20, they were disappointed, but more than willing to help out when he said he’d take full responsibility. His eldest daughter, Riley, was born just before his 21st birthday, and while he never married her mother, he was a very dedicated co-parent. He met his future wife shortly after that, a spunky law student named Delaney who knew she wanted him almost immediately. Her boyfriend at the time was also into him, and the two would regularly invite him over for threesomes, but he rarely had the time or energy to accept due to school and parental duties. It wasn’t until Delaney made an effort to connect with baby Riley that Luke realized that he could see himself spending the rest of his life with her. He proposed on a brisk spring morning. She eagerly accepted, having broken up with her boyfriend only a month prior, and even insisted that they get married over Spring Break at a courthouse. He was a bit taken aback by her overenthusiasm, but she was earnest when she told him that she wanted to build a life with him and Riley.
His parents were not thrilled with the suddenness of the wedding, but agreed to go along with it as long as they were allowed to host a larger ceremony later on in the summer or early fall. Luke and Delaney happily made the compromise. By the time the ceremony rolled around, Delaney was already pregnant with their first daughter, Morgan, who was born the following Valentine’s Day. After that, the couple made the decision not to have any more kids until after both of them were out of school and working steady jobs.
Things were rocky for a while, but they made it work, becoming quite the formidable team. Delaney graduated first, and was almost instantly offered a position at Luke’s father’s law firm, which she graciously accepted. Luke graduated that fall, having finished his degree early, and took a guidance councilor position at the high school he graduated from. He and his wife coordinated their schedules so that at least one of them was always home with the girls, which was challenging but doable. Things were looking up for the Blackburn family. Mostly. It was around this time that Luke began having horrific nightmares of hellfire and brimstone, of tortured faces that seemed both far too familiar and totally unrecognizable. He began losing sleep, which Delaney recognized quickly and confronted him about. When he told her about his fucked up dreams, she held him, tried to comfort him, encouraged him to seek therapy, which he resisted at first, but eventually agreed to. It helped him more than he thought it would, causing him to open up about past traumas that he’d previously kept locked away. Things got better again, slowly but surely.
Jayden was a surprise, but definitely a pleasant one! She was born on Halloween, a holiday baby like her sisters before her, and instantly captivated Riley and Morgan. Her whole family adored her, and still does! Even now, in the thick of their teen years, with Riley off at college, the three sisters are thick as thieves. Morgan is a junior in high school, and she does her best to protect and help Jayden through her freshman year. Luke legitimately couldn’t be prouder!
He and Delaney opened up their marriage recently, after having a lengthy conversation with their daughters about what that means. They still love each other passionately, and are very committed to their partnership and the family they’ve built, but they both have an interest in experimenting with other partners and possibly adding a third person to their relationship.

𝙝𝙞 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙚! ngl i struggle with this brief a lot, there's not many men in hollywood who are muscular in a bulky way and not a lean way. beauty standards, amirite? this also isn't something that i think you're likely to see in younger men, so i'm going to stick to the ethnicity specs and bend the age a bit, i think. i'll do my best for you, angel!! ♡

REBEL BRAVO our inde navarette is looking for her OLDER HALF BROTHER, with the face of diego boneta, michael trevino, david castaneda, or any male or nb fc of mexican descent and in the age range of 30+. if you’re interested and want more details please contact rachael at urbnlgnds ( is necessary)
DETAILS INCLUDE: after the death of her mother when she was twelve, rebel was sent to live with her older half-brother. they had always been close when they were younger, and as nervous as he was to take her in, they somehow made it work for them. rebel was given quite a bit of freedom, but she was respectful of that, doing her best not to cause more trouble than necessary. since she never met her dad, her brother became a father figure to her, and their bond is very strong because of it. naturally he had to deal with her attitude, but the two are even closer now that she’s also an adult. needless to say, he’s not only her brother, but her best friend.

