Azt tudtad, hogy a menstruációs higiéniának van világnapja?

Pedig van, 2014 óta május 28. Van neki hivatalos honlapja is meg minden (a dátum választása sem véletlen egyébként, az átlag 5 napos menstruáció és az átlag 28 napos ciklus miatt.) Egy  WASH United nevű non-profit szervezet kezdeményezte az ügyet Németországban, és itt nem arról van szó, hogy kiemelten figyelj a tisztaságra meg ne hagyd bent a tamponod 4 óránál tovább, mert a toxikus sokk szindrómán túl még bele is halhatsz. Nem. Az a céljuk, hogy felhívják a figyelmet a menstruációs szegénységre, ami nem csak a harmadik világbeli országokat érinti, de még itthon is gyakoribb, mint hinnéd. Arra törekednek, hogy megfelelő politikai figyelmet IS kapjon ez az  igencsak valós probléma, valamint edukációval és adományokkal segítsenek a rászorulóknak. Nők százezrei esnek ki a munkájukból, lányok az  iskolából, mert számukra szó szerint luxus bárminemű menstruációs eszköz vásárlása és használata, még ha a legolcsóbb betétet vagy tampont vesszük is. (Utána kerestem kicsit, néhány női online magazinon és a Vöröskereszten kívül egy árva szó sem esik róla, ott is csak említés szintjén, de pl a magyar wikipédián az ég világon semmi nincs.)

Nincsenek már illúzióim, hogy a kettesek megfelelő fontosságú figyelmet kapnak, és nem csak tenyésztehénként tartanak számon... Ugyanakkor mégis reménykedem, hogy igenis lesz helye magasabb körökben is a társadalom nagy részét érintő kínkeserves kínlódásnak; hogy legalább egy 10 soros cikkel vagy bejegyzéssel “emlékeznek meg” erről a napról, amiről sokáig én sem hallottam egyáltalán tekintve a magyar referenciákat, nem is meglepő; hogy majd egyszer eljön az a pont, amikor emberként fognak kezelni engem is, annak ellenére, hogy két darab X kromoszómával sikerült megszületnem. 

próbáltam utánanézni, most van-e folyamatban kiemelt adakozási lehetőség, inkább kevesebb, mint több sikerrel, de a Vöröskereszten és helyi szociális szervezeteken keresztül biztos vagyok benne, hogy akinek módjában áll és akar is segíteni, az tud. Legyen ez is girlpower! Hogy is mondja a tesco? A legkisebb is számít

Let women be. Let women grow. Let them flower. Let's stop the stigma on period flow. According to @unicef 2.3 billion people lack basic sanitation services. Most girls have their first period and are unaware of what's happening to them. This is the result of lack of education & awareness about menstruation/periods as it's never openly discussed. During this lockdown most of our work may have come to a halt but periods have not.
