My precious handsome Graham is going to the vet tomorrow because he is favoring his right leg. Mama hoomin is beyond blue and Papa hoomin too. Graham has been here for 9 years (except for a brief adoption) and is about #11yearsold. His longstanding eye discharge (which was only caused by pain) had been conquered as well as his ear buildup - probably also caused by pain. Now this. We added metacam to his pain regimen because as an anti-inflammatory, it could suspend e. cuniculi's process until we can get some e.c. meds tomorrow. We will tell the vet I want to treat for that regardless. Blood work will be done but it will take far too long to tell us what to start with. Please pray for our incredible fighter, the #InstaGraham man, our elderly #minilop. Hi hooms! Graham here. That silly phone-faced Mama hoomin finally figured out this new IG feature (new to her anyway). She seemed pretty pleased that my eyes didn't need warm compresses. And she stuck that phone in my ears too then said I only need one ear wash which I'll get later. My right ear barely even need it. Graham was so happy this evening to have his eyes get warm compresses and the fur around his eyes cleaned and brushed. He absolutely loves having his facial fur groomed. He closes his eyes and puts his head down gratefully waiting while I lovingly brush his precious face. He also enjoyed copious amounts of Oxbow barley biscuits. He rewards me by posing with his gobble held proudly. Nothing like a cute fluffy bunny butt to brighten your day! Graham continues to look awesome. Mama hoomin did do warm compresses on his eyes which he just loves. Then she had to gently wipe the fur around his eyes with special wipes because he had some food stains around there. He's SO cooperative with all this, he really is such a nice fellow. Graham also gave me a wonderful birthday present in that his eyes were perfect and didn't need more drops tonight. Warm compresses just under Graham's eye with a small cotton ball soaked in warm water, then squeezed and pressed gently on the area just under his eye where a rabbit's seldom seen tear duct is softens the duct and seems to expel discharge or debris. Any goobers seem migrate up to the lid where they're easily "grabbed" by the cotton ball without ever touching the eye. Graham is so cooperative, and he's set for another 12 hours until the next time. Mama hoomin just gave me my eye drops and is getting ready to be picked up by stretcher/ambulance to go for her MS infusion. My eyes are so much better! I think these hoomins have some use after all. I think it's time for me to go back to my pool. Does anybody hear me? Graham is a "frosted pearl" minilop. He's white with brown eyes and pastel grey "frosting" on his nose, ears, tail and gobble or dewlap. It's rarely that I get to see his gobble and he's self-conscious about it for some reason. So he pushed my hand away from him and gently just pressed his teeth on my skin to say, "I'm a nice guy but I have my limits."
