Tai Chi Chasers - Submitter either made a mistake or outright lied about the year this show was released. They stated 2011, but the actual year is 2007. That’s before 2010, which disqualifies it from this tournament.

Tian Guan Ci Fu/Heaven Official’s Blessing - made it to Tumblr’s top AniManga fandoms. It was ranked #14 in 2021 and #16 in 2022.

Mignon - what a dynamite series! I highly recommend it!

It’s a BL Korean animated series, 12 episodes which are just a few minutes long each, so overall, about an hour or so of actual watch time.

It’s on Vimeo, first three episodes free and the rest cost a dollar each. I hear the artist worked on it for around 3 years, and it’s not a big production company so please don’t pirate it!

The series follows a young underground boxer who’s in love with a *slight spoiler* vampire doctor who fixes him up when his abusive coach and harsh job injure him.

The series has great animation, amazing music, some killer sexy scenes (episode 12 has a sex scene), and an angsty yet cute story.

Overall, for such a little story, it does a great job reeling the viewer in and leaving them satisfied (mostly, I’m off to look for others who’ve seen it to squeal and hopefully find some fanfiction). The two main characters are lovely, and you really want to root for them.

Jotting down some thoughts about Only Friends Episode 4:

That first scene with Ray broke me, that feeling of worthlessness and how everyone must hate you hit a little too hard for me

I was right thinking that Ray is closer to Mew than the others (and maybe vice versa), possibly because Mew is his emergency contact and saved him when he was feeling suicidal; which reminds me of when Ray told Sand that it was his turn to save him after Sand took care of him while he was drunk

That one person's theory that Ray is using Sand as an emotional replacement for Mew, who he already holds on a pedestal and probably is attached to Mew more than he likes Mew, is probably true. Idk I'm not really analyzing but I genuinely feel that Ray uses people as an emotional crutch in order to get things from them that he never got from his own mom - love, compassion, someone to hold

Cheum is so me: "Ray, if I wasn't a lesbian I would love you"

Side note: I love scenes where all four of them are together and doing friend stuff even though they're all backstabbing each other (except Cheum, bless her)

The fact that Boston saw his two close friends kiss and recorded it, kept it for two years without saying anything is so???????? I want to crack open his head and figure out whats wrong with him

Ray saying Sand is not his type after he had his tongue down his throat not 30 minutes ago is??????????

why do I have the oddest feeling that Mew has some kind of background with dealing with addicts cuz that "quit drugs" speech was a little too impassioned. like a previous family member or someone was an addict and now he no longer wants to take care of people who are addicts because of how emotionally exhausting it is. maybe this theory is coming out of my ass but it might explain why he keeps Ray strictly as a friend (since not only is he an alcohol addict he also does cocaine???? boy are you trying to kill yourself?) and he gets mad at top for also doing drugs

i thought mew would use sex as a way to prove that he and ray were strictly friends, not as a reward to get top to stop doing drugs. i'm so flabbergasted and also top is kinda weird for wanting sex as a reward for taking care of himself but whatever

now I'm distracted at the fact that Top brought a packet of cocaine with him to Mew's place like??? was he planning to sniff a line while Mew was sleeping or...?

Aziriphale is angry with Crowley,

Or as angry as his nature can tolerate without feeling guilty. Which in Azeriphale's case consisted of feeling rather disappointed, cross, and a little hurt, rather than the standard intense urge to call forth lighting to smite down who ever displeased you.

He did want to forgive Crowley. forgiveness is one of his favorite things, and he got immense satisfaction from doing it and he feels he's quite good at it.

At this moment though.

Abstinence, he felt, is also a good virtue that he, as an Angel, can exemplify*

*(unless of course he was asked to abstain from partaking in sushi, chiffon cake, filet mignon, crepês, oysters... well I think you see the point)

After Crowley's latest flame-up *(in that he had been both very ubset and on fire) the "I was wrong" song/dance just wasn't going to cut it...*

*(he'd already tried)

He was going to have to do something terrible, something unthinkable for a demon. So embarrassing that if anyone else saw what he was doing he would never be taken seriously again by heaven or hell.

