Peek-a-boo 📦 I made a mystery box and placed sensory items inside it. There was an element of surprise when Antonio Luis tried to figure out what is in the box. I placed ribbons, cotton balls, small box, sticks and some sensory items inside. I asked him about the texture and the description of the item when he sticks in his hand. It kept him interested and engaged. He tried to look for what’s inside, moved his hands around and figured out how to pull an object. I cheered when he’s able to get one out. Besides, being present in the moment costs nothing and that is definitely what our children will remember most. 〰️ 〰️ Yesterday, we went to my niece's birthday party at the pool then up to my mom's to watch the fireworks. I left my phone in the car so I remained focused on the moment (and didn't drop it in the pool). Though I did miss out on pics, I have a mental memory that will last me a lifetime...or at least until my memory goes. My short term memory is actually horrible since my car accident in 2015. Anyway.... 〰️ 〰️ So, since I don't have a pic from yesterday's outing, here is one from yesterday morning white I sat with Brandon at his @vtechtoys activity desk practicing the alphabet. He loves this desk. Not only does the desk teach but the stool helps him practice balance and definitely works his core. So, it is one of my favorites to do with him. 〰️ 〰️ Now, back to the fireworks. Brandon has sensory processing disorder #SPD . He was a champ throughout the fireworks. The sound didn't bother him. Of course, sitting on my lap definitely improves his tolerance with things. He also feeds off my energy and how I react to things. He actually was so tired that he ws starting to fall asleep through those loud fireworks🤣😂.
