Personality:

Melody at first seems to have a closed off personality mostly keeping to herself as she doesn’t open to others quiet easily, Orion was the first to see her break this shell. Trust is key for her so she might become wary of you at first glance but let her get to know you and she’ll come to. Like her trust, kindness also is key for her, and she doesn’t give it out willingly. Melody has been known to snap, from Orion experience, and she doesn’t back down. Once you push her buttons, she will fight with you. Some would say she’s emotional and its possibly true due to her holding back her feelings to others because she feels their emotions are more important than how she feels, but due to that she does eventually explode and its no one fault, but her own for not speaking up. She wears her heart on her sleeve always going to help others despite how she feels currently because she believes other people happiness, friends included, is more important to her than her own happiness.

Melody was raised by both her parents for a while before her mother decided to disappear and never came back. Around the age of 7 her and her father moved to Gridania, after an incident with a male Au ra took advantage of Melody when she was 6, where her father later met his now and current wife. Melody was very hesitant of her new mother even bringing her hell due to the new change. It only around 10 when she finally got use to her, but she still never called her mom or mother. Her new mother was pretty the best thing that her and her father ever had even if at times she did feel like she couldn’t do anything right around Melody because they weren’t the same race, but as time went on, they realized they were one of the same personality wise and bonded over festivals, her stepmother was the reason she took up being a bard.

When Melody was finally an adult she made a friend, her name was Orion. She was the one who approached her first cause Melody kept closing herself off, she was also the reason she got her to join the rest of the team, soon friends, when she found out she also possessed an echo. Melody was still intimidated by the team but loosen up when she saw she wasn’t the only Au ra, however despite being the same race her and Kirsten didn’t socialize for a while. Carol was the first to approach and greeted her even went as far as introducing the others, first being Melanie, Keres, Hinata and Kirsten. She did make a slight jab of saying “and you’ve already met Orion.” In hopes that Melody would loosen up. This was the beginning of her journey that she’ll never forget.

#FFxivWrite2022 - Day 1 prompt: "Cross"

HEY guess who hasn’t showed anyone her fiction writing since she was, like, ten, and is going to try a writing challenge to change that!

Using today’s prompt to self-indulgently explore a bit of my WoL's origin story / deciding to become an adventurer.

Keimwyda stood at the threshold of her small cottage, hoisted her knapsack over her shoulder, and looked back behind her. The house had always been quiet. But today, it was unnervingly so. 

The kitchen, which in her memories overflowed with the sound of crackling wood fires, the sight of drying herbs strung across the windows, and the continual scent of baking bread, now sat empty, cold and still. The shelves in the hall were devoid of books and knick knacks alike. The rooms were picked clean, down to the furniture that was too large to even consider keeping, but too old or simple to bother with selling. The sight was so alien to the warmth and comfort she had come to associate with this house--although in truth, it had been some time since she had felt either of those things.

Two full summers had elapsed since Miss Estelle’s passing, and several more since she had lost the strength to keep up with the place. Yet even now Keimwyda could still see her touches everywhere. The paint on the walls might have faded and cracked with time, but the soft, sunny yellow still smiled through, aged but cheerful, like Estelle had been. The cushions on the chairs were adorned with her deft floral embroidery. “If we must needs patch a few holes, we may as well make things happier while we’re at it,” she had said. The doorframe was riddled with notches that tracked Keimwyda’s childhood growth--right up until she had gotten too tall for Estelle to reach anymore.

Keimwyda took a breath. Was she really doing this?

She felt almost as if she were sleepwalking, her mind vainly trying to comprehend how she ended up at this point. This little house had sheltered her since her father had dropped her off more than two decades ago. She could still hear his voice to her: “Be good for Miss Estelle. I love you. I shall see you when I get back from my trip.”

That trip was when his ship had disappeared, along with both him and his closest friend, Miss Estelle’s son.

Estelle never once complained about taking Keimwyda in, even as the planned two-week visit turned into three, and then into months, as they waited for any word of what became of their loved ones. The fleet’s investigations repeatedly, maddeningly, turned up neither wreckage nor answers. But now they were in this together, Estelle had said. Of course Keimwyda could stay.

As she had grown up, Estelle had labored to teach her, to care for her, to help her navigate her childhood as a lone Roegadyn youth amongst almost exclusively Hyur and Elezen neighbors. While she was by no means made unwelcome in the nearby village, there was still a sense of refuge back here at the homestead, with the woman who had known her father, who knew who she was and where she had come from better than any other. Estelle was good to her, and Keimwyda had nowhere else to go. Of course she would stay.

