Part One:

[Camera focus comes into view, showcasing a quiet room: white walls, a single table and a chair. The perpetrator is bound to the chair, quirk-suppressing handcuffs binding his wrists to the table.]

TOUYA: ...

[The door opens. The Bunny Hero, Miruko, walks into the room, immediately crossing to the table and folding her arms, eyes narrowed in a glare.]

MIRUKO: ... Oi.

[Her hands bang suddenly on the table, producing a loud clang.]

MIRUKO: You awake in there, dipshit?

[All of the chains that are being used to restrain the man rattle as he jolts suddenly before opening bright blue eyes. The camera is barely able to pick up his small and sluggish movements as he begins to come to.]

TOUYA: Wha... Chisaki?

[The mumble is barely heard over the sounds of him squirming, blue eyes scanning the area carefully before he suddenly stops and narrows his eyes. Quickly, his eyes find Miruko, his body tensing up before he quickly relaxes and sits back in the chair he's been bound to.]

TOUYA: ... Hey there, cottontail... Care to tell me where the hell I am?

[Her ears and tail both noticibly twitch.]

MIRUKO: 'Cottontail'... You better watch yourself before you get your stinkin' mouth kicked off.

[She straightens again, putting her hands on her hips.]

MIRUKO: Sides... I'm the one askin' the questions here. [She lets out a huff.] You've been brought in on account of- well, let's just see. You even remember anythin' before you got yourself in cuffs, asshole?

[His hands curl into fists before he flattens them back against the table, eyes flickering down to stare at the cuffs for a moment before he's looking up at Miruko again.]

TOUYA: What else am I supposed to call ya? Thumper? Flopsy?

[He chuckles, beginning to fidget again before stopping himself as the chains start to rattle with the movements. His tilts his head to the side, peering down at his binds carefully as the corners of his lips pull downwards into a tiny frown.]

TOUYA: How the hell am I supposed to be answerin' questions when you got me all chained up like this? Christ, I'm not a damn villain...

MIRUKO: I have a name.

[Her stare is even, unimpressed, just barely edging towards impatient as she watches him fidget.]

MIRUKO: And you got a mouth, so it seems you can actually answer questions pretty damn easily. Now, I'd love to believe that you ain't actually some shitty criminal and I'm just wastin' my afternoon with all this, but-

[Miruko lifts a folder up and tosses it towards him. Inside the folder was all the information they managed to get on him, including pictures of the scorched scene he'd left behind on the UA campus lawn.]

MIRUKO: Trespassin' and attempted arson looks like crimes to me. Wouldn't you agree?

[He focuses in on the pictures first, gazing carefully at each and every one of them. His face betrays nothing as he then moves on to survey all of the other papers, the corners of his lips twitching as he looks up at Miruko ]

TOUYA: You know that stalking is a crime too, right, cottontail?

[There's a small, smug smile sitting on his face now, one that doesn't quite reach his cold gaze.]

TOUYA: 'Sides, this still doesn't give reason for me being this chained up this much... 

[Slowly, his fingers stretch and pull the picture of his hero license closer, tapping his pointer finger against it a few times.] 

TOUYA: 'Specially not when you've already seen this, unless, of course, you wanna start accusin' me of a few more crimes...

MIRUKO: I have a name. But yeah, I'll bite.

[Miruko sneers right back at him, gaze just as cold as her teeth bare. She reaches forward, giving the same picture a few aggressive little taps.]

MIRUKO: Your 'name' ain't in our hero registry. Which means this is a forgery, 'less you wanna start explaining why you're carryin' around some bootleg license around with ya. Vigilantism is a crime. 

[Another tap, this time towards his name.] 

MIRUKO: And so is identity theft. So I'll give ya five seconds to summarize what your deal is before I proceed with the protocol... Which, you're totally familiar with how all that works, right? Mister Burnout.

[He still doesn't lose that smug smile, now slowly drumming his fingers. For a few moments, the repetitive sound is the only noise in the room, blue eyes trained somewhere above Miruko's head. Another few seconds tick by and suddenly he huffs out a little laugh, gaze snapping back to hers.]

