Cal Serni is a minimal house located in Monistrol de Calders, Spain, designed by Bouman. Originally intended to be revamped into a cellar and a social area for family gatherings, the project evolved to address a key architectural challenge: reconnecting the basement to the main house. This need arose from a past renovation that had sealed off the original staircase linking the two levels, effectively isolating the basement.

no, i agree with you! on both counts. sam joking around about nott’s thirst and sexuality is gross, but it’s always been clearly presented as bluster. i always remember him making a gross joke about putting perfume on just before reuniting with yeza — and jester eager for their reunion — and then nott going to sleep on the floor.

whether or not they tried to go any further than chaste kissing or not, it seems that the reluctance was probably mutual. nott doesn’t feel right, she doesn’t feel like veth, and while obviously i’ve never been in her situation i imagine that the thought of intimacy with yeza was just… scary. forget whether or not he’d reject her, it’s a completely different body. different anatomy. i am not sure, in nott’s shoes, i would even want to try it out. 

honestly, i kind of also like the implication that yeza wasn’t interested either. because. it’s been a long time, for the two of them. close to two years at least. and i love the idea that love conquers all, and i’m so pleased that yeza doesn’t give a shit about what body nott is in, he still loves her, but also: she’s a different species. forget cosmetic changes or disfigurments, nott is a different species. and i actually like the distinction: that yeza still loves her because she’s still her, but that is separate from sex and sexuality. maybe he’s just not attracted to nott sexually. maybe nott has no sex drive, or less of one, or maybe goblins are anatomically different in some way, and maybe that’s okay. maybe they tried and it didn’t work, or maybe nott wasn’t comfortable — even without her bandages and masks — exposing herself in that way, even with him. i like the implication, strangely enough, that it doesn’t matter. that they can be (temporarily) sexless and still be in love. that “ability to bone” is not a condition for their relationship.

anyway, i really wouldn’t be surprised if nott was the one who, all public jokes aside, was uncomfortable with intimacy with him in private, and was the one to reject him, to use much too strong a word for what i’m sure was a very gentle conversation.

I am a mess right now, i don't feel good. I can't believe that a client has stressed me out this much. I mean i have been making really good renders, like good quality stuff without any design info, just sort of making it up. And this client doesn't like anything, she doesn't even know what she is looking at, like im working really hard off of minmial info and she is expecting it to look like her vision. I am beat. So i will be working late again tonight to try to make something she can deal with. Hopefully we are not making anymore revisions tomorrow, which is the due date for all of this. Gosh dang, i hate this. Everyone else we have worked with has been okay i guess. But that is cause we only work with desingers and architects, never ever ever EVER WORK WITH A REALTOR!!!!

Learning Ionic 2

ionic 2 is a very interesting javascript library. It is a mobile app framework built on top of Angular 2. You can find a good documentation on ionic website: Ionic Documentation.

Ionic 2 uses Cordova for native API support. Cordova is also used for packaging (for native platforms, Android and iOS). You can use Ionic 2 just to build web apps (primarily, for mobile devices) without using native APIs. It has a bullt-in support for progressive web app (PWA), which I think is the "next big thing" in Web development.

I spent most of today learning basics of Ionic 2. The best introductory tutorial I found was a YouTube video by Ionic:

When learning new programming languages or frmeworks, you can take different approaches. You can start from learning all basics and foundations, step by step. For my to-do list app project, that approach is not suitable since I imposed a time limit of 28 days. Another effective approach in learning new skills is to learn absolutely minmial basics first and then learn necessary subjects "serendipitously". Youtube is a good place for this type of approach. For example, I found this series of videos covering a range of topics on Ionic 2:

Mama Tress is a minimal space located in New York, New York, designed by Prime Projects. Eschewing ostentation, the space is characterized by clean lines and incisive angles, which are tempered by warm neutral materials and finishes in light wood, embodying a certain tranquility amidst the city’s constant clamor.

Nightstands 1 & 2 are minimal nightstands created by France-based designer Ferréol Babin. Ferréol Babin dedicates half of his time collaborating with various furniture and lighting editors where he can incorporate his singular vision and approach of design. The other half is spent on making unique pieces, with an obvious brutalist yet delicate approach.

Maison à la Capite is a minimal residence located in Vésenaz, Switzerland, designed by Lacroix Chessex. The Route de la Capite 159 in Vésenaz is where this project is situated. The strip-shaped piece, which has a surface area of 464 m2, is typical of portions in the neighborhood (60 m long and 8 m wide).

BEEV is a minimal residence located in Beerse, Belgium, designed by i.s.m.architecten. The original design of this highly modernist single-storey house by Turnhout School architect Paul Neefs consists of a square of 16.5 x 16.5 m with a central space that runs diagonally between two circle segments.

Alexandra Drive is a minimal extension of a London, United Kingdom home designed by studioSH. studioSH were engaged for the extensive remodelling and upgrade of this 1930’s semi-detached property. The existing dwelling suffered from numerous ad-hoc extensions, the interiors were dated and the configuration was impractical.

Blueprint is a minimalist exhibition consisting of works created by Rotterdam-based designer Johan Viladrich. Blueprint was the first opportunity the designer had to display his work in its entirety and within a ‘controlled’ setting. For this show, he wanted to recreate an apartment-like situation. A space that the public could perceive as a livable environment, and in which the pieces would be displayed directly on the floor, without podiums, barriers or titles, as they would be in a home.
