Is there any character, event, location, or quest that really stays in your mind in the Fallout series? It can be scripted, organic, or even happen outside of the game

I've been thinking about this ask for a long time, because I have so many different answers to it, so I'll try to break it down a little. I'll answer for both New Vegas and Fallout 4 as they are my personal top two favorite fallouts, with two answers each.

New Vegas

For most impactful/memorable in terms of burned into my psyche, my first answer is the infamous Benny sex scene. This might come as a surprise to anyone who has ever seen my content but I've only actually played through the scene once, and seen it twice. I am, however, cursed with a great echoic memory for music and scripted dialogue, and so I have every single line from that scene burned into my brain and can recite it. From the awkward blank screen to the, quite honestly, incredibly iconic lines, it's a scene I'm unfortunately always reliving. This might be evident by the 8 billion posts I've made about it asdfgyhj

Now, in terms of memorable scenes from an emotional standpoint, this also includes Benny and I promise that wasn't on purpose asdfgyhj. The opening cutscene of New Vegas, especially starting from the point where the Courier is waking up next to their grave with Benny standing over them, is so impactful in such a short period of time. The mystery of who Benny is, why he shot you, and why the chip is so important is more interesting than the answer that you later find out from House tbh, at least to me

Fallout 4

My first playthrough I unknowingly was playing on a very hard difficulty and died approximately 500 times. I also had no idea you could swap out companions until I accidentally did it after playing about 100 hours of the game so Dogmeat was my companion for a long time. Since the game was so unintentionally hard, I had to sneak everywhere, which I am extremely bad at. This lead to a very memorable playthrough at Corvega Assembly Plant that was incredibly intense where I was desperately just trying to get in and out and protect Dogmeat, who kept getting hurt and crying, which made me cry

In terms of the most memorable emotional moment, for me it's one that you usually find accidentally. Scattered across the Commonwealth are radio towers, and when activated you can pick up distress signals nearby. One of these recordings is especially memorable to me because of the voice actress's delivery. Activated by Relay Tower 0SC-527, the signal leads to Fallon's department store, to the jewelry safe where a woman has been trapped. This was my first distress signal for my first playthrough so I didn't realize all of these signals were from when the bombs first fell. When I found her I was devastated to learn that she was long dead and I couldn't save her. You can listen to the audio here.

Favorite character: Benny he’s hot in a cringe and fail kinda way (no he’s not. conceptually yeah but he was so goofy in the game..) Least Favorite character: the whole legion obviously 😒 no legion stanning here 5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Christine/Courier, Benny/Courier (Isabel/Benny in particular. Not into femme fatale couriers shipped with him 🤢 I do stan male courier/Benny though), Arcade/Courier, ALSO Swank/Courier. love u ugly king 🥺 other than that uhh I can’t think of anything, mostly just individual ships people have with their couriers Character I find most attractive: NONE this game is hideous!!!!  An unpopular opinion: fallout new vegas is not as deep as people say it is and it’s not the pinnacle of fallout games. I also see a lot of people being upset that there weren’t any romances but I don’t mind it to be honest. my canon OTP: uhhh like I said I don’t ship things... ig Veronica & Christine have rights but i pair Christine with my courier so.... don’t care about that to be honest Non-canon OTP:  most badass character: IDK can’t think of anyone except the courier obviously. it’s always the protagonist for rpgs because you’re always overpowered as hell pairing I am not a fan of: legion men/people’s ocs who were slaves godddddd... brain damage... I guess normal ocs who are just kinda evil & get with Vulpes Inculta or something too but I don’t hate it as much as slave oc’s. Also imma be real I really don’t like any of the Joshua Graham/Courier ships I see out here on tumblr.. it’s not inherently bad (I mean. he’s evil but you don’t have to make it cursed) but GODDDD the way other people write it. 🤡🔫 character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): every character in honest hearts lol. Not Joshua and Daniel, they kinda suck but I don’t have any objections to that but everyone from the tribes was just so... idk it felt really uncomfortable, white savior simulator (my courie isn’t white but. you know) favourite friendship: Again this is oc stuff but Audrey & Arcade... gay doctor solidarity. wait also benny & swank.. friendship until Swank lets you kill him ❤
