#mmmm i went into sotw completely blind so my impression of Tarantulas was wow this is a very creepy and good villian and... wait

It would have been SO easy to have Tarantulas love for Springer an extension of his horror mad scientist vibe, like being creepily possessive, seeing him as an experiment, caring more about his science or whatever. But no, Tarantulas genuinely loves Springer and wants the best for him, Tarantulas genuine love for his son in his one(1) redeemable quality to the point it could have made him better (even if Springer would have been worse u.u). And it is great and the story is all the more tragic for it and I have legit cried in public over Tarantulas and Springer.
