I mention all this specifically because this "stuff" is a huge part of the goth culture (it built it really) and I think he'd be very passionate about it. I know I write smut lol, but good relationships don't require sex and I think he'd be an excellent BF who'd respect those boundaries and would care about what you believe in and his own belief system.

It's like 12:30 in the morning, and you're at Eddie's trailer with the older gang. Robin's in the corner talking to Nancy, Jeff is playing video games with Eddie, and you're in the kitchen listening to Steve and Gareth argue about music. It's hot, and your eyeliner is running as you rummage through the fridge looking for a cold beer, or literally anything to chase the shot you'd just taken.

"I'm telling you, Steve Miller band is so much better than that slasher band-" Steve says, completely getting cut off by your boyfriend.

"Slayer, it's SLAYER. That's not even who I'm talking about!" Gareth grumbles, "they have too much Nazi shit, I'm talking about fucking bands like Quiet Riot. They're revolutionizing music, you can't discredit that."

"Discredit? Man, they're brutalizing rock -" Steve cuts off again as you slam the fridge door.

"Will you two quit it? Steve's a jock Gareth, youre not gonna convince him to listen to metal, especially thrash." You groan, leaning against the counter. "He's no fun."

"Exactly," Steve says, throwing his hands up in the air. "Also, I AM fun, I have plenty of good music to listen to already." He emphasizes the good, making Gareth groan irritatedly.

"What? You think I'm boring?" Steve yells, "Eddie would you say I'm boring?"

"YES." Robin, Nancy, and Eddie reply together without even looking over.

"Jesus," Steve mumbles, "here, let me prove it."

Steve leans in and whispers something in your ear, as Gareth watches smugly, arching an eyebrow as you grin at what Steve is asking you to do. It's a party trick, one you've seen him do in high school, and you're just tipsy enough to play along.

"That's actually kind of metal." You giggle.

"What?" Gareth asks, staring at the two of you as Steve hands you a bottle of jack off the counter. "What're you two talking about?"

"Nuh huh," Steve laughs, "Y/N here is going to be able to explain it much better than I can."

You laugh again as you motion for Gareth to come to you and pull off the sliced-up T-shirt you have over your bra. Gareth's eyes get wide, despite the fact that everyone here could give less of a shit at your indecency.

"What the fuck are you doing, Y/N?" Gareth asks, in front of you now.

"The Harrington special, babe." You answer, winking. "You've never seen it?"

Gareth shakes his head as Steve laughs, "You're about to!"

You pull your boyfriend's face in with one hand and hold the liquor bottle in the other hand.

"All you have to do is stick your face in those lovely boobs of hers and open your mouth," Steve instructs, earning a glare from Gareth at the compliment to your anatomy.

"C'mere baby," you laugh, and Gareth complies, leaning into your chest as he starts to realize what you're going to do. You carefully pour a shot onto your boobs, the alcohol pooling between your cupped breasts and trickling down into his mouth. He laps it up, giving you a dark look as his tongue runs up from below your bra to your collar bone. Fucking christ that's hot.

You'd momentarily forgotten Steve was there as he hollers, "Would a lame person be able to do that?"

You giggle, "You're not doing shit, Harrington."

"Yeah well, not this time Y/L/N, I think your boyfriend would fucking kill me." he laughs, as Gareth nods.

"Touch her tits and you're dead, Steve." He laughs, pulling back and giving you a quick peck on the cheek. "I'll give you like, one notch above lame for teaching her that." He winks at you, and they go back to debating as you pull your shirt back over your shoulders. You were definitely going to pay for that later.

Bestie Ghosted is such a joke lmao. The entire movie is a fucking parody and cannot be real. The way one of the locations is of Pakistan but it's not even filmed there, the set they created was of a market where they placed random Urdu words mixed with Arabic 💀 Like the entire set was so not Pakistan lol. The Pakistani people they had were looking Turkish lmao - NONE of them even looked Pakistani or knew how to speak proper Urdu. Everything was easier when they were children.

