The End of the Road

Thank you again for making Fandom Road a success! Sorry for the delay in getting this out - Was a little distracted by the US presidential election. Rev it up for the Immortan Donald, I guess. But hey, Fury Road is out in theaters with the black and white version, so at least we have that going for us.

I’ve started compiling all the submissions so far in a master list. I’m still working on it, so if you don’t see your post, give me a day or so! If it doesn’t appear after a couple of days, send me a message and I’ll add it asap.

I’m working on making all the links live in the submissions. Almost done!

I started adding the submitter’s name to their post to give them some more recognition.

So how do you participate in this recathon?

Find a Mad Max fanwork that you love! It could be a graphic set, a video, meta, fanart, fanfic, cosplay, whatever! As long as it’s a fanwork that’s posted on a site that allows comments, it’s fair game!

What’s the first step?

Leave a comment on that piece to let the creator know how much you appreciate what they’ve made for the fandom. It can be as simple as “Great job!” or “I love this!” or you can go into detail and leave them a review (and you’re definitely encouraged to do that!).

What do you do after you’ve left a comment?

Come back to tumblr and fill out this form (you can find it on the main fandomroad.tumblr.com page, too).

So there are two steps?

Why submit a form to this blog?

Fandom Road is designed to be a collection of Mad Max recs. By submitting the info about the story/art/costume that you like, you’ll be doing the creator a second awesome favor: spreading the word about their creation.

What happens at the end of October?

I’ll tally all the submissions and give out two Amazon giftcards: one to the person who submit the most recs and one to someone chosen at random.

Rules

What is this?

Fandom Road is a recommendation blog for Mad Max. From October 1 to October 31, users can submit links to their favorite fanworks, with the chance to win a gift certificate.

What do I have to do?

Leave a comment on your favorite Mad Max fanwork, here on Tumblr, at AO3, DeviantArt, or wherever the piece is hosted (as long as that site allows comments). Once you do, come back here and fill out the form with the work’s basic information.

The creator gets some feedback and some advertising - Maybe it’ll inspire them to do more!

What do I get out of it?

Satisfaction. And prizes! There’ll be two:

A $15 Amazon certificate for the person who leaves the most comments/recs, and

A $15 Amazon certificate picked at random. Each rec counts as one entry.

At the end of October 2016, I’ll tally all the submissions and select the winners.

Just Fury Road fanworks?

No, any Mad Max fanworks can be entered.

Why?

This is a fantastic fandom full of great people and great pieces. After the initial rush, the fandom slowed down. But with the release of another cut of Fury Road and rumors of the next movie in the series, I thought this was a good time to get people excited about Mad Max again.