TOUYA: C'mon, even those brats could figure it out... Are you tellin' me that you're dumber than a bunch of high schoolers, cottontail? 

[He huffs out another smug little laugh, empty eyes staring right into Miruko's.] 

TOUYA: It's some dumb fuckin' alternative universe bullshit, apparently, meanin' that my license is perfectly valid, or at least, it's valid where I came from.

[Slowly, he tilts his head to the left and then to the right, a tiny sigh leaving his lips as the room is filled with the sounds of his neck cracking.]

TOUYA: It also means that I'm not committing identify theft, which is kind of unfortunate... 

[He picks his head back up, face now matching the blank gaze that he's been sporting this whole time.] 

TOUYA: I'd honestly really love to be anyone else other than Touya Todoroki, but that'd probably take a whole fuck ton of paperwork.

[Her expression doesn't change. She's still sneering, though something like disgust starts to build behind her eyes.]

MIRUKO: You can answer a question without all the bullshit, Burnout. 

[She moves to gather all the files together again, slow with restrained frustration.] 

MIRUKO: There hasn't been an alternate I've come face to face with that hasn't tried to dirty their hands. Frankly, I'm fuckin' sick of it all, so excuse me for bein' a little skeptical when the person you're apparently an 'alternate' of hasn't been seen for years to compare against.

[She finishes collecting the pages, straightening them with a sharp sound against the table.] 

MIRUKO: Regardless, you still trespassed and you still got attempted arson on the books. You wanna get those charges off, you better start learnin' to be nice. I dunno what shit excuse for heroism you had in your 'world' but that shit you're doin' to try and act cute ain't gonna fly here. Now...

[An expectant look, even more impatient than before.] 

MIRUKO: 'Less you got one more annoying thing to add...

[As Miruko's words start to trail off, he starts to shift around in his seat once, hands curling back up into fists like they had earlier. This time, he doesn't try flattening them against the table like he had last time, blue eyes gazing around at the room before looking down at the handcuffs that are clasped tightly around his wrist and keeping his quirk in check. Silently, his Adam's apple bobs once and he moves his gaze upwards, looking at Miruko.]

TOUYA: Himiko's fine, right? I didn't... 

[He sounds almost pained to be asking this, left hand carefully bouncing up and down without hitting the table. ] 

TOUYA: I didn't hurt her, did I? I... I honestly have no fuckin' clue exactly how... bad I was and I... I need to know that I didn't hurt her too.

[He looks back down at the table, shifting his arms as much as he possibly can without making too much of a racket. His gaze is now hidden behind under bright red hair but his voice is a bit softer now, almost as if he doesn't really want to be heard.]

[An eyebrow raises and one of her ears twitches and lowers as he speaks up. For a moment, all she does is stare at him, searching his expression. Internally, she swears... She has been going soft lately, she knows it, if she can suddenly feel her stubborn aggression against him slightly, slightly shifting...

Irritating. She sighs.]

MIRUKO: Nah. You didn't hurt her. [She does note the name, though. It's a nice thing to confirm.] She's facing... some similar charges. But there's not a scratch on her.

[He rolls his shoulders, breathing out a silent sigh of relief at the confirmation that Himiko isn't injured from his little... outburst.]

TOUYA: What do you mean she's facing similar charges? She didn't fuckin' do anything.

[Carefully, he picks his head up, fidgeting coming to a stop as he gazes at Miruko with an expression that is easily passed off as something calm to the camera. From any other angle though, you could probably see the emotions beginning to flicker in his eyes before his gaze turns sharp once more, icing over so suddenly that it's like he never even stopped acting like a smug piece of shit.]

TOUYA: Is there some other reason you're being so... [He moves, purposefully making his chains rattle.] careful?

MIRUKO: An 'alternate' of my best friend is a fucking serial killer.

[She gives him a grim smile.] 

MIRUKO: So, yeah. We're bein' a little fucking careful. There hasn't been a version of your best friend that hasn't killed somebody. Which...

[Miruko eyes him for a moment, sizing him up.]

MIRUKO: ...

MIRUKO: Endeavor's son, huh? Explains the flames. Also explains the shit attitude. Bet you weren't all that popular in your universe, huh?

