Save Naini Lake

Juhi Chaudhary, a campaigner who's fighting to save "Naini lake" which is in model town, Delhi she lives across near the lake from her childhood she had observed that this Naini lake has suffered 2 major attempts to convert it into a park. she says these all attempts were done by real estate developers. after all these attempts the lakes has lost its natural beauty and converted into the unpleasant greenish black shade. despite its water, Naini lake stands like an oasis surrounded by houses and road with a walkway in reclaimed area. not only this, this lake is home to water snakes, pond herons, white breasted kingfishers majority birds like cormorants, fish species and resident ducks. she also shared childhood memories with us, buzzing of insects, the chirping of birds is all wrapped into an eerie silence. she and other residents who live across the lake, come together so that the concerned authority should wake up and do regarding for the same. through this campaign govt has started talking about reviving Delhi 600 water bodies with Naini lake as a role model;. people felt a sense of belonging & Naini lake has become our lake for them.