As Keimwyda had begun to grow into her full size and strength, Estelle had begun to age out of her own. She increasingly needed help with the more physical tasks around the house and garden. “My dear,” Estelle had told her. “You are nearly a woman grown. You have your whole life ahead of you. There is no need to be tied down to this old lady. I shall manage.”

But Keimwyda did not believe her, and would not hear of it. She loved her. She felt indebted beyond any possible repayment to her. Of course she would stay.

While yet more years passed, Estelle fought with all of her might to do as much as she could, as often as she could. But strong as her will was, the march of time was yet stronger–and the Calamity, stronger still. The fall of Dalamud triggered a sudden downturn in her health. Within three years, Keimwyda and her friends in the neighboring village had buried her and mourned her together.

Keimwyda had found herself at a complete loss. As a child, her job was to wait for her father. As a young woman, her job was to take care of her beloved guardian. Neither role was relevant anymore. But nearly her whole life had been here, in this tucked-away corner of the Shroud. Estelle had left the house to her. Where else would she even go?

Of course she would stay.

She might be staying, still, had it not been for the vision.

Even now, looking at her empty house--well, no longer her house, she supposed--Keimwyda could not fully make sense of the imagery that had flooded her mind. The falling stars? The enormous crystal? The dark-robed figures whose mere appearance put a knot in her stomach? All of it was beyond her. But something about that voice which called out to her--gentle, motherly, but so urgent and insistent--rattled her and refused to be ignored.

Perhaps she no longer needed to stay.

Her reminiscence was cut short by the cry of a chocobo and the friendly shout of the wagon driver who had come to take her to Gridania. She absentmindedly waved back at him, and lowered her eyes to the ground. It was just the old, weathered threshold she had passed thousands of times in her life. But now as she beheld it, it seemed a blazing boundary line, leading to a world that was huge and terrifying and yet… perhaps a bit hopeful.

For the last time, she regarded that doorway, that barrier between her and the future which she could finally take into her own hands. She closed her eyes and breathed a quiet prayer.

Perhaps her vision would make more sense in time, but for now, there was one thing she felt sure of: this was a threshold it was high time to cross.

Q3: WHY DID YOU START WRITING THIS CHARACTER?:

After some years or so, I’ve finally decided to return to the FFXIV rp scene with Luke as my fourth WOL that I’ve created. I just needed something new, at first, and to maybe dip my hands a little into writing original characters. I did write them before but not as much as I’ve written canon characters ( 98% of the time, really ). 

Q4: WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO THIS CHARACTER?:

As I played his character in the game, his dialogues and thought process appeared in my head and there we have it.

Q5: DESCRIBE THE BIGGEST THING YOU DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR MUSE:

He’s rather internalized and indecisive. I probably wouldn’t get along with him very well irl since I’m usually very straightforward, swift and prefers not to complicate things lmao. 

Q6: WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR MUSE?:

We are both really chill people and very introverted. Soft colours are our favourite too and uhhh... we are both pretty short ? but I guess this goes for a lot of midlander hyurs in comparison to elezens, roegadyns and au ra males. We like sketching too and are very, very vanilla physically ( i make a lot of innuendos for laughs though while Luke doesn’t ). But ultimately for me, I’m an aro/ace while he’s demi/demi.

Q7: HOW DOES YOUR MUSE FEEL ABOUT YOU?:

While we probably disagree with a lot of things, Luke probably likes the quiet, chill and need to be alone that comes along with me. There isn’t much opinion I’d imagine him having with me, other than the fact that I really need to do the shit that I wanted myself to do and quit adding more muses onto my full hands lmao.

Q8: WHAT CHARACTERS DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE INTERESTING INTERACTIONS WITH?

With my other muse, Laipheaux. While he’s often with Estelle, Luke really has a deeper sibling connection with Laipheaux because of how much he looks up to him and how Laipheaux is the one who managed to coax him into becoming more comfortable around people. He visits Laipheaux a lot and Laiph at times can tell when sometimes is weighing heavily in Luke’s mind but doesn’t pry. Luke was devastated when Laiph returned to the forest, of course, but becomes calmer when Laiph visits from time to time, bringing him small animals and minions as a show that Laiph still cares and that their sibling ship hasn’t eradicated. 

