A reoccurring thing i keep noticing between older and younger adults is that usually, we give each other warnings or precautions about a video before sharing or a story before telling, while older ppl are just like hey watch this and you end up with an eyeful of a dead body or a homeless person defecating

Like theres an obvious difference between watching something of your own volition without warnings and someone that you possibly work with or see every day showing you their phone, just going "you gotta see this!" as if its a funny dog video and being triggered by the most graphic real life horrors

#like obvi im not talking about online stuff im saying like person to person communication. either thru 1-1 messaging or irl #my mom would start telling me stories of ppl dying gruesome deaths before i would get pissed at her for doing that without my permission #my dad just complained to me about a coworker who tried showing him unedited footage of a really bad crash in our city #without telling him what she was trying to show him just a 'you gotta see this'#back when i worked at [redacted] a security guard showed me footage he took of a homeless guy in the restroom #and thank GOD for the snapchat text he added that had the 💩 emoji bc if i didnt read that i wouldnt #have been able to go FUCK THAT AND FUCK YOU while getting as far away from that screen as possible #don't ask me what my cut off for older ppl is the security guard was in his early to late 20s when i was still 19 but he was definitely #older. and very much older adults have been like this my whole life. personally at least
