Messages like these are why our system created this blog in the first place, and are why we keep working at this blog no matter what. Iirc our blog's 1 year anniversary is coming up and the fact that we're still doing so much to make others feel safe, welcome and appreciated makes me so happy.

We get a good amount of hatemail from vicious, hateful people. The vast majority of it I don't post. There's no point in spreading that toxicity from ignorant people.

But getting messages like this makes it feel worth it.

I& can hold my& head high knowing im& bringing positivity and acceptance into this world while the haters waste their energy trying to tear down others.

Did your sicc style come naturally or is it something you have consciously developed

ooooo that’s a great question anon,,

i’ve always been more comfortable in masculine clothes even before i came out as transmasc - i can literally count on one hand all the dresses i’ve worn - and i’ve always preferred rock music and punk rock and alternative music etc... which really set me up for becoming involved in punk stuff,, but i’ve really only become invested and excited about the way that i dress in the past year or so

my hair was really long until i was 15 and then it’s been steadily getting shorter and shorter until i just had an undercut in like march,, and at that point one of my closest friends C felt confident enough to start dressing more punk and since then we’ve sort of done it together. she dresses more punk than me - i prefer darker more understated clothes while she buys neon clothes and covers them in patches and spikes and shit - but i’ve got a more punk taste in music and the music and the clothes are so intertwined in punk culture that it just made sense for me to dress in way that reflected my music and opinions.

we’ve made joint playlists and C has sent me websites and given me clothes and followed punk youtubers and podcasts and insta accounts for me and she really got the ball rolling,,, 

and since then i’ve consciously thrown myself into the punk scene. i’ve deliberately surrounded myself with punk queer people on tumblr and youtube and instagram and spotify who have been huge inspirations in the way that i dress. ive sought out punk shops and punk music people who get me excited. i’ve googled ways to mod clothes i’ve bought new patches i’ve made earrings and just had so much fun and i feel so much more confident because i actually care about the way that i look and it’s geuinely made me so much happier :))

I’m just tired, man. I’m gonna wake up tomorrow, and at approximately 9-10AM CST as per the usual for four years, I’m gonna get another reactionary anon from Zachary Yatt. You seem to have pissed your whole life away, and all you seem to use your energy for anymore is tunneling further away from the surface web, and inflicting pain and anxiety on innocent users just because someone who you THINK MAY HAVE known me sent you a mean comment once. We only talk about you because you force yourself upon us, Zach. I regret ever pitying you four years ago and letting you talk to me. I hope you see this and check yourself into an institution.