Q9: WHAT GIVES YOU INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSE?:

Mainly, my love for the game. I’ve been playing it for a long time and I just can’t get tired of restarting the storyline over and over again. I still need to get past the msqs though but I have a blast playing it when Luke is on the screen.

A few hours, to be honest, since there are some questions that I need a lot of googling to answer.

WHAT IS YOUR OTP FOR YOUR CHARACTER?:

Ashla is currently in a formal courtship, though it's a bit tricky because the person plays a character using the same name and concept on both Balmung and Mateus, but they're not the same timeline - the one on Mateus was a sort of reboot, so to speak, while the one on Balmung has history dating back to the start of the game. We're still trying to figure out how to handle the new server visiting thing, since the Ashe on Balmung and the Ashe on Mateus are the same person, from an RP standpoint.

WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO WRITE WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?

I prefer longer term build-ups than a lot of people do, and they have to be organic. I'm willing to pre-plan some things for shipping RP, but most of it still has to stem naturally from the RPs.

As far as sensual/sexual RP goes, that really varies from partner to partner, and usually takes a long while to happen, as I have to really know the person OOC before I'd be comfortable with it. Till then, if such is supposed to occur from RP, it's fade-to-black and handwave discussions.

I'm also favourable to non-romantic ships. Not everything has to be a romantic paring to be fun.

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?

Given that Ashla is an adult, ten or eleven years is about the upper limit, though something close to that could be negotiable for a romantic ship. My own parents in real life were midway between that distance in years (10.5-ish), so it's not a wholly foreign idea to me. A lot of people on my dad's side of the family had similar age gaps.

Non-romantic ships are way more negotiable, especially if there’s a hardset “it’s not going to become romantic ever” involved.

ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?

Hellaciously.

Primarily, my concern lies in communication between partners, as all too often, there's not enough communication, and someone gets burned. Often, both parties end up feeling burned, because the lack of communication inevitably leads to some sort of argument. This, of course, makes it harder and harder for a person to be willing to do any kind of ship, with romantic ships becoming too dangerous of ground to walk on.

This post here that I reblogged covers a lot of how I feel about shipping/having an RP partner. If you can't live up to this, then it just won't work.

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NSFW?

Near the point where clothes start coming off. There're times when even some sensual RP where the clothing hasn't come off will cross into NSFW territory, depending upon the actions being done.

WHO ARE OTHER THE CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH?

A courtship between Ashe and my RL boyfriend's character on Mateus was started, but it's sort of in a stalled state right now. He's long been on Balmung with a character of the same name, and their stories are completely separate. The one on Balmung is even married, with a kid or two, and his mind has been shattered a bit.

Given that I was playing the Ashla on both servers as the same character, that's become rather complicated rather fast. With the upcoming server visits, it'll become significantly more complicated and weird. He's talking about changing the character's name, so once that's done, this may work out better.

There's some sort of ship going on with Ashe and Jurien Ashur. They're becoming good friends. But interesting overtones are happening there. It sort of oscillates and melds between Estelle and Yuri from Tales of Vesperia, Kōsei and Kaori from Your Lie in April, and Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled.

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:

There's this thing about consent and role-play, and this'd fall underneath that. While shipping can occur during RP, if you turn up and have that intention from the beginning, for the love of all that his holy, you better tell me about it. I don't mind if it's something that develops organically from two characters who we don't intend for that to happen to. But if that's the premise from the start, please own up to it.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?

I'm not entirely sure how to quantify that question, because the first near five years I was around in XIV, I had a steady RP partner who had three of four characters shipped with two or three of mine.  I've had one actually played, predominantly platonic, ship since then (prior to sort of starting something with the boyfriend's character, and the new thing with Jurien).

Prior to that, in GW2, I didn't really have much of a ship going on; my Sylvari chilled out with this other Sylvari, but we never had it go anywhere - it was mostly to keep people from hounding us for relationship RP. In SW: TOR, my main character (I didn't really play any other much) was with the same person for my time in the game, and the two and a half years leading up to that, when we were creating backstory and our guild there (the character was played by my ex-fiancee). Aion I started something with someone I knew from EQ2, but they got immensely weird OOC, and that ended by the time we were working on TOR stuff. Prior to that, I had a like two ships with the same player on different characters, and then I had a two ships over the entire first three expansions of Star Wars Galaxies. I didn't really have much of one in EQ1, because I was kinda often too busy for it.

