THIS is what you payed for.
Remember when Vunder was asking for money for the MCSM recreation map for several years? At first he was releasing it peace-meal as donations came in. But those donations were slow and took MONTHS to reach his extremely HIGH milestones.
Well, he finally decided to just give up and release the whole completed map for everyone to have. Naturally I downloaded the map when he released it, but I was so bitter from fighting with him for so long that I didn't want to even touch the map. It's been sitting up there for nearly a year now.
I decided to finally check out his map and for the most part it's good...
But then I found this:
Tumblr media
Location -231 111 121 in the map. Literally only a few hundred blocks from spawn. Vunder was asking for MONEY for this map. If you paid him money, you bought yourself a map with a swastika in it.
I confronted him about it immediately and his response was "LMAO some builder put that in as a joke!"
Tumblr media
Sorry Vunder, but I have higher standards than you. No amount of "joking" excuses this. If you let it slip because it's a joke, you're a shitty project lead at best and an antisemite at worse. And given that his response to me was that "religion is a way to control people" I am leaning on the later.
This map has been up for download for close to a year. He was asking for HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS for this map. If you paid for this map, you inadvertently contributed to this man and his "team" of people who thought including a swastika was "funny."
I'm Jewish, by the way. In my experience people who think including swastikas as jokes are not usually far away from the types of people who include them for reason they're intended for.
To be fair he has said he's going to remove it, but that doesn't excuse how long this flew under the radar and how long it was up on his site for download or for his careless attitude in letting it slide as a "joke" by one of his builders. And it's right by spawn. I found this just by flying through the map in a few minutes. He's supposed to be the leader for this map project.
So either he's careless and didn't notice it, saw it and didn't care, or built it himself and is now panicking that someone caught him.
I really thought I was done with his bullshit. But you can't make this crap up when it comes to Vunder and his cronies.

MCSM Music Resource Pack
I made a Minecraft Story Mode Music Resource Pack for 1.19.2!
Tumblr media
I went through all the original music from MCSM and picked songs that I felt best translated to similar vanilla Minecraft music!
Get an immersive MCSM musical experience with this pack!
I can’t host this on Planet Minecraft because it’s so large.
You can download the file here.
Just download the 94mb ZIP file, put it in your resourcepacks folder, and then when you load up version 1.19.2 you can add the resource pack to your game!

THANK YOU!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU! I don’t care if there aren’t any textures, the block placement is the most important thing for me at the moment! I can actually LOOK at these files now and zoom through them and ensure that the correct number of blocks are being used in all the right places and see stuff the camera normally wouldn’t see!
Of course this will take some time to sort through, but OMG! Thank you SO MUCH for helping convert those TellTale meshes into something usable!
I have already built some of these builds by eye, but this will actually help me ensure that my eye is correct and help me fix any mistakes or fill in any areas I had to fudge because the camera wouldn’t see it! Again, thank you so much!!

This is the RAW data I got from a user who sent me converted files which I then converted into an obj. Ignoring all the garish colors and AWFUL lighting I added... Look at all that extra information I never knew existed! I didn’t know the cabin had windowsills and a small farm on the side!
Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Yeah... no...
We’re never getting the full release.
Ever.
Vunder was mad at me because he felt my tumblr posts about his gofundme campaign was damaging his ability to make enough money for future releases. So a few months ago Vunder and I agreed to stay in our lanes. I wouldn’t post about his project, and he wouldn’t sic his discord group on me.
But now It’s been MONTHS...
And there’s STILL been no sign of a new release even coming REMOTELY close yet...
Fans of the project are frustrated and begging him to lower the price because they actually WANT to fund it. But what Vunder is asking for is far too steep. And Vunder is such a greedy lil’ diva that he REFUSES to budge on his asking price because he feels he’s OWED this money....
For a re-creation of a franchise that he didn’t make, that’s copyrighted to Mojang, which is out of print and unavailable through any sort of legal distribution, and is 10x the asking price of the game itself when it was initially released. Huh...
Vunder my dude, the problem isn’t me. The problem is you’re asking for TOO MUCH MONEY. And fans, while they WANT to be supportive, can’t afford your asking price!
So this map just sits there.
Dead to the world.
Hoarded by a greedy kid.
I’ve done what I can for the MCSM community. I ripped both games, translated textures into locked maps that you can import and decorate your maps with, and even added my own texture pack that emulates the variations of MCSM textures. For free, I might add...
If I could rip the 3D models themselves and re-create my OWN block-accurate versions the way Vunder has, I would do it. And I wouldn’t charge a cent for it.
But unfortunately the tech that Vunder used was proprietary (or at the very least is no longer available on sites HE posted about). So once again, Vunder is hoarding and gatekeeping the ONE THING that any of us could to do attempt the same thing he did.
Greedy, selfish, asshole.