It could mean the death of him...

Crowly serenades Aziriphale using a song by "Franky Valley" (an Azirphale favorite).  He hopes that by using the lyrics as a viechle, he can say what he feels honestly without his demonic rationalities* (or rather the insecurrities that had gotten him into this mess with Aziriphael in the first place)* interfering.

His voice cracks like the words are being painfully strangled out of him, forcefully and against his will. figuratively speaking though it could be said to go even a step further than that.* (it should be also said that at the way it's going, he may have to physically start to strangle himself to put an end to his nervous hissing)*

Crowley, as he begins his prostrated psalm, is engaged in a heated battle of wills within himself as he bites out mawkish lyrics that, despite their fluff, cut into his deeper feelings like a sharp doctor's knife and then began to rip them out of him, like they were to be displayed in jars of formaldehyde like feet and tumours and other grotesque specimens collected by resurrectionists.

But to Aziriphale, unaware of Crowley's painful effort, it seems like Crowley's usual begrudging-ness to apologize, only slightly elevated due to the increased humiliation he was no doubt struggling to endure, but still lacking in the humility Aziriphale thought he deserved from the demon.

He steels his resolve further, to remain un-budged by the display...

Sensing Aziriphale turn colder, Crowley plunges further to dig out his forgotten heart and force it open. Like going full gas, 100 mph in a 33' Bently through blazing hellfire all over again, he resolved himself to see it through. Even if he caught fire (which he was beginning to feel like he might... Again... )

And he thought that if he could do that, then he could damn well get through this song!

He's singing now, actually singing, not just spitting the words out like they were a fly in his mouth.

He'd gotten past the hard bits of the song. The bits about Heaven, and God, and a 4 letter word beginning with L that he sort of muttered, his pronunciation sounding like he had only just managed to stop himself from being sick.

But now he was singing, his voice carried out and he felt embarrassed at the number of emotions that seemed to tremble through it.

He couldn't remember when the last time he sang was, if he had ever at all. Maybe it was before he had "sauntered vaguely downwards", when he was still a part of the heavily choir praising god (when he wasn't busy building galaxies and nebulas and constilations).

Or maybe it was a couple of centuries ago in a bar drawling out a funny tune in merriment with sloshed company. Or it could've been yesterday singing along with Freddie absentmindedly knowing all the words from their constant repetition. The point was he couldn't remember if he had ever actually sung, but he certainly had never sung like this before.

He began to move too,

He had planned to dance. He didn't plan a dance perse *(attempting to choreograph a dance for a confession/apology was taking the embarrassment too far he felt)* He just sort of glided and swayed in the way only he could, in a manner that felt the right way to go about it when he'd seen it performed by others. Dancing certainly had felt more natural than singing to him till now.

Azeriphale's eyes widened in astonishment and he could feel himself start to twitch. He'd started to feel sort of tingly all over, like his body was trying to tell him something but his thoughts just hadn't caught up yet. All the chocolates, that he had indulged in earlier like he was attempting to stuff a deep void, felt like they had transformed into a swarm of rowdy caterpillars and were now dancing the gavotte! *(Of course the chocolates-turned-caterpillars could've been dancing any number of dances but the gavotte is what Aziripheal knows best)*

Crowley was staring at him.

This wasn't new and it wasn't as if he'd only started again a second ago. He had been staring since he'd come into the shop, he'd felt it and it hadn't ceased. But Aziriphale suddenly felt embarrassed about it. As Crowley sang, Azeriphale suddenly got the feeling that they were both remembering 6000+ years of that stare. And suddenly it wasn't just a stare, it never was, it never had been.

6000+ years and only now he knew what it had meant. The meaning it held now as their eyes glued together.

Crowley slid forward.

Aziriphales's face grew hot, the catterpillars had metamorphosed into butterflies that we're now fluttering in a hurricane of anticipation.

He took in a sharp breath.

The black slits of Crowley's eyes shook, advancing further, finishing the refrain...

