Day 16 of #75daysofoutlander ep116 To Ransom A Man's Soul: The episode starts out with Jamie & Mr. Psychopath on the cot, Jamie is gazing almost lifelessly. That vision with the contrast of the drums & flutes playing outside is powerful.  Jamie tells Mr. Psychopath"You owe me a debt ." Mr. Psychopath grabs his knife & starts walking towards Jamie when he hears odd noises & goes to investigate. He peeks out the door and is trampled by the coos on parade. Murtah, Angus, & Rupert find Jamie & carry him right out the door,  racing to Claire who is horrified at Jamie's condition. He is hallucinating and chokes her thinking she is Mr. Psychopath. They hurry to the Abby & Claire goes about setting Jamie's hand. It is a long & gruesome job, but she manages to keep it together until she is finished. Claire visits the chapel,  confessesing everything to one of the monks. He says that her story is marvelous, a miracle even.  Jamie just wants to die, refusing food. He even demands Willie's blade, but Willie refuses. Claire makes lavender oil & puts it on Jamie, demanding to know what he was holding back. They scuffle & she sees the brand. Jamie tells her everything, saying he can no longer be her husband. She tries to reason with him but he's not listening. Finally she says if you go, I go. We're gonna pull a Romeo & Juliet up in here, which finally gets through to him. The look of torture & hesitation before he touches her back is heartbreaking. Murtah recognizes that they need to leave and a plan is hatched to sail to France. On the shore before departure Claire says goodbye to Willie, Angus, & Rupert. Rupert tells her that keeping she & Jamie out of trouble is a full time job. (So True!) And of course Angus cops a feel when kissing her goodbye. On the ship Jamie comments about Claire being sick & she admits that she is pregnant. Jamie is stunned, but extremely happy and we see his beautiful smile again.