Mistakes Part 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s start easy. In Jessie’s Treehouse there are a number of incorrect textures and block placements. Posters are in the wrong location, and there are a ton of missing set decorations.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Outside jessie’s house there should be a field of roses from Jessie’s training montage. At the building competition there are missing booth signs, grass in the wrong location, fence posts missing or in the wrong location, and issues with background details.
Tumblr media
In Petra’s cave one of the silliest mistakes is putting the crafting table off by 1 block. A simple mistake that Vunder refuses to fix.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The most egregious error is the location of Endercon. You can see in the overhead view that Vunder attempted to put Endercon in the general location of where you can see it in the game... but clearly not in the right location because you can’t see it in the map from the same angle. A simple shifting of chunks could easily fix this. In addition there are houses that would be in front of Endercon seen from this angle, and they are nowhere on his map at all. So even if he got the location right, there would still be an issue.
Tumblr media
And lasty for Part 1 here’s the bridge scene. Mostly correct but this batch of stones at the bottom is the wrong texture.

The Mods Say NO!
After a heated discussion on Planet Minecraft’s forums, my thread about what Vunder is doing got locked. But before it was locked a moderator put up a very message about what is or isn’t allowed on their website:
Tumblr media
Vunder uses meshes that were ripped directly from Story Mode and imported into Minecraft to be used to ensure his builds are “accurate.” This, along with the fact he’s refusing to post parts of the map until he receives certain donation goals, goes against what is allowed on Planet Minecraft’s site as stated by their own moderators.
And yet Vunder insists that these rules do not apply to him. Hmm...

Welcome!
Minecraft user Vunder has made an incredible map re-creating every scene from Minecraft Story Mode in vanilla Minecraft.
However there are a few issues with this map and the way in which it’s being distributed.
First, he’s trying to raise donations before he’ll release sections of the “supposed” completed map. Since the contents of this map are re-creations of copyrighted material he does not own the rights to, and Mojan’s website specifically says you cannot profit off content they own, this is illegal.
Second, while his map is purported to be 1:1, there are a LOT of mistakes in textures and block placements and no matter how many times these are pointed out he refuses to improve his map for the benefit of the fans of Story Mode.
As such this blog will be dedicated to posting screenshot comparisons on mistakes found in his map. Explanations on how they can be fixed. And even some side by side comparisons of ways in which I’ve improved his map.
Is this being a little petty?
Oh, absolutely!
But if you’re gonna make yourself out to be the ONLY person who can make a true 1:1 recreation, you better be prepared to live up to that lofty expectation!

Lazy Lazy Lazy
You want more evidence for how LAZY Vunder is with this map?
Vunder’s version:
No lighting at all (I had to light it myself just to take a screenshot)
Missing block patterns on the wall.
Missing double axes.
Missing potion bottles.
No detail on the banners.
Not only couldn’t he place the armor stands ON the carpet, he even had to put up a sign indicating that there’s “no enderman head” in the game!
Tumblr media
Meanwhile in my map:
Tumblr media
I mean, come on! This is one of the FIRST ROOMS YOU VISIT in his map! Why doesn’t he care about these simple details?
For someone who’s supposedly good at coding and worked with a program specifically to help import meshes to make his builds accurate... he does the BARE MINIMUM in decorating and making the sets come alive!
How does Vunder have a whole “team” of builders and yet NONE OF THEM bothered to TRY and make these sets look right in the 2+ years they’ve supposedly been working on it????
Because they’re lazy. That’s how.