america was supposed to be the land of opportunity, but when ignacio and mariela guzman ventured across the rio grande river, they found the opposite. opportunities were limited for migrant families, every great possibility proved rumor as they settled in the rio grande valley. it was too expensive to go further upstate, to move anywhere beyond the southernmost tip of texas. still, it was reminiscent of home: a little mexico that was safer than where they had been in monterrey, but with little assistance afforded a newlywed couple, there wasn’t much they could do. the answer fell in ignacio’s lap the night he agreed to drive a friend from city to city. at first, he didn’t know why, nor did he ask. each trip came with the promise of gas money and small compensation in bills that were put toward rent and utilities- anything was better than nothing. the work continued and with each job came a steady raise each time his silence was bought.
years passed and the poverty-stricken couple found themselves well taken care of for all of their silence. from scraping the bottom of the barrel in a single bedroom housing unit to living well in a big house nestled in a gated community in one of the more well off cities in the rio grande valley, ignacio and mariela finally welcomed their first born son, ismael, the first u.s. born citizen in the guzman family.
growing up in the deepest region of south texas meant something different than it did in other parts of the country. the rules were different for kids like him, of which there were many, standing in the middle of two cultures. being mexican-american meant being twice as knowledgeable as anyone else. He had to know about john wayne and pedro infante, about football and futbol, about frank sinatra and agustín lara, about texas barbeque and carne asada, about oprah and cristina, about having perfect english and perfect spanish. there was pressure to be more mexican than the citizens in mexico and more american than the americans, on his home turf that would tear him apart for being anything less than they were. placed in special bilingual classes at his earliest convenience, ismael divided his studies in english and spanish from a young age: this was america, and he had to adapt in ways his parents couldn’t- and unfortunately for him, there were some people in the region would make his life harder if he didn’t.
built up to be the golden boy of the family, ismael was destined to have everything they never did and be reminded of it every day he came home with a backpack sagging with extra work. he spoke spanish at home, but english at school, and family cookouts every weekend meant spending time with tios and tias he wasn’t related to by blood, but rather acquaintance. he didn’t understand it, but he didn’t much care.
growing up, as difficult as it began, was fun. smiley had an incredible childhood, filled with days of riding bikes down his street with neighbors, playing baseball for a little league team, chasing down a ceaseless parade of cousins all across his back yard, picking pecans and oranges from the shade trees and groves that lined the side wall of his house.
the record scratch sounded the night of a family quinceanera. far out in a ranch near the border, the family was all gathered to celebrate a cousin’s birthday when the raid started. police and swat swarmed the home and pavilion where the party was being held. most of it was a blur, a confusing scene of chaos, screaming and fighting where gunshots and the electric crack of tasers echoed off every corner. at long last, he was ushered into a room and detained, forced to sit and wait for hours until armored trucks and vans pulled up on the scene.
the answers wouldn’t come for another few days, and even as a thirteen year old, he knew they weren’t the ones he wanted to hear. his father had been working closely with a cartel known as los valientes for as long as he had been in america, long enough to become one of the higher ups with a name that forced fear into the hearts of anyone that heard it, and while his mother claimed she didn’t know anything, she was still punished. ignacio was arrested, convicted, and sent to federal prison on a life sentence. mariela was detained and deported. ismael was alone.
rather than get sent into foster care, he was welcomed into the home of a friend of his mother’s, further down the valley in laguna vista, texas. while there wasn’t much of a culture shock between cities, his world was rocked. as good as an orphan, settled in a foreign home in a new school district and school, hours away from the comforts he knew in sharyland, he was lost.
eventually, his mother made her way back over the border, much in the same economic situation as she had been the first time, but ismael’s trust in her was gone. he wanted to get out, as far away from another heartbreak as he could get. in his mind, the only foreseeable way to do so, was doing it himself. finally settled just a little ways away from laguna vista, in port isabel, texas’ own sandpiper trailer park, ismael put himself to work and his plan into action.
he forced himself to excel in school, to keep his grades as high as he could and his nose to the grindstone. he didn’t get along with many people, mostly of his own volition, there was no time to distract himself with friends when he had so little time to do so much to help his own future. every summer, he found himself working just across the causeway in south padre island, acting as a deck hand for a company that offered deep sea and bay fishing and dolphin watch tours. it felt as if he found his niche there, working under the sun with salt water against his skin. he was happy on those boats, content to smile at tourists and chat with locals. he was good.
when it came time for graduation and he was offered a scholarship to UT austin. while he would miss the comforts of the valley and the soft sanded beaches in the gulf of mexico, he knew his destiny belonged far away from all of the ugliness he’d seen near the border.