It either could be considered "not often", or more like frequent "steady, long-term" ships?

ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?:

I'm not to preoccupied with getting characters into a ship - the fact Ashe keeps falling into them is super weird to me. I can get a little hyper focused on a ship (platonic or romantic) due to weaving into my storytelling, but it's not some sort of goal I have. I've kept most of my characters out of them, especially since the abusive ex was tossed out.

ARE YOU MULTISHIP?

I'm going to assume this question is about romantic shipping.

I've done it before. My original main was in a relationship with two of the abusive ex's characters (one male and one female character). She later had a relationship that was heading towards a Buffy and Spike dynamic, that started before the ex was kicked out, but didn't go far due to not playing much after the breakup.

Generally, it'd depend on the character, and the people involved. If things pan out with the guy courting Ashe, and ICly he doesn't want her to see other people, then that's how it'll work. If not, then it'll be more open-ended.

Now, if we're talking more than romantic ships, I'm chill with multiple platonic ships, so long as the communication is good, and they don't conflict unless it's something hat makes sense and is fun for everyone. Should anyone not be having fun, then things get changed so everyone can still have fun. That kinda goes for either type of ship.

WHAT IS/ARE YOUR FAVOURITE SHIP(S) IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?:

I always loved the "Haurchefaunt is adventurer sexual" thing. Where basically, Haurchefaunt has a thing for adventurers in general, and since the WoL is the consummate adventurer, he falls hard for the WoL.

I also really liked Ysayle and Estinien, and I will never forgive SQEX for that kick to the feels.

FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:

As mentioned above, if you're interested in that from the beginning, please just be up front about it. If the interest develops after RP, but the RP itself hasn't gotten that far or given much signs of it, talk to me about it. If it starts looking like it's heading that way, I'll talk to you about it - possibly even mid-RP, if the RP suddenly takes that turn.

It occured to me that I should probably make a "who tf are all these people" post for my characters. I have a bunch of bios half filled out but I always get sidetracked before I can finish them all and format them, so. Going to try to summarize everyone in a few sentences!

Imry Ceigwardwyn (Adamantoise, Balmung, Behemoth, Cactuar [rule 63] ) -a young Sea Wolf adventurer with a friendly and boisterous personality. Rather naive and clueless. Loves helping others. Both WoL and non-WoL flavors. (PLD/DRK. IC: gladiator w/o a soul stone, unless she does the DRK questline. Has some conjury ability.)

Victor Kresnik (Adamantoise) -expy of Victor from Tales of Xillia 2. Mostly for fun and looking sharp in a suit. Sometimes I play an AU version of him. Doting father, enthusiastic culinarian, estranged son of a wealthy Ul'dahn businessman. (DRG/NIN/WAR/MCH/CUL. IC: who the fuck knows but it involves the black market and murder.)

N'valyh Tia (Adamantoise) ["Val"] -Miqo'te mercenary and incorrigible flirt. Useless bisexual. Blind in one eye. Ends up in relationship w/ Akiv'a after double-crossing him, losing a fight to him, then later saving his life. (NIN/MNK. IC: fights with knives/fists/wrestling type moves, no formal training.)

Kototsuki Malaguld (Adamantoise) -Raen from the western mountains of Othard. Witnessed the fallout from Bozja. Hates Garleans. Exiled from her pacifist clan for having extreme anger issues, lived among the Malaguld tribe for a time before heading to Eorzea looking to fight stuff. (BRD/WAR. IC: fights with a bow & axe)

Nergui Malaguld (Adamantoise) -Steppe Xaela. His parents took Tsuki in when he was young. He's rather intimidated by her. Quiet and thoughtful. Loves to fish. Ended up in Eorzea when his parents sent him after his sister hoping she'd keep him safe. Now lives near Idyllshire with Akiv'a's cousin Sef. (BRD/FSH. IC: hunts with a bow but dislikes fighting.)

Faunh Seket (Adamantoise) -a Miqo’te from Meracydia who fled to Eorzea to escape an arranged marriage. Worked as a barmaid in Limsa before becoming an adventurer. Good friends with Akiv'a’s father. Anxious and judgmental but fiercely loyal. (BRD. IC: uses a bow, plays a mandolin-like instrument.)

