Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had a great start to your February! I’m really happy to anounce that I’m a member of Etude House’s Pink Bird program for 2017! What it means is that every month until July I’ll be reviewing some of Etude House’s new releases and sharing my thoughts for you guys!

I’m sure you guys know about Etude House if you’re into Korean beauty! They were one of the first brands I heard about once I got into K-beauty and they’re very well-known for having cute packaging and affordable products! They have a very 'princess' aesthetic and that shines through in their packaging especially - the product that got me hooked on Etude House was their Etoinette lipstick from a few years back.

Anyway, today, I wanted to show you what arrived in January's Pink Bird box and I will be sharing my thoughts on the Precious Mineral BB Cream Moist (reviews on the Any Cushion Colour Corrector + Look at My Eyes eyeshadows will be up tomorrow!)

January’s Pink Bird box had more of a make-up theme and it featured their new Precious Mineral BB Cream (I received Moist but there is also a Matte version), Any Cushion Colour Corrector (available in 4 colours, I got Pink!) and some of the new shadows from the Look at My Eyes, Sparkling Milky Way Edition.

Etude House has had quite a few variations of their Precious Mineral BB Cream line over the years - the Bright Fit was the first BB cream I ever tried and it was my holy grail but unfortunately it was discontinued a few years back (which makes me realise I started getting into k-beauty over 5 years ago now!). The new additions to the Precious Mineral line are the Moist BB Cream and Matte BB Cream.

The ‘BB’ in their name stands for Beautifying, as they cover imperfections and brighten the skin, and Block, as they contain SPF and PA protection which protects your skin from the sun. I believe the main difference is just that the finish - the Matte version has a smooth, matte finish of course and the Moist version has a more dewy finish.

I really like the packaging of this! Even though it’s very simple, the aesthetic of the brand is still shown. Does anyone remember when the older Etude House BB creams had little pumps? It was super cute but a bit pointless since the tube was upside down anyway.

I’m glad there are some more shades now although it is still pretty exclusionary of many skintones. Beige is my typical shade, and Sand is a pretty good colour for me in summer. Since it’s summer right now, I picked Sand.

Here are a couple pics of the Moist BB Cream on my hand. As I mentioned before, I chose the colour Sand and it is a great match for my summer skin tone. In summer I'm typically #23 in Korean BB Cream shades and this is about on par with that.

After trying the Moist BB Cream a few times, I found myself loving it a lot! Some people have complained about BB creams like the Iope Air Cushion XP being a bit too moist/dewy and never setting properly. I can say that the Moist BB Cream doesn’t do this and it does dry down and won’t get on your fingers if you’re just touching your face.

I have normal skin with some dry patches around my face, particular on the nose area and chin. I’m found that some BB creams will accentuate those dry patches or just not make them look flattering in general, but the Moist BB Cream works well on these areas too.

Scent + colour: 5 / 5 The scent of this BB cream is barely there, and definitely can't be detected when worn. If I try hard enough to smell it, it smells like a mix of linen and sunscreen! The colour is a good match for me in summer and I'm really happy with that! I don't have a summer BB cream that I love and I think this will be able to take that spot. I like that Etude House has expanded their shade range a bit more, but it would be nice to have even more shade variety.

Formula + longevity: 5 / 5 I really enjoyed the formula. The coverage wasn't amazingly high and I still needed an extra concealer for my undereye circles, but then again I don't own any foundation or BB cream that does that (my bags are prettyyyy bad). What I did really like, however, was the subtle glow that this gives without compromising too much coverage (see: the Any Cushion Cream Filter) and doesn't accentuate any of my dry patches. The longevity was pretty good too, although not quite 24 hours as they advertise (not that I would keep make-up on for that long) I started noticing some red spots from my blemishes peeking through around 7-8 hours after first application. The only downside with an actual BB cream and not a cushion is that it's harder to reapply once you're out for the day but that isn’t really a dealbreaker for me.

Overall, I’m super happy with this BB cream! As I've mentioned throughout the review, it gives a nice dewy look without overstepping the boundary into oily and doesn't show any dry patches in the process. Do keep in mind that I'm combination normal / dry skin so your results may vary!