adulthood:
after graduating from UT Austin with a masters degree in marine biology, ismael made his way back to the RGV. it seemed his niche, living in the expanse of flat, boring land, and while he was happy, he feared himself regressing to the mean. he returned to work for captain murphy’s boat tours. it offered him a little bit more room to flexi his academic muscles while still managing the life he’d missed so sincerely. it was a comfortable mid-point to where he wanted to go, and while there isn’t much fulfillment, there is contentment.
one night while on a boat he took out into the bay, he drifted close to boca chica beach. the grisly sight that followed shocked the then 25 year old. members of what he believed to be members of a cartel were throwing dismembered body parts into a secluded area of the bay. smiley knew well enough that the local underwater wildlife would do a good job of eating away a good majority of the evidence, and as such he decided to mind his own business. turning his boat away from the sight and back toward the sea ranch marina where he remained docked.
to no one’s surprise, it didn’t take the members of the cartel long to find and locate smiley. the only thing that offered a bit of solace was the knowledge that they were members of los valientes. dragged into matamoros and set in a warehouse to wait, smiley bided his time. ground workers like those that disposed of corpses weren’t in charge of deciding an outsider’s fate. within the hour, a man all too familiar stepped through the doors and stood before ismael. clad in a black pressed button down, boot cut jeans, snake skin cowboy boots, and a belt buckle settled with the mark of los valientes, all shrouded in the shadow left behind by a black stetson hat. one look at the man confirmed smiley’s suspicion: his long lost tio ruben, leader of los valientes, stood before him with thumbs hooked into belt loops.
tio ruben, pleased to see smiley welcomed him into a comfortable hug. the leader was well aware that ismael knew better than to spill trade secrets. the clarity gained the night of the quinceanera raid left little to be desired.
while smiley was still disgusted by the prospect of being around the same people that ruined his life, he wasn’t naive enough to pretend that he could push away the offer his tio had made: join us, mijo. we’re a lot nicer than todo esos pinches gringitos that took your life away.
smiley was still bitter, still burned. never stupid. he stepped into the ranks, taking the vacancy his father had left all those years ago. his learning curve was quick, but not quicker than ismael was. he took on his roles in quiet and contemplation, still working his day job on south padre island to draw no suspicion.
ismael has not spoken to his mother since he left. she’ll send letters, even the odd present at christmas, but he doesn’t want to speak to her. while he understands that she didn’t lie, she still never told him the truth. she never warned him about what could have happened, and for that, he holds onto his anger.
though he prefers to spend his time off work alone, ismael doesn’t have much issue making friends as he does keeping them. it’s safer to keep people at arms length. there aren’t many people in his life he finds himself considerably close to, and he tries to keep it that way. his sense of security, once shattered and painstakingly rebuilt, is a tough obstacle to climb.
after nine years between the cartel and a working, regular life, smiley was forced to vacate the job he really loved and attend the one his family had left in their wake. after natural causes claimed the life of his tio ruben, smiley took on the mantle as leader. his education put him in the perfect position, his disposition kept him one of the mysterious elite.
he would much rather hear about someone else than ever talk about himself, and while it may appear somewhat selfless of him to lend an ear, he knows its for his own selfish reasons.
wanted connections:
ismael has issues with keeping friends, but it could be cool to have one or two he met in college and really hit it off with. people that can handle him being a moody pain in the ass, essentially. cartel members, other gang alliances, etc
drinking buddies/social acquaintances. they’re kind of friends, but also they know next to nothing about one another save for surface level details.
POTENTIAL SIBLINGS. i didn’t mention any in his bio, but there could totally have been a younger sibling or two that had to experience all of that with him.

Bio:
Antonio Lopez was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico but his parents moved from Mexico when he was ten years old due to drugs starting to move throughout the city more. So, they packed up Antonio and his siblings and moved to Turtle Bay for a fresh start and a better life. They wanted their children to have the best chance possible and they knew staying in Mexico wouldn’t have given them that chance. Antonio looked out for his siblings with being the eldest that was his job. They all soon learned English and started to fit in more with the locals who seemed to be welcoming. His father got a job at the local supermarket while his mother worked at the local flower shop. They didn’t make much, but they all had each other.