Elouan Linvernois (Adamantoise) -Ishgardian astrologian. Falsely accused of heresy but miraculously survived his execution. Joined Faunh's adventuring band after they saved his life. Still heavily scarred & missing fingers. Bookish and a little awkward. Has a huge crush on Faunh that she's too nervous to admit she reciprocates. (AST/WHM. IC: Technically uses conjury but learns some Sharlayan astrology later on.)

Arst Outway (Adamantoise) -Expy/AU version of King Gaius from Tales of Xillia because I couldn't resist plonking him down in a DIFFERENT version of Fantasy Mongolia. (DRK eventually. IC: a big ol sword.)

Weinblyss Galeturner (Balmung) [Eyngeim Klynkestwyn] -Imry's long-lost cousin. Lost her family to a shipwreck as a child, raised by pirates. Now a drifter after her captain vanished in the turmoil of the Calamity. Offers her services as a mercenary and healer. Ruthless, amoral and a bit vain. Triple Triad fiend. (WAR/WHM/MCH/ALC. IC: Uses conjury, esp wind magic. Also proficient with axe & musket.)

Sivana Villeneuve (Balmung) [Noline Sellecerre] -XIVth Legion deserter. From a tiny northern village in Islabard. Joined the army to feed her family after her father perished at Carteneau. Decided self-preservation was more appealing after van Baelsar's defeat and faked the deaths of herself and her partner while on patrol. Worked briefly at Garlond Ironworks before becoming a courier. Irritable & no-nonsense. (DRG. IC: Was an eques. Fights with a spear but has passing knowledge of other weaponry.)

Aerling Dorne (Balmung) [Keiho Oshiga] -XIVth Legion deserter. Son of a Doman woman and a Garlean officer. Joined the army to escape the miserable circumstances of his birth. Was scouted for the Frumentarii but deliberately failed aptitude tests, apparently content to be a grunt forever. Strangely attached to Sivana, would probably do anything for her. Outwardly jovial, cowardly, doesn't seem to take much seriously. (PLD. IC: Was a hoplomachus.)

Pyha Sharpshade (Balmung) -Sky pirate. Former Coeurlclaw. Under Captain Tohnrune Rokren, her crew mostly raids slavers and other pirates who prey on the weak. (Much of the crew are escaped slaves themselves.) Laid-back, friendly, "cool big sister" type, a little impulsive and hotheaded. Doting partner of Duua Kagon. (NIN. IC: Fights with knives.)

Raiya Ceigwardwyn (Faerie) -Imry's older sister by four years. Introverted and a bit awkward, fascinated by all types of magitek. Likes to build things. Eventually follows her sister out into the world to accomplish her dream of joining Garlond Ironworks. (SCH/MCH. IC: dislikes fighting and avoids it as much as possible.)

Nennali Durant (Faerie) -Ala Mhigan refugee, was brought to the Shroud as a young child & raised by a Duskwight couple. Has a strong sense of justice & quick temper, but is a kind and loyal friend. (NIN/WHM. IC: Uses knives to defend herself, has some healing ability)

Tache Wystlan (Faerie) -Ala Mhigan refugee, was abandoned as a baby shortly before the city fell & brought to the Shroud along with Nennali. The two girls were accepted by the elementals on account of their strong innate conjury talents, but the woman that brought them there was turned away. Tache was raised by an adoptive family & in training to become a Hearer when Nennali left the forest, and eventually followed, her desire to be with her friend stronger than her sense of duty. Sweet and friendly and a little timid. (WHM. IC: Conjurer but not afraid to hit people w that stick.)

Yulili Yuli (Faerie) -A girl from Summerford with dreams of adventure and very overprotective parents. She met Imry at the Moonfire Faire one year and took the opportunity to run off and start her own adventuring career. (They actually dated very briefly before Yulili called it off, on account of Imry being too busy for her.) (BLM. IC: thaumaturge.) (also Imry's in game retainer)

Ketenbraena Skaetfyr (Faerie) -the result of Imry getting the DRK soul stone. An autonomous being of darkness born from Imry's despair and her inability to process her grief. (Ultimately sort of a mashup of Esteem-Fray and Myste. This was done before SB came out.) Imry views them as a separate person and wanted them to be able to experience life for themselves, and willed them a body of their own with...mixed results. Eventually she gave them the soul stone and gave up using it herself, since they can't maintain their form without it nearby. (DRK. Very literal here.)

Ragna Estelwede (Famfrit) -a mysterious scholar from Gyr Abania. [Working on this.] (SCH/RDM. IC: Arcanist, dabbles in other disciplines.)