Wanted to just jot down my idea and ended up with a full-on drabble of at least 1000 words (I think anyway, I didn't count). Hard to write out and illustrate in words what you see as more of a colorful musical number visualisation in your head.

Divine inspiration triggered by the "I was wrong" dance from episode 1 of season 2 (It lives in my head rent free) and a favorite of mine "Can't take my eyes off of you" by Frankie Valli.

What if Crowley and Aziriphale fought and the only way Crowley could think of to get Aziriphale to accept his apology is to confess his feelings and the only way to do that was to masquerade them in an"I was wrong" dance trojan horse?

(side note I need a gif of Crowley doing the I was wrong dance like I need air to breathe and food to eat, additionally I would give my left arm, my college tuition and my soul to see David Tennant as Crowley perform this song)

Après lecture ( attention spoil ) :

J'ai bien aimé les mésaventures de Lou fa à la nouvelle Congrégation et qui part à la recherche d'Allen dans tout les couloirs, c'est à la fois marrant et touchant car on voit à quel point elle aime Allen et sa me fait dire que même maintenant qu'il est en cavale, Lou Fa continue de le soutenir elle aussi et de croire en lui quoi qu'il arrive et c'est vraiment beau et adorable de la voir ainsi . Il y à pas mal de passages qui sont drôle et elle rencontre pas mal de personnes en cours de route qui l'aide et avec qui elle à des échanges ( je rassure, je vais pas tout raconter hein XD ). Le petit spoil ici qui va bien c'est que Chaoji ( petit con ) à remarqué l'attirance de Marie envers Miranda et Marie le réfute tout timide, trop mignon .

Côté Allen et Mana ( attention car là je vais bien spoiler ) :

Alors déjà, je peut vous dire que ce qui se passe dans le Roman est pratiquement pareil que ce que l'ont voit dans le Manga en ce moment ! A quelques différences près évidemment car on n'y voit pas Apocryphos entre autre. Mais beaucoup de scènes sont extrêmement semblable à ce qu'on voit en ce moment dans les Chapitres ! Les coups reçu par Red ( uniquement appelé Bras-rouge ici ), le rapprochement entre Red et Allen ( chien ), la jalousie de Cosimo, nous avons même un des plus beaux passages du Manga retranscrit bien avant dans le Roman avec Red et Mana assis à regarder un coucher de soleil magnifique !! ^^

Aussi, on peut grâce à ce Roman avoir une idée assez précise de la suite du manga . Nous apprenons que Red s'en prend physiquement à Mana ( de rage de ne pas le voir être en colère contre Cosimo ) et il le frappe avec son bras gauche ( autrement dit : son innocence et ça serait ça, plus la tristesse de Mana qui aurait conduit à l'apparition du Comte ! Sauf que, dans le Roman il est noté que Mana se trouve dans un coin du cirque à perdre la tête et le Comte se trouve dans le Cirque ! Comment Mana qui; on le sait maintenant; est le Comte peut se trouver en 2 endroits distincts ?! Se pourrait-il que cette dissociation expliquerait encore plus comment Mana humain s'est retrouvé en Akuma ? Ne laissant plus qu'Adam en lui ?!

D'autant plus qu'après cette apparition ( en plus le Comte avait transformé des gens en charpie avec ses Akuma dans le Cirque ) lorsque Allen; qui avait était mis en cage mais en est sorti grâce à Tim ; retrouve Mana celui-ci à complètement perdu ses souvenirs et est persuadé que Red est Allen ...

Quoiqu'il en soit dans le Manga, Red ne s'en prend pas physiquement à Mana mais on se retrouve pratiquement dans la même situation : Cosimo accuse Red ( ici à cause d'Apo ) et pour se défendre Red active, sans s'en rendre compte, son Innocence alors..... se pourrait-il que dans le(s) chapitre(s) à venir nous voyons Mana perdre le contrôle du Comte comme dans le Roman ? Si oui, et que la suite ce passe a peu près comme dans le Reverse, alors nous approchons à grands pas de la fin du Flash-back !! .