In school, Antonio was a smart kid always going his best to get good grades, but he always helped his siblings whenever his parents weren’t around. During the times that his parents had to work late, Antonio learned how to cook. From there it became his passion, not only could he cook American food but Mexican food as well and his parents were really proud. Even though they felt bad that Antonio had to step up whenever they worked late. His father ended up taking on another job, at the local café this way his mother could be home. But still it wasn’t enough, and they were barely getting by but somehow, they managed everything.
During high school, Antonio went out for football and got onto the team. Turns out that besides his studies, sports was something that he was good at so he also played basketball and football. Of course, he taught his little brother how to play. Antonio got detention a couple of times due to being late, but he was only late because he had to make sure his siblings got off to school. That was when he met his first girlfriend. The two of them hit it off pretty well, but they didn’t officially start dating until Sophomore year. During the last year of school, he ended up applying to Fundacion Herdez in Mexico City and getting into that. As much as he didn’t want to, Antonio broke up with his high school girlfriend even though he was still very much head over heels in love with her. He just wanted her to follow her own dreams and not his path of life. After the breakup he went back to Mexico and did very well in college. But he also got into some trouble while he was down there, he got mixed in with the Cartel and he started working for them. But his family didn’t need to know this. So he kept it a secret from them, figuring it was best that way.
Antonio opened a small little restaurant in Mexico at the time that was booming but it was also a front for the Cartel. When Mexico started to get bad again, and his father passed away Antonio made the decision to return home for his funeral. After he buried his father, he decided to stay in Turtle Bay, making a decision to try and walk away from the Cartel and live a normal life again. But the Cartel just wouldn’t let him go at first, he had to do one last job for them, and he did it and he hated himself for it but at least he was free. When he came back to Turtle Bay again, he got a place in Bayside, and he opened up a second restaurant and he called it El Huerto Secreto.

Mateo “Matt” Diaz
Name: Mateo "Matt" Diaz
Gender/Pronouns: Male; He/Him
Species: Human
Age: 40
Birthday: February 5th
Nationality: American
Birthplace: Miami, Florida
Current Residence: Tampa, Florida
Occupation: Mechanic/Vlogger
Height: 6 ft. 0 in.
Sexuality: (Undetermined)
Fandom: Triple Frontier
FC: Cristián de la Fuente
Brief Background: Mateo and his twin sister Isabella (”Izzy”) are the only children of Hector Caesar Lunez Diaz and Caroline "Carol" Diaz; their father was Mexican, and their mother was American. He is the oldest by ten minutes. He grew up in a very close-knit family, with Isabella as his best friend while they were children until the twins enrolled in high school.
Due to his lackbaid attitude, joking attitude, and preference of keeping in the background, many of his teachers got the impression he was just a jokester, not taking anything seriously, and he was happy to just play that persona, finding a certain amount of freedom not having to live up to others’ expectations of himself. After graduating high school, Mateo joined the Marines, completing a tour in Iraq during his military contract.
When he returned back to the States, his grandmother was sick, and he moved into an apartment with Izzy down in Tampa, Florida. He started working at his Uncle Luis’ auto mechanic shop while he attended school for his certification in the same field.
While he was overseas, he got into the habit of recording short vlog-style video messages for his family when they were not on lockdown. It was a habit he carried over when he returned to the United States. He makes videos about DIY car maintenance and repair, along with nature videos he takes of his walks, sometimes when he’s just strumming his guit and singing.
Personality: Boisterous, joking, a little bit of a troublemaker with harmless pranks but nothing too serious, very sarcastic, very protective of those he considers family--especially his sister, gives off the appearance he doesn't care or isn't paying attention but is actually very observant and works hard.
Likes: Spending time with family, Bowling, Fishing, Mojitos, Taking nature walks/hikes, Playing with dogs and cats, 80′s music, Huevos Rancheros.
Dislikes: Bananas, Country music, Flat beer, Pork, Liars, Silence, Flying, Staying still.
Random Headcanons:
-Calls his twin sister his baby sister just to rile her up.
-Doesn't officially have any pets, but he takes care of stray cats that live in the neighborhood.
-He plays guitar and can sing decently--not great but not embarrassingly bad when you take him to karaoke night.
-Played baseball in high school.
-Did a tour with the Marines, deciding to work at his uncle's mechanic shop after coming back to the States.
-Has several tattoos, including a crescent moon on his shoulder with his parents and Izzy's initials written in.
-Speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic.
