my man, ur such a wife guy
I am the wife guy. Other wife guys look down on me as a simpering prude. I look down on them as rank amateurs.
If being committed to my wife is an olympic sport, then I'm goddamn Michael Phelps; a genetic freak naturally predisposed to winning in my field.
Look upon my works, ye wife guys, and despair.
(But in all seriousness, I don't like the term. It shouldn't be at all remarkable that a man loves and is committed to his partner. It shouldn't be remarkable because it isn't remarkable at all, and should be nothing more than a starting point.)

I work with a guy who uses chatgpt to write his students' end of term reports. What's worse is that he uses AI to generate the same body of text, and then copies and paste his students names into the relevant sections.
He also still lives with his mum. I don't know why this tracks for me, but it really does.
it really is crazy how quickly people were willing to just let chatgpt do everything for them. i have never even tried it. brother i don't even know if it's just a website you go to or what. i do not know where chatgpt actually lives, because i can decide my own grocery list.

How's your Wednesday going?
I spent a chunk of mine babysitting a student so stoned I had to monitor his breathing and occasionally poke him to see if he was asleep or passed out.

Perfect case in point, for those who haven't seen it:
Tumblr media
The whole film is a single continuous shot from a nightclub to a bank robbery to an ill fated shootout at an apartment complex.
It's a glorious achievement, as films go but it's an exhausting watch.
I love movies where the plot takes place in less than a day. It’s like. What if these people were experiencing the worst 8 hours of the entire lives and you got to see the highlight reel?

does ur wife steal ur clothes? if yes does it annoy you or do you like it?
She's currently wearing one of my new cardigans: light grey, thigh length, quite thick. It's very cosy.
I honestly kind of like it. I'm away a lot more for work nowadays and it seems to bring her some kind of comfort.

Hi Mr. Haitch! I was reading your wonderful wife's newest pieces, and it got me wondering, how did it feel when you first held your babies in your arms? I completely understand if it's too personal to share, I hope you have a great day!
Uniquely terrifying, in a way. I won't go into detail about the birth, but afterwards Haitch was rushed into hospital, and when we got there I was put into a side room with the baby while they did what they did to help Haitch.
I remember being in that room for a few hours, holding my first child who was only a few hours old, listening to people come and go in the ward - occasional shouts, doors slamming, hurried footsteps. I listened, certain she was going to die, and there I was holding this small precious thing I had no idea how to care for.
He slept, for most of it. Every time he woke I walked dhim around the room and spoke to him. I remember having to go to the toilet with him in my arms, which was a unique experience. Made and discarded plans for, what felt like, the likely scenario where Haitch never came back.
I lived a whole other life in that room, in my head. For several hours where no one spoke to me, no one checked in, and I was left with the very worst thoughts circling in my head - I tried to figure out how to be a single, grieving father who knew very little about babies save some scant memories of looking after my youngest brother who is fifteen years younger than me.
The conflict of love, desperate love, and utter dread are hard to explain. Something in your heart starts to calcify, you become this snarling, protective thing where anyone that comes near you and your child is a threat. All you feel is a powerful voice in your head saying "protect protect protect". It took a few weeks for it to quieten down.
In the end it was all fine. I'm still angry with the midwives for leaving me utterly out of the loop - they completely dismissed me as soon as the baby was born. Fathers can sometimes be dismissed as being utterly emotionally constipated or blank in such cases, and left out of the loop because of a presumption that you don't care or aren't interested. Thankfully the other two births were different.
Once we were reunited after the doctors finished their work, I started to feel normal again. That protective urge is still there, a curious shadow over the heart, but the main thing I remember is a building sense of rightness. Here is the missing piece to my self. Here is the thing you always wanted but never knew. Here is the thing you'd fight and bleed for to ensure they survive.
It's a very weird feeling.

what *do* you think of nanami and higuruma as just.. characters at face value? without the connotation of... smut??
are you into jjk in the first place? 🤔
I've only seen the anime, so I don't have much of an opinion of Higurama and I'll have to focus on the rest of your question, which I'll answer in reverse order (you'll see why).
JJK is a story about how contemporary society exploits, abuses, and seemingly loathes youth and innocence - attempting to discard or hammer it out of the young at the earliest opportunity. As a society, it's a gerontocracy with older citizens gleefully flinging the young at every danger and threat with abandon. I often associate the quote below with the show:
"Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brains of the living." - Karl Marx
That last bit is key and actually touches on something central to my own research and writing - how the actions of past generations can limit those of their descendants. Jujutsu society, especially if you look at the noble houses, only values those of the younger generations whose abilities and talents suit the demands and priorities of the elders - with all others discarded or excluded, such as Toji and Maki although they have very different reactions to that rejection.
Nanami is a window into, and a reaction to the gerontocratic order. My understanding is that he's the first sorcerer in his family, an automatic outsider, pushed further to the edges and even temporarily outside of Jujutsu society by the death of his friend. He lives outside of it for several years, and discovers a similar order to the world elsewhere - a cycle of exploitation and abuse. His return seems to be predicated on a refusal and a resistance to the very social order that killed his friend and stole his youth, fulfilling his role but modelling an alternative path where the next generations are valued and protected.
It costs him his life, in the end: he pushes back against the world, and it crushes him for it. I can see his death being a significant turning point for several central characters later on.
So what do I think of them as a character, as a person? Despite his insistence on rules and regulations, he's a frustrated idealist - one who is not at home in his own world, and knows full well that it will one day destroy him. There's a lot to like and respect there, and I often prefer characters who cleave to causes that seem hopeless - but recognise the importance of resistance and remaining true to their ideals, and shielding the vulnerable from institutional harm. Another quote (sorry, I'm an academic):
"You can fight all the devils and slay them, but if you're made hard at the days end then they win." - Brother Ali, Live and Let Go
I realise that's probably far more detail than you expected or even wanted, but this is what happens when I answer questions at 4:45am while entertaining my children.