PS : Et on à vu tout ça et même plus dans les Chapitres centré sur le Passé d'Allen ! ^^

some thoughts on swap AU neuro:

in making him the human this time, ive had to do some thinking as to what that means for how he acts, so hes definitely Not The Same As Canon (who i know for a fact that i write well). readmore'd for some spoilers, which i'll take forever to get to anyway.

i. definitely let him get pretty fucked up from his Character Development Murders (which are going to resemble the anime, insofar as solving them is going to be a lategame affair and a Whole Fucking Thing), because, lets be frank. hes not the type to talk to anyone about anything. he is not forthcoming. hes going to just tolerate his own shit and never ever let anyone else in on it (annoyances too inconvenient to fix right now for a busy guy like him). he thinks he's fine, and if anyone else notices that he definitely Isn't, he really does not take it well, which is already apparent, but will definitely be fun later.

he still can't stand unnecessary deaths and will absolutely go out of his way to try and prevent them, but it does become a bit more common when you AREN'T the murder demon this time. he really does some important, kind things for others while acting like he's an aloof, cynical, catty bitch. he acts scary and off-putting as a kind of self defense (see above), but he really is a lot nicer than he lets on, even if he still can't resist a rude joke or prank.

i also made him a huge foodie because that's just what he is. he demands the filet mignon of murders, so naturally, that translates quite well for the swap. for some extra jokes and jests, he DOES have a fursona, and he's making vore jokes because it's funny. thanks

Review:

When a trip to Rome between famous influencer Amelia Ashley and her boyfriend Josh ends with him coming home alone things are about to get messy as Amelia has essentially disappeared and now people are demanding to know what happened to her and Josh is suspect number one... especially since they found her blood in his suitecase. Josh maintains that he is innocent... or is he? Enter Harper Delgado, a hacker who happens to go to school with Josh... and when a friend of Amelia and Josh asks her to search for Amelia because she just knows something is off with Josh and that something is wrong with Amelia, Harper finds herself entranced in the case and who Amelia Ashley truly is. Amelia is a popular food and travel influencer... so soon the world’s attention is on Josh and now we will have to see what happened to her and who she truly was... and who Josh truly is.... but there is one missing piece, two years ago another girl went missing and no one ever mead headlines or hastags about her but she is deeply connected to Amelia’s own disappearance.  The story was an interesting one told in multiple POVs and parts, we start off with Josh and his current situation and move back to Amelia’s past and then to Harper as she cracks the case. The book ends super abruptly, like it’s a bit unsatisfactory because it could definitely use an epilogue or two or three more chapters discussing the ending of the case and what happens to all the characters. Overall it’s an interesting mystery that could have been better if the ending was more fleshed out and certain characters made different decisions but overall a good mystery.

 SPOILER:Also the final confrontation was a bit dumb because I mean after all your meticulous planning and revenge plot, you are going to face off against someone who you thought killed your sister and not call the police, alert, the media, or even carry a weapon or self defense thing???? Dumb. So out of character for her too. Everything was going so well until the end and I was just kinda frustrated with how abrupt the ending was and the decision of the character in the way she approached the guy she was trying to get revenge against.... seriously. 

*SPOILER* Amelia Ashley is actually Amelia Lee ( a half chinese half white girl) who completely changed herself and passed as white to become an influencer all to get revenge against Josh. Josh who changed his name and is actually Bennett, the guy who was dating Amelia’s sister Mignon before she went missing. Amelia knows Bennett is involved and she just wants to find her sister, even if it means creating a whole new fake personality and playing the long game to get revenge against him she is willing to go to any length to finally find her sister even if it just means finding her body. The truth is Josh is obsessive, possessive, and unhinged. He killed Mignon after she tried to break up with him and he buried her body in his family’s property. He digs up her body again and Amelia catches him and then he tries to kill her too but Harper has already been following the case and figured out who Amelia is, she  also released all the info into the press. The book ends with Amelia stabbed and Harper coming into the woods to save her as she also called the police to arrest Bennett/Josh.