Marjan could remember the first day that she had met Salim. She had been practicing her soccer kicks in the backyard, and instead of hitting the upper right corner of the net, her ball sailed way past the goal post, over the fence, and into a neighbour’s yard. Sighing loudly, Marjan went to tell her mom where she was going and started knocking on doors to find her ball.

Before she could knock on the third house’s door, she could hear a shout from the backyard. Having a gut feeling, she paused on her knock and looked around the side of the house. There was her ball, in the hands of a taller boy.

Salim had been good-looking then, too, if a bit gangly. And that mischievous look in his eye as he held out the ball for her to take, that stuck around into adulthood too.

“Thanks,” Marjan answered quietly, turning to go back to her house to keep practicing.

“My name’s Salim,” the boy said before she left, and she responded in kind before taking off. Boys were nothing but trouble anyway, Marjan told herself as she returned to her house. Nothing but trouble.

Truer words had never been spoken. Salim and Marjan eventually became partners in crime, climbing every tree, hitting every ball over the fences, and playing small pranks on their neighbours. Their two families bonded as well, and before long, it was decided that Marjan and Salim would eventually marry.

Marjan was thrilled. She had been hesitant about the whole idea, never feeling much attraction towards the opposite sex. But now that her future husband was going to be her best friend, she could feel her whole body ease.

One of the older neighbours down the street passed away a couple of years later, and a new family moved in. A younger family, with three siblings, the oldest of which was Marjan’s age. Nadia, her name was.

Nadia was amazing. She was super smart, funny, and active, quickly joining the all-girls soccer team that Marjan was also on. The two of them quickly became the best of friends, to which Salim was not particularly happy about. Since Nadia’s arrival, Marjan had spent less and less time with Salim. Still, as Marjan ran her fingers over the sparkly beans adorning her friendship bracelet, she figured that that was fine, that she and Salim had plenty of time to spend together when they got older.

And so Marjan continued to focus her energy towards her friendship with Nadia. Then she started noticing the little things, like how nicely a dress looked on Nadia, how she would lean into Nadia when the two of them were cuddling and watching a movie, how their fingers would sometimes become intertwined as they walked on their own. And then, at one point Nadia pulled her hijab off when it was just the two of them, and as her long brown hair tumbled down her shoulders, Marjan had frozen at the sight.

Nadia was beautiful.

No, no, this wasn’t right. She wasn’t supposed to be feeling these sorts of feelings about another girl. Marjan was supposed to grow up, get married to Salim, and make a family.

Instead of taking the time to think about what those feelings were really telling her, Marjan pushed them all to the side. She told Nadia that they shouldn’t be friends anymore and stopped visiting with her. She asked the teacher at school to switch their desks around, she ended up withdrawing from soccer, and generally just ignored her. But she couldn’t get rid of the bracelet though, even though she tried.

The bracelet that was now staring her in the face. She had forgotten all about it until now. But as it laid there on the bed, resting on the scarf it had been wrapped in, everything came rushing back. She let out a chuckle, wiping a couple stray tears away.

When Salim had asked if she loved loved him, at first, she didn’t understand the question. But the more she thought about it, the more she knew that she didn’t. They kept in contact with semi-regular updates, but Marjan couldn’t remember who Salim’s friends were or why he was so excited about his latest presentation. She couldn’t push herself to be interested in his profession. When she laid down at the end of the day, Salim wasn’t the first thing she thought of or when she woke up in the morning, he wasn’t the first thing she thought of then either.

It was Nancy.

Nancy was the first person she thought of when she woke up in the morning, the person who was on her mind all through her day, her last thought before she fell asleep.

Her beautiful smile when Marjan walked into work, the sound of her laughter at Mateo’s bad jokes, the look she got in her eyes when she was about to make a devastating move in Catan; everything about Nancy was memorizing.

