I'm just putting this out there for the non-mls fans -
Atlanta fired their coach back in the early summer and rob valentino has been the interim coach through the play offs. They finished THIRTY FOUR POINTS BELOW inter miami in the regular season. They're apparently down 2 DPs?
And they beat the Messi/Suarez/Alba/Busquets team. This is a dream.

What's next for teams eliminated from MLS playoffs: From Lionel Messi's Inter Miami to Cucho Hernandez's Columbus Crew
Round 1 of the 2024 MLS Playoffs ended in the most dramatic way possible, seeing the No. 1 seed Inter Miami and Lionel Messi exit the postseason in a Game 3 loss to Atlanta United. The 2024 MLS MVP finalist led the Herons to the Supporters’ Shield while setting the all-time MLS points record during a campaign, but they fell short in playoffs. They weren’t the only team upset, though. In fact, the…

NY Red Bulls Defy Odds: Epic Playoff Upset Explained
The New York Red Bulls have been historically bad in the playoffs with only a small footprint of leaving the first round in the clubs long history. This season was a roller coaster for fans as they started off hotter than expected with the new faces gelling with the old and even Lewis Morgan who we had Bad Dawg Sports were told exclusively was fit as hell and took some heat for putting it out…

The Los Angeles Galaxy: Champions Once Again in 2024
The Los Angeles Galaxy, a name synonymous with success in Major League Soccer, has once again etched their name into the annals of history by clinching their sixth MLS Cup title in 2024. This victory, achieved against the New York Red Bulls, not only marks a significant moment in the club's legacy but also signifies a triumphant return to glory after a decade-long drought.
The journey back to the top of MLS has been a rollercoaster for the Galaxy. After last winning the MLS Cup in 2014, the team faced years of inconsistency, finishing near the bottom of the Western Conference standings in recent seasons. However, the 2024 campaign was different. It was a season of redemption, catalyzed by strategic changes in management and roster. The fans, which had previously boycotted matches due to the team's mediocrity, played a pivotal role. Their pressure led to pivotal changes, including the hiring of Will Kuntz as general manager, who orchestrated a remarkable turnaround.
The MLS Cup final was held at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, where the Galaxy has always been formidable. The match saw the Galaxy take an early lead with goals from Joseph Paintsil and Dejan Joveljić within the first 14 minutes, showcasing their potent attack. Despite a response from the Red Bulls with a goal by Sean Nealis, the Galaxy's defense, bolstered by the performances of players like Carlos Garces, held firm. The final score was 2-1, securing the championship for LA.
The absence of Riqui Puig, who had torn his ACL in the Western Conference final but played through the pain to assist the winning goal in that match, was a significant blow. However, the depth of the Galaxy's squad and the tactical acumen of coach Greg Vanney ensured they didn't miss a beat.
This championship win could herald the beginning of another dominant era for the Galaxy, much like the ones led by legends like David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Robbie Keane. The team has shown that with the right management, strategic signings, and a dedicated fanbase, they can return from the depths of the league standings to its pinnacle. The focus now will be on maintaining this newfound momentum, developing young talents like Gabriel Pec, and integrating experienced players like Marco Reus, who, despite not starting, contributed to the season's success.
The 2024 MLS Cup not only provided a record-extending sixth title for the Galaxy but also a warning to their rivals - the sleeping giant of MLS is awake and ready to reclaim its status as one of the league's top teams. As the Galaxy prepare for the future, the fans can dream of magical nights at Dignity Health Sports Park, and perhaps more legendary moments in the rich tapestry of LA Galaxy's history.

There's so much upset! Like Atlanta lost against Orlando! Atlanta!!! The team that beat Messi's Inter Miami must bow down to...ORLANDO!!! then on the other side of braket, Seattle manage to win against LAFC in extra time! Whaaaattt?!?! Then yeah.. the other LA team was cruising against Minnesota
The Semifinal will be really exciting! I hope The Sounders and my beloved bulls can go to final. And I really hope that the red bulls can shrug off their Spurs aura 🤞🤞

The Rondo: Assessing Mauricio Pochettino and the USMNT, making Juventus-Milan predictions and making sense of MLS playoffs
Mauricio Pochettino got the job done in his first duo of competitive fixtures for the USMNT, with his side running out 5-2 aggregate winners over Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League quarterfinals. It wasn’t always perfect, but these are the early days in the Pochettino era, and there’s a real buzz building around this team. It all feels like there’s more to come. But that won’t happen until…

New York, NY– The Philadelphia Union is one of the hottest teams in Major League Soccer this season, to the surprise of some. Most felt that with Jim Curtin parting ways with the Union, the team would have another off-year; however, Carnell is once again pulling some first-year magic. The Union has seen Israeli striker Tai Baribo continue his dominance of Major League Soccer, scoring 13 goals…
