Okay... I have been thinking on Mommyclan lore lately. It is decided! I have the general layout of how I'd like the story to go but-!

There are certain things I cannot say yet.... because I've decided to tie Cheetahchirp's secret backstory with Mommyclan's lore and it's past involving Daddyclan and the Great Divorce...!!

You will all be able to find out more when I have free time to make an askblog for Cheetahchirp! And then anyone interested in lore can try and get hints from any questions she answers! >:]

One thing I will confirm though!

Mommyclan is, literally and canonically, in the process of becoming a clan. Having no leader, deputy, or meditators are all part of the Mommyclan "story". In the present, Mommyclan is not yet complete. They are still pondering who their leader should be... perhaps arguing amongst themselves or waiting on a special sign from Starclan that has never come even after so many moons?

Why is Mommyclan building itself? Did the Great Divorce somehow leave it destroyed or was there some other disaster that has left them leaderless and without Starclan's guidance....?

can i make a mommyclan oc even though i can’t draw?

I do want everyone to have a chance to be included so yes. But in all honesty I say try!! Try to draw even just alittle doodle, there have been plenty of people who drew their characters on paper or only did tiny headshots, it doesn't have to be some 4 hour fully colored professional piece

Though, if you use a picrew, irl image, or any other pictures that don't belong to you I will probably not reblog it here, it just feels weird to me bc it's something thats not really yours.

Just typing out your characters description, personality and all the is cool too, but it just makes it a tiny bit harder for me to keep up with because there's no visual to remember it by and I'm like rlly image-brain oriented but I'll do my best!!

A: Honeydiamond is an ex-kittypet whom is now part of Mommy clan!

Q:Why is Honeydiamond no longer a kittypet/likes fences?

A: Her twoleg had a really messed up fence, so people kept coming to fix It, and she was super bored so she started building fences, then when his twoleg got rid of her he was super happy he could start using her skills to protect the clan that brought her in!

Q:Do The nails in his paws hurt him?

A: Nope! They’re kind of like stilts, making her slightly taller!

Q: What is Honeydiamond’s role in the clan?

"Who is the Mommyclan leader?"

Mommyclan does not have a leader or deputy. The positions are not open at the moment but I do plan to hold activities to decide them in the future.

The mediator was decided by me and will be announced after the discord is up.

Medicine cat postion... is technically open. We currently have 5 medicine cats. (Dewcall, Smokeweed(😭), Whippaw, Matchpaw, and another still in the queue)

I'd prefer you guys stick to other positions, but since we have so many cats, I'm honestly not bothered by the amount of healers. It just makes sense a big clan would have lots of them! Shrug

How many people are in mommyclan? Like actually

About 170 characters are in Mommyclan rn! Sooo take that number but consider that some people have 2 cats each, so it's not entirely accurate of our member count.

I don't have a full count yet, as I'm still slowly working on the official alligiences doc, and I've unfortunately had a few people deactivate on me too so it's alittle difficult to keep up with who's here, who's left, and the new members pretty much daily.

Once we get Mommyclan to the 200s, I think we should take over the world <3

"Is my oc in Mommyclan?"

To hopefully avoid getting this question over and over, here are my answers!

If I reblogged your character with the "Mommyclanner" tag, then yes, you're in! If I haven't done this, there could be a few reasons:

1. I have not seen your post yet. My notifications are very busy between my blogs, sometimes it takes me awhile to get to my @'s.

2. I have seen it, I just haven't reblogged it yet. Sometimes I put new cats in my drafts to queue them later. It is easier for me to queue multiple submissions together than individually.

3. I missed your submission. Sometimes I make mistakes. You can @ me again if you think I've done this.

4. If you used a picrew, irl cat image, or another picture that does not belong to you, I'm not posting it.

5. Your cat was not accepted. I know people get anxious but know this is VERY rare. Out of 200+ cats, I have only ever rejected maybe 4 for trolling, discourse, harassing me, or other uncomfortable topics. It is very unlikely that I have rejected your character, the chances are, one of the above options.

Give me a WEEK before you double @ or resubmit. Maybe two. I am ONE person. I have a life! I expect everyone to be respectful of me and my time, thank you.

P.S. Please check my most recent posts on @mommyclan and the discord announcements often to see if I am on break or hiatus, I go on day-to-week long breaks occasionally and go back to accepting cats when I return! :3

Clans always have those blocky cat head symbols and I’m wondering if mommyclan will have a symbol too

Not yet, but once the discord is up, I'm going to host an activity where you guys submit different ideas for a new Mommyclan symbol and then I'll make polls until we have our winning symbol, which I will make the icon for this blog.

"How do I join Mommyclan?"

In case people need specifics! It is coming to my attention that Mommyclan has grown enough the original post isn't clear.

To join you either reblog from this post with your characters ref, send an ask, or make your own post and @ me! If I reblog/post your character and reply with the "Mommyclan" tag, you're in! Please be patient with me! I can't respond to eveyone right away.

If someone already has two cats in Mommyclan can they have a “third” (A cat with an implied existence who is one of my characters mates or dead?)

Yes, I've had this question before and answered it in more detail here.

In short, you can have a "third" character in context of backstory or relationships, but instead of being a mommyclan character, they are considered an "extension" of a character.

Quick question are we allowed to make ocs related to our ocs ie Family Friends outside the the clan or in daddy clan and If we can do we have to like “submit them” or can we just make em whenever.

You can only have two canon Mommyclan cats, but everyone is allowed to include multiple outside characters in the context of backstories, relationships, etc.

Unless it's to join Mommyclan, they don't need to be submitted. Lots of characters have former exes from Daddyclan, kittypet partners or family members who are not in Mommyclan, but are still allowed to be included. I just don't consider them to be characters on their own, they're more like "extensions"? They have to be somehow related to or interacting with your submitted and accepted cat in some way, otherwise it's basically just cheating the rules to have multiple characters. But I haven't had that problem yet!

I think it's very fun to have backstories and relationships outside of the clan and I want everyone to be allowed to be as creative as they want!

For example, my oc Cheetahchirp has parents who are in his backstory. Neither of them are in or from the present Mommyclan and I don't plan to add either of them, but I will still draw them in art of Cheetah's childhood.

YES! I will probably make a separate blog entirely for Mommyclan after I've settled the discord so I can transition this blog back into posting canon centric art/etc!

Once I have the discord up, I have thought of a few activities I want to hold and they will all be announced on the Mommyclan tumblr blog as well!

where’s the list of cats?

Hi friend! Uhhhm there is not one currently!

I am working on a few docs with every character's name, ref, and a link to the op. As I am just one person, this is going to take awhile.

The closest we have is this by @/maxthegayass, with just names. But I do not believe it is being updated with new members nor do I expect this person to do so.

If you're looking for characters, your best bet is just searching "Mommyclanner" on this blog or "Mommyclan" on @mommyclaws

Yep. The discord server isn't even up yet, Mommyclan is a tumblr fanclan.

The discord will just be for quicker and easier communication, character interaction, suggestions, and updates, etc.

There is not! I started this kinda impulsively for fun and wasn't expecting so much attention so I wasn't initially prepared to keep things organized.

Is a list of Mommyclan something you guys are interested in? If so how should I do it? A google doc, a post? Something else? I could use help/ideas!

I don't know. I just think it would be extremely difficult for me to keep up with if everyone had three characters each. Maybe I'll change it one day, but not right now.