Every little thing that she did made Marjan want to hold her forever, and never let her go.

Marjan reached out, her fingers tracing over the beads, the glitter faded slightly over the years that it was stored. She whispered a brief apology to Nadia, wrapping the bracelet carefully in the scarf, and placed it back into the closet.

Maybe sometime soon, when the time was right, she’d be able to tell Nancy all about Nadia. About that beautiful girl that Marjan fell in love with, but didn’t know that then. Didn’t have the right words to explain her emotions, her feelings; didn’t feel at peace with her identity as she does right now.

But that lesson would be for another day, another time.

Because right now, Marjan needed to share her truth with Nancy, to share her story…in the hopes that it would maybe become theirs.

I got an amazing terrible idea for a young Justice reboot about the original lineup for young Justice , like the 98 versions, and y’know how there were a lot of moments where they satirize comic book tropes of the time and stereotypes, they could totally use that to make fun of comic book movies, like the mcu or even dc’s own less than stellar track record. It’d be kinda like teen titans go but with less stigma and bad parts and slightly aged up demographic, if ttg is aiming low, and young Justice show is aiming like high, a reboot could hit the middle and just be fucking weird and they could have their car get horny and have a baby. IT’D BE GREAT

Young Justice the show really fell on its face frfr, like Season One amazing, I’m really feeling like the writers got the spirit and the groove,

Season 2, why are there so many characters, what happened man, 5 years is too many. Kaldur is like the best part.It was still pretty good.

Season 3, WHAT ARE WE DOING, WHO ARE YOU, why did they just shove the original yg roster in there and do nothing. If youre gonna mooch, mooch better. Why does the girl in the hijab die so much, it feels weird man and it’s only her.

Season 4, whatever man, you’re milking it, and only like 2 of your arcs are good, like mars was good, Artemis’s wasn’t my thing, zatanna’s was ass mostly(klarion was cool), I liked Kaldur’s, what even was rockets? And ending was fine. There are too many characters still. Somehow teen titans go is more consistent than you are, that’s not a compliment. If there was a season 5 I’m betting it would be not very good and would have a lot of narration.

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding Tamil film ‘Farhana’, police force has been deployed outside the residence of actor Aishwarya Rajesh as the movie has stoked a controversy since its trailer came out. She plays the main role in the film and essays the character of a Muslim woman.

The film was released on May 12 and had landed in controversy as critics allege that it portrays Muslim community a particular way. A few Muslim groups, including the Indian National League (INL), even termed it “anti-Islamic”.

Directed by Nelson Venkatesan, the movie depicts the journey of the protagonist, Farhana, who becomes employed by a company offering phone sex chat services. Initially uneasy about her job, she gradually develops a connection with a caller who seeks companionship and conversation.

Police protection was provided to Aishwarya Rajesh, fearing a controversy similar to that of ‘The Kerala Story’.

Notably, the actor had recently told India Today in an interview that she would have played the character irrespective of its religion. “Religion was never a topic to think. I would have played this character even it was a Hindu or Christian. The religion angle was not even a barrier for me,” she had said.

However, makers of the film recently issued a statement saying ‘Farhana’ is not against any particular religion. “Our films has spoke about religious harmony, social unity and love,” the statement read.

So of course we all know some theists are obsessed with what someone does with their genitals, how much sex people have etc. But, I find there's another more ridiculous aspect. The ones that are much more extreme believe that based on your genitals, there are behaviours, clothes etc that are acceptable for you to do and wear etc. This makes zero sense.

For example, there are theists who think that having a dick automatically means you shouldn't wear lipstick..Nothing about the genitals correlates to lipstick. or skirts. It's really just our norm to not have people with dicks wear skirts. Years ago, in ancient Rome men did wear skirts.

