"the way you interacted with your peers gave you access to the gendered world" good thing I didn't do that then

'Thanks for being in my life. I wouldn't know what to do if you disappeared.'
You blinked at the message you received on your phone from a stranger. It was 9:06 PM and you were laying in your bed.
"Huh?"
You had been in a slump lately, and even though you were sure this message wasn't for you, you still felt comforted by it.
You wanted to find this person and say thank you, even if it wasn't meant for you. You weren't sure how you would go about it though, so you focused on starting a new school.
The next morning, after getting dressed in your new uniform, you walked around the campus. Your teacher was supposed to be here, but you couldn't find him anywhere. He usually stuck out like a sore thumb too.
"Y/N-chan!"
"Hmm? Sensei!" you exclaimed.
"Were you waiting long?"
You shook your head at the blindfolded man in front of you. When he first reached out to you, you pepper-sprayed him in the face while calling him a pervert.
Now you knew he had intentions, but he was still a pervert. He could sense the pure energy flowing from you and he stopped you in the middle of the street to recruit you into Jujutsu Tech.
"Where are we going?" you asked.
He knocked his knuckles on your head and leaned in. You leaned back a bit since he was getting into your personal space.
"Meeting the others, silly."
"How many students are here? There are three first-years, right?"
"Four including you," he corrected. "There's four second-years in this branch but one is always on missions. That one's Yuuta."
You nodded. "The super-strong one."
"Mhm. You've done your homework, Y/N-chan!"
"Because you kept FaceTiming me last night, Sensei."
"Let's not get into the nitty-gritty," he said, shooing you away with his hand.
You followed him into the courtyard, looking around the campus. You had a backpack on and you were pulling around the straps. You needed to occupy your hands with something since you were feeling fidgety.
You stepped into the courtyard and slightly hid behind Gojo as the others students turned to look at you. A pink-haired boy waved to you and approached you with a smile on his face.
“Hey, I’m Itadori Yuuji!”
“Ah, I’m L/N. F/N. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Hmm, you’re not bad looking. I’m Kugisaki Nobara.”
You felt a bit nervous at the pretty girl in front of you but bowed. Everyone began introducing themselves to you.
“Take care of the newbie, all right?” Gojo requested as he patted you on the back.
“Where are you going?” Itadori asked.
“There’s this new bakery that just opened up, so I’m going there. See ya!”
As soon as you blinked, he disappeared in front of your eyes. That would have freaked you out if he hadn’t done that the day you two met. You didn’t quite believe that curses existed, so he grabbed you and lifted you in the middle of the sky.
The students began to talk to you and you found yourself smiling and enjoying your time with them. You even enjoyed listening to Inumaki speak onigiri ingredients to you.
You noticed Maki—she didn’t want to go by her surname—didn’t talk much and she mainly practiced by herself in the background, but you wanted to get to know her better.
“Anything fun happen lately?” Itadori asked.
“Besides being told you have the potential to become a sorcerer and transferring to a new school?” you questioned. “I did get a text from someone last night.”
Itadori tilted his head to the side. “What’d they say?”
You hummed and pulled up your phone to find the text messages from last night, then handed the phone to itadori.
“ 'Thanks for being in my life. I wouldn't know what to do if you disappeared,’ “ Itadori repeated.
Maki’s ears twitched as she looked over at you. She set the weapon she was practicing with down and walked over to you. Silently, she grabbed her phone and went through the recent messages she sent.
Her thumb froze as she stopped on the recent text she sent. She was so tired last night from a mission that she never double-checked who she was sending the message to.
She went to Inumaki’s contact to double-check his number, then realized there was only one number that was different from his and yours.
Maki meant to send the message to Inumaki. She usually wasn’t sentimental and open with her feelings, but Inumaki had been feeling down after the mission.
“I want to find whoever sent it to me, but I’m not sure how. I just want to say thank you. I was feeling pretty down last night. I never had friends growing up because I used to see things. I know now that they were curses, but it was pretty scary,” you murmured.
“Well, we’re your friends now!” exclaimed Itadori. “Even Fushiguro who always looks angry."
Fushiguro smacked him on the head with his fist.
You smiled. “Thanks! I consider you all my friends too.”
Maki stayed silent, then turned off her phone and put it away. Unless she was going to get caught, there was no point in telling you who sent you the message. Besides, you already told her the message you wanted to tell the person.
There was a slight smile on her face, but she quickly wiped it off before anyone could see it. She approached you and you tilted your head to the side.
“I’ll be training you hard,” she said.
“Y-Yes!”
“Let’s get started."
You felt a bit nervous around her. She was definitely pretty and there was an air of elegance around her that made it almost difficult for you to breathe.
You followed her and let her place a sword in your hands. You glanced at it before looking at her.
“I don't know how to use this,” you said.
“You'll learn. I'll teach you. After we're done, I'll treat you to a meal at a sandwich shop.”