[He chuckles, eyes narrowing as he smiles sardonically up at the hero. He doesn't respond to the implication that there are others versions of Himiko that have killed people before, barely shoving back the anger that bubbles up at the thought of Himiko being anything other than a good, if not slightly unhinged, person.]

TOUYA: Oh, so you're gonna act like you believe me about that now?

[He mirrors Miruko, sizing up the bunny hero slowly, meticulously, before letting their gazes meet again.]

TOUYA: Thought you'd want to do some... [Purposefully, he opens his mouth just enough to let his tongue show, a small ball piercing glinting in the bright lights of the room before his mouth snaps shut again and he sneers at her.] testing before you started believin' me, cottontail.

[Miruko stares at him. Hard. Unimpressed. Her eyes flicker downwards, catching sight of the piercing, and her ears go flat against her head, trembling slightly.]

MIRUKO: You're not cute.

[She resists the urge to smack him in the head with the file in her hands, turning away instead.]

MIRUKO: And I have a name, Burnout.

[She huffs, heading for the door, opening it far more aggressively than she really needs to.] 

MIRUKO: I'll be right back--

[The door slams as she exists, leaving him alone for a moment...]

[As soon as the door slams shut behind her, he slumps back in the chair he's been bound to. Carelessly, he lets his head lull back, face now void of emotion despite how cocky he had been acting just moments before.

He takes a few moments to let the silence settle before he shifts in his seat, eyes closing briefly before snapping open again. Sluggishly, he turns his head, hollow gaze focusing on the camera. For a few moments, he stares blankly before a familiar, smug smile tugs at the corners of his lips.

Silently, he hopes to god that they won't leave him alone for too long because he really doesn't know how well he'll handle this damned silence.]

I'm Kaibara Sen, one of UA's students but that's.. mostly obvious I think most of this program is UA students. My Quirk is Gyrate. I can basically just.. rotate my body parts like a drill. It's mostly useful for hand-to-hand but I wear metal gloves so I can use my hands as legitimate drills also..

[Miruko frowns to herself. She's sitting just outside of Touya's cell, grimacing as she pokes through his files. She has his confiscated phone in hand, poking through the messages. With her other hand, she types a quick message to Shouto to see where she is, quickly passing instructions on how to get to his cell.]

MIRUKO: ...

[Shouto is close enough that he doesn't feel the need to reply when he gets directions, only making his way to the cell. He's stopped by a couple of guards, wondering what a teenager is doing there, but he's quick to explain and move on. Within a few minutes he's turning a corner and seeing Miruko, stopping there.]

SHOUTO: ...

[Her ears perk and twitch at the sound of him approaching. Miruko looks up as he turns the corner, gesturing him over.]

MIRUKO: Ey... Good timing. How ya been?

[He hesitates before walking over, awkwardly shifting as he tries to figure out whether to sit or stand.

He ends up crouching, just so that they're on the same level.]

SHOUTO: Fine...

MIRUKO: Good.

[She ruffles his hair briefly before jerking a finger towards the cell.]

MIRUKO: You know anythin' about this case yet or what?

SHOUTO: Uh...

[He thinks for a moment, almost distracted by the ruffle.]

SHOUTO: No.

MIRUKO: Right...

[She holds the folder out for him.]

MIRUKO: Two perps arrested for trespassin' on UA soil, one of 'em's gettin' a charge for arson on account of literally blowin' the fuck up all over the place.

[She shifts the pages until she can show him a picture of the security footage the guards had captured of the event. She points towards the blue flames.]

MIRUKO: Looks familiar, yeah? 'Course, it also looks different than, well, anythin' we've ever seen... Anyway.

[Another shift of the files. Miruko holds up a picture of Touya's hero license for him.]

MIRUKO: The guy's allegedly an alternate of your brother. You know at least something about this, right?

[Shouto stares, unresponsive, at the photo's and accompanying information.]

SHOUTO: Yeah.

[He answers without looking up.

Quickly, he grabs for the picture of Touya with his quirk activated. A sick feeling rises in him before he's shoving it away again, replacing it with the ID, looking over it carefully.]

SHOUTO: I talked to him a little.