Enzel Silverfist (Faerie) -Ragna's apprentice, a tall and reticent girl who, despite her training in the arcane arts, seems to prefer solving problems with her fists. (MNK. IC: PUNCH STUFF and a lil magic.)

Ehr Tohl (Faerie) -A young dragonet from Nidhogg’s brood trying to find his place in the world after the end of the Dragonsong War. Curious and friendly. Accompanied by his surrogate mother, a white aevis named Faye, formerly an Ishgardian noblewoman from 600 years past. (WHM. IC: Dislikes fighting and and avoids it if possible.)

Relulu Relu (Cactuar) -Adventurer/healer, constantly exasperated. (The result of my WHM of Darkness headcanons being jossed and deciding to make an OC w them instead.) (WHM. IC: conjurer)

Memenu Menu (Mateus) -One of Faunh & Elouan's adventuring companions. Died at Carteneau. Sassy grandma. Formerly of the Order of Nald’thal. (BLM. IC: thaumaturge)

Whispering Glacier (Zalera) -A young mountain Hellsguard who has decided to see the world. Curious & clever. (BLM/RDM. IC: Would be Dancer if it exists. Uses a variant of thaumaturgy.)

Laelius Valens (Goblin) [Laelius dus Valens] -Pureblood Garlean. Commoner who left home & took on a new name & became a security guard for a scientific facility in Islabard. AFAB NB, presents as male. Sharp-witted, dislikes attention & prefers to keep their head down. Self-preservation first and foremost. Reluctantly befriends a young scientist & does their best to keep him out of trouble. (PLD/DRG/MCH. IC: Trained with sword & shield, halberd, firearms.)

Estellise Sidos (Tonberry) -Expy of Estelle from Tales of Vesperia. Mostly a placeholder character b/c Tonberry was my first server and I like to visit. And use the game as a dress-up doll simulator. (PLD/WHM)

Half Highlander/half Hellsguard. Kerrich Fairclough: (all I've got is a name and appearance here) Kamui: a Hingan Raen found adrift in the ocean. He joined the crew with nowhere else to go. Loyal but doesn't talk much about his past. (Two Lalafell brothers who don't have names yet.) Paoriri Paori: XIVth Legion laquearius, was Sivana’s first army buddy. From Southern Islabard near Thavnair. Tannem: XIVth Legion signifer, originally from Dalmasca. She and Paoriri are an item. Céline & Maixentais Durant: Nennali's adoptive parents.

Akiv'a Ryaol: a Miqo’te from a remote Keeper tribe deep in the mountains of Coerthas. His father was a wandering adventurer from the Basilisk (P) tribe who took his young son with him. Saved Imry's life once and they became (reluctant on his part) friends. They are now nigh inseparable to the point where they're often assumed to be a couple. (They aren't; both of them are painfully gay.) Khai Ryaol [P'khai Tia]: Akiv'a’s father. His relationship with Akiv'a’s mother Kiht was unusual in that they had children due to mutual affection for each other. Deceased as of the Calamity. (Akiv'a is named after his grandmother, Akiv, in a slight deviation from regular keeper lore) Iiriku Rururiku: (former) Sultansworn and reluctant adventurer. One of Faunh & Elouan's companions. He and Memenu were old friends. Sanlie Kierha [N'kierha Sarre]: N'valyh's half sister by their father N'sarre. They didn't grow up together and only met as adults. Sefika Ryaol [Sef]: Akiv'a’s cousin, a fierce hunter with a wicked sense of humor. Calgaran Talareis: a mysterious Duskwight woman who trained Imry when she was a fledgling adventurer for a time. Montienne David: Nennali and Tache’s childhood friend. Nennali's parents took him in after he lost his remaining family to the Calamity. X'lhenai: an Ala Mhigan refugee Nennali meets on her travels. They have a tempestuous relationship at best. Duua Kagon: sky pirate, formerly of the Steppe.

Fandoms: FFVII and Kiseki, and I keep meaning to write more for Kiseki

Two-shot: I only have one and that's It's Over, Be Still which is about Aeris killing Sephiroth and is mainly a venue for pretentious vibes and spite. I don't know why any other human but me would like it.

I turned it into a two-shot after discovering the root word for "Cetra" is a type of lyre, tripping down a Wikipedia hole about Orphic cults, and getting pissed again about somebody saying Aeris could Fix Sephiroth With Her Boundless Wells Of Compassion. I'll probably add another chapter the next time I get really annoyed about it.