While these mentalities aren't exclusive to theists, I believe this idea is strongly perpetuated because of religious beliefs that God made men and women distinct. But they take it to extremes and believe that they are exclusive rather than being a Venn diagram. Of course men and women have differences, but we also have similarities because we are the same species.

And of course it makes zero sense for extremists who claim that women should wear hijab. That means these people immediately equate hair to genitals and sex. It's pretty gross.

Even some Christians do this weird thing of equating something automatically to sex.. They think a man and woman together means sex. Who the hell thinks about someone's chromosomes and thinks, ah yes this person has different chromosomes from me, must have sex. That is why man and woman cannot watch movies together. (Sarcasm)

1. The pre-echoes of a revolution

The Holy Spider, is a 2022 Persian language crime- thriller, directed by Ali Abbasi. The story is based on true events that took place in Mashhad, Iran. From 2000 to 2001 a serial killer targeting sex workers, killed 16 women. To tell the story in a way that was both relevant to the time and relatable to the audience, the film depicts a fictional female journalist investigating the mentioned serial killer, where the authorities refuse to do so in relation to religious ideologies and misogynistic behaviors.

The development of this movie started in 2016, but mostly due to Covid-19 restrictions, the filming was postponed to May 2021; It only took 35 days. The film premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on May 22nd. Exactly 4 months before the death of “Mahsa Amini” and the start of the " Woman, Life, Freedom " movement in Iran. On 16 September 2022, and in light of Masha Amani’s murder because of her “improper hijab”, protests started against mandatory hijab laws, with woman burning their scarves in public. This is the part that I explain the irony of these events.

The premier of a movie that took 35 days to film, was postponed, unintentionally, for six years. A movie about extremist religious behavior, ignorance, deep rooted misogyny, a film that depicts ridiculous restrictions on women, was postponed for six years, only to be shown to the world, right before what is being called the first female-led revolution in the history of humans. (I do realize that this might not be historically accurate, but I will take it.)

Thanks to this movie, and its success at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, we had an internationally recognized, two-hour movie, that showcases the problem of “misusing religion” to justify the most horrific acts a human being can perform, while also presenting all the restrictions and oppressions, the women of this country are being presented with on a daily basis in the name of religion.

Clarification for all the people who have the privilege of not being “political” and don’t want to “offend people”: No, this is not Islamophobia. No, the people of Iran, burning their “mandatory” hijab, is not Islamophobic. These are demonstrations against a government that has used “Islam” to oppress its people for 40+ years. Understand the distinction. When a whole nation, all those inside the country and outside, are calling on you to PAY ATTENTION, please look further than just one article, one news platform or that one celebrity who made an Instagram reel to be a part of the “trend”; find real sources, find real people, and actually listen to what they are saying. when the whole ass nation is SHOUTING in every corner of the globe, all you need to do is LISTEN.

Because of the socio-political and economic situation that the country has been backed into, these protests very quickly turned into a socio-political uprising. And now, after 6 months, it can only be classified as an on-going revolution against a religious dictatorship. The combination of politics and religion was never a good idea, But the atrocities done in the name of “religion” for political gain… I don’t really blame the people if they are sick of all the religious ideologies they have been force fed.

Abbasi said “It was more about how a society creates a serial killer." In the narrative we see how the serial killer’s son, goes through all the different emotional stages, a person in his position would logically experience; but then we also see the religious and social justifications of a heinous act, that leads to him changing his perspective. The last scene of the film, will tell you everything you need to know about the root of the problem. The way the boy is standing over the little girl, willingly putting herself in that situation, defenseless, because neither of them know better. “It is about how a society creates a serial killer."

The rotten tomatoes website's consensus reads, "Holy Spider foregoes subtlety in favor of a viscerally outraged dramatization inspired by appalling actual events."

The religious justifications of certain barbaric acts are so unimaginable, that for them to be comprehensible for any audience, in the case of The Holy Spider, the script, needed to become “fictional”. This is still the case with what has been happening during the past 6 months.
