Back in 1970, at #TheClintonHouse in #ClintonNY, a customer asked for “a special pasta dish,” prompting #CNY restaurateur/chef #BobbyHazleton to whip-up a dish he called #ChickenRigatoni. Then, in the late 1980s, over at #ChesterfieldsRestaurant in #UticaNY, a chef named #MikeSchulz (who’d previously worked for Hazleton) took Hazelton’s recipe “a very, very light marinara sauce with rigatoni, chicken, and onions” and refashioned it with “onions, sweet peppers, cherry peppers, white wine, marinara sauce, and grated cheese,” dubbing the revamped dish #ChickenRiggies.
