It had been a hectic few days, between the move and your parents coming to town, Spencer couldn’t wait for a quiet moment with you. Standing a few feet behind you in the living room as you hover in the doorway, he can only hear half the conversation clearly as you coax your parents into their rental car.

“Yeah, we’ll meet you at Davey’s at 11. We won’t be late. I know you have to get to the airport, you’ll be fine. Goodbye, Dad.” You stress the last two words, waving at them pointedly. Over your shoulder he can see your dad throw his hands up in surrender, finally climbing the rest of the way into the car as he waves goodbye. He’s not sure if they can see him, but Spencer waves back anyway for good measure. 

Stepping back inside as they drive away, you let the door fall shut behind you. 

Silence descends on the room for the first time that day as Spencer’s eyes find yours. A soft smile plays at the corners of your mouth as you step towards him, your arms reaching out for him and he closes the distance in an instant, dodging around a moving box before wrapping you in his embrace. 

“Hi.” You whisper into the peaceful quiet, your eyes shining up at him.

“Hi.” He responds, bumping his nose against yours playfully. “Welcome home.”This earns him a happy sigh as you lean your head against his shoulder, your fingers playing absently with the sleeve of his t-shirt.

“We’re finally in.” This apartment had been a dream from the second you and Spencer had toured it, bright, open, and full of possibility. It still feels a little like a dream to him as he wraps his arms more securely around your waist and picks you up, spinning in place as you squeal with glee. He catches you up in a kiss as he sets you down, pressing your foreheads together briefly before pulling away to look at you.

For a moment you just take each other in, grinning like lovesick cheshire cats. 

“Holy shit we live together.” You say with a laugh that makes Spencer’s heart flutter in his chest. He brings his hands to cup your face as he laughs with you.

“We do.” He murmurs, “Finally.”

For the motivational prompt thing

Awesamdrunz (or AweSamDream) cuddling. Someone is purring maybe.

10 minutes of writing, minimal editing :]

AweSamDream Cuddling with purring:

Sam shifts ever so slightly, wincing as Dream snuffles in his sleep.

They'd been watching a football game on the tv, slowly migrating over to one another until Dream ended up flopped against Sam. It was cute at first, Dream's soft head of hair pushed against Sam's stomach, his arms loosely wrapped about Sam's hips, his breathing slow and soft and wonderful.

Then he fell asleep.

Now Sam can't move, because if he moves then he'll wake up Dream, but he has to move because he's sure that his legs are falling asleep.

Gingerly, Sam flexes one of his thighs before attempting to ease that leg out from under Dream's stomach. Dream snorts a little in his sleep, brow furrowing, and then presses himself tighter into Sam with a... rumble?

Is he purring!?

It sure SOUNDS like purring, at least to Sam. He sounds like Patches did when she came to cuddle with him every morning the first time he was here. He sounds like a cat.

Sam stares at him for a long minute, trying to figure out whether Dream's just breathing weird or if he's actually purring. His hands gingerly rest against Dream's broad shoulders. The purring continues, soft and steady and rumbly as he does so. It's not him breathing weird, by all accounts Sam's friend is GENUINELY purring.

Which is... in all honesty it's kind of cute. He's a big guy, larger than life sometimes, dwarfing most of their friends, so it's downright adorable that's he's been reduced to a purring ball of joy in Sam's lap on the couch.

Well it would be downright adorable if Sam's legs didn't feel like they were about to fall off.

He shifts some more, managing to free one leg enough to brace himself against the floor so he can untangle the other one. As he finally frees himself, however, Dream's purring slowly dies down and stops altogether, which makes Sam feel a little bad about leaving him asleep by himself like this.

Sam sighs, before carefully grabbing a blanket and a pillow from one of their baskets nearby and draping the blanket over Dream's dozing form. He slides the pillow under his head, carefully easing Dream's head up with one of his hands, and feeling the purring return as he adjusts the position of the pillow.

With that out of the way, Sam finally leaves the room, listening to Dream's soft purrs slowly fade as he walks down the hallway to his guest bedroom, where Patches seems to have claimed his pillow, purring up another storm.

The windows are open, the clean, cool breeze of the early morning stirring the sheer white curtains as I busy myself with making breakfast, washing the vegetables and beginning to cut the potatoes. Through the window, the trees cut sharp outlines out of the clear sky, the sun not yet peeking over the horizon. A soft shuffling behind me makes me turn from the counter, a smile breaking out over my face when I see my fiancé silhouetted in the blue morning light. He slumps through the doorway, rubbing his eyes with one hand while checking his watch.

"Good morning." I murmur as Spencer reaches me, his large, warm hands immediately grasping at my, well, his, t-shirt to pull me close.

"What're you doing up this early?" His sleepy grumble makes my heart melt and I abandon the food, snaking my hands around his waist. He hisses and pouts as my cold hands slip under his shirt, but that melts away when I press a soft kiss to the corner of his mouth.

"Wanted to make us some breakfast." He turns his head to catch my lips with his, the two of us melting together as I let out a soft, contented sigh. It was our first proper kiss in days. He'd been on a case in Michigan until late last night, when he slipped into our bed in the wee hours of the morning. My palms press flat against the warm skin of his lower back while his hands hold me by my waist. The kiss is slow and lingering, each of us trying to commit the moment to memory. His lips are soft against mine, tender as he cradles me against him. Too soon, he's backing away, laughing lightly as I chase him, hungry for another kiss.

"You spoil me, my love."