Most popular multichapter: Wars Waged In Us, my only real multi-chapter.

Actual worst part of writing: Putting the words... onto the page. Just actually doing the writing. It's a challenge, getting started is really hard, and usually by the time I'm ready to actually write a scene I've "solved" it in my head already and I want to move on to something else. Still I write sequentially for some reason.

How you choose your titles: I usually decide on them after I've already written the piece. I'll often start with song lyrics for working titles and then revise to pick up something that's more in line with the content of the chapter/work. Wars Waged In Us is a tweaked lyric from Shelby Merry's When the Darkness Comes - a very AeriSeph song that ironically doesn't have much to do with the fic at all.

Do you outline: Yes for most things. Wars has a massive story bible. I outline most things. The stuff I always call Pretentious Vibes I just sit down and slam out though. It's fun to do that, too.

Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: I plan to get to at least a couple of these but:

A Randy/Sara fic supposing they've known each other and lived in the same strange world since they were kids. Criminal that these two didn't have more of a relationship in canon and I intend to correct that.

Fresh off of his Post-CSII Big Life Changes, Gauis meets Kloe in the Grancel Cathedral when Sieg and Zeo perch together in the rafters. He shares some of his misgivings about home and responsibility and takes heart from the conversation. They only discover each other's identities after the fact.

Something for Wazy, something for Loewe, something for Estelle and something for Aurelia, just because they all deserve it ♥

Aeris SOLDIER AU fic. It's funny that all my friends have written more for this AU than I have. I'm not sure what my take would be - probably focused on how alien she is in this world. I cherry-picked several ideas from it for the intro to Wars, but I'd still like to go back to it. Probably the central plot would be about Aeris searching for her mother, who successfully escaped the Shinra building but had to leave her behind.

How I feel about this character

they are both very cool and, like the other ward knights, they have a very special place in my heart. :3

i even named one of my guinea pigs after grinnaux, who also was my 2nd knight to play and he still is.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

grinnaux: i had an oc who i shipped with grinnaux in the beginning. her name was estelle (now it's celeste because of what happens to her during her own story) and she's also a trueborn dzemael, one of his cousins to be exact. she died before dalamudfall and is a great loss for him but he's never talks about her. she's his secret.

(she's been taken over since a while by @the-righteous-heart , hence the name change. (we put two more seperate characters together and there she was))

paulecrain: none (yet, who knows when it happens xD)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

ryo, my wol, meets them both in the trial by combat. she and grinn are having fun while fighting one another. they're both very headstrong and can go berserk, which would lead them someday to be probably rly good friends.

she would join them both (and guerrique) for some drinking time but she'd never dare to do an armwrestling match against grinn after she heard the story of him beating guerrique rly hard in the face after losing. <_<°

len and aveline know grinn since childhood and later met paulecrain too when he joined grinns group of friends...

they're both not very fond of them. grinnaux wasn't very nice to them either when they were younger and he still made fun of aveline when she joined the inquisition. aveline and len were still rly good friends with estelle until she died.

grinnaux and aveline grew a bit together after her death but still are very distant and they dislike each other on a personal basis, which later changes.

len, being a weirdo because she loves behemoths, sees a bit of that animal in grinnaux; physically strong and very angry but she believes that there's more behind the facade. there must be a reason for him to be that angry all the time, she thinks. :3 she doesn't know paulecrain enough to say something about him tho...

My unpopular opinion about this character

grinnaux: i think he can be rly rly nice and also very intelligent. being a dzemael must be one of the reasons for me atleast. he's hotheaded but not dumb (i've read stuff like grinnaux being not smart at all but i rly hope that's not true TuT)

paulecrain: i'm not exactly sure what the 'he assaulted a woman while being under the fortemps' means but this ... this is in fact an issue for me, because it could mean anything and i'm very unsure how to interpret his lore, hence my slight distance towards paulecrain.

even though i like him when i don't see this part of his lore.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

(every single one of the ward was tempered, so i'm hoping for a big redemption arc for every single one of them.)

i hope something happens involving tarresson de dzemael and his son, grinnauxs uncle (we don't know that man yet and i want to meet him! >:C)

i also hope edmont will be involved because of paulecrain and his time as knight of house fortemps.

i think both ways could have an interesting story dynamic too.

(as for the ward as a whole, i wish we can have them as our partners for future saving-the-world-plans :3)