[Miruko nods slowly. She shifts a little, offering him the phone she's still holding in her hand.]

MIRUKO: Yeah. I noticed.

[Their messages are still pulled up, fully on display.]

SHOUTO: Oh.

[As he realizes what it is his face pales, and he takes the phone and scrolls through quickly, like he needed to confirm what it is.

It's everything.

He holds it tight in his hand.]

SHOUTO: Um...

[She simply shrugs a little.]

MIRUKO: I'm the only one that's read this. If that helps at all.

SHOUTO: ...

[He's silent, thinking, maybe avoiding... really, he just doesn't know what to say.]

MIRUKO: ...

[Gently, she reaches for the phone again, easing it out of her grip. Absentmindedly, she starts deleting messages, one by one.]

MIRUKO: ... Really incriminating stuff. I mean, you didn't say much at all, but I got the gist...

[She deletes another message, quiet.]

MIRUKO: ...

MIRUKO: You really believe it's your brother in there? In some way or form?

SHOUTO: ...

[Shouto nods, slowly.]

SHOUTO: Yes.

[His voice is quiet.]

SHOUTO: ...

SHOUTO: No one else would know my father like that.

SHOUTO: ...

[It's a confession, and it hurts. He wants to take the words back the instant he's said them, but all he can do is bite his tongue and look down.]

MIRUKO: ...

[Miruko lets out a sigh before wrapping an arm around Shouto's shoulders. It's the only thing she can even comprehend doing...]

[Shouto is stunned still for a few beats, until he gets himself together enough to relax slightly.]

SHOUTO: ...

SHOUTO: I'm sorry..

[She just squeezes a little tighter.]

MIRUKO: You don't have to apologize, kid...

SHOUTO: ...

[He shrugs.]

SHOUTO: I don't know...

SHOUTO: ...

SHOUTO: It's... bad. [He breathes the words out.] Really bad.

[She keeps holding him, rubbing his back a little, trying her best to ground him.]

[He falters.]

[She nods slowly, just waiting for him to continue.]

SHOUTO: I think he might have killed Touya.. [His voice is eerily even for such a disgusting sentence to come out. It shocks him, makes him try to bury his own grave in Miruko, so he can lie in it, face the same fate as his brother. He can't help but think that it feels appropriate.]

[Miruko tenses, just slightly, at his words. Her grip on him slowly starts to tighten all the more.]

MIRUKO: ...

MIRUKO: What makes you say that?

SHOUTO: ...

SHOUTO: He wasn't seen again after a big fight with him... that's what I've heard... and...

[He starts sounding confused. His head is muddled.]

SHOUTO: Natsuo's said it a few times... that maybe dad just... and... I.. I think he'd do it...

SHOUTO: ...

SHOUTO: I think he'd do it to me, too, if I failed him... I think he'd kill me...

[Miruko... nods... It's all so hard to listen to. So hard to believe. Slowly, she lets go of him, staring at him, searching his expression.]

MIRUKO: ... Am I the first person you've ever told this to?

[Shouto doesn't have to think for long before he replies.]

SHOUTO: Yes.

[Another nod.]

MIRUKO: Okay.

[Another nod... and then she knocks their heads together in an affectionate little gesture, bumping her forehead against Shouto's.]

MIRUKO: I'm gonna kill him. [She lets out a huff, sitting back, her demeanor suddenly casual.] Hope you're good with that.

[Shouto's eyes go wide at the small gesture, and he looks up at her. Surprised. Not objecting, rather, curious.]

SHOUTO: Yeah...

[His demeanor changes with hers, but his relaxes, like he's relieved. Miruko reacting so... calmly takes a weight off of his shoulders.]

SHOUTO: That's alright..

MIRUKO: [She grins at him.] Good.

[Pocketing the phone, she returns to the file.]

MIRUKO: And I'm hope you're good to face your 'brother', because I want you in there. I want you to get used to the protocol, see how it works... identify him properly, for everyone's sake. Etc, etc...

SHOUTO: [He nods quickly.] Yeah... I can do that.

SHOUTO: Not sure how much I can help with identifying him though, I barely even saw him when he was around...
