No kiss. very fine morning F59 ½° at 9 am breakfast at 9 5 to 9 40 - then an hour talking to my father and Marian - then till about 11 ½ settling George’s account etc then out with the workmen till 11 - Had Sugden, came with George who was with yesterday (too) 1st time to learn to drive - had Ruthin in the tax cart (Sugden’s) went very fairly well - Charles and James H- and Carter and James Greenwood of Godley cottage began mowing for my father this morning - began with the paddock - Mark Hepworth’s 3 sons began mowing Mythom holme for me - looking over the estate plan and wrote out measurement of Mytholm land occupied by A. Green - out at 2 10 walking by the side of A- (on her pony) as far as Mytholm - then called and gave Mrs Aquilla Green the measurement of the farm, and staid sometime talking to Hannah Green - then looked into Mytholm barn and house - told Mrs Dewhirst I hoped she would get to her house at upper brea as soon as she could - then weeding in the garden there (the strawberries bed) till after 5 - saw A- returning and walked back home with her - then with the workmen –

the new door stead put into the new doing up far cow house - ordered window to be broken out - the mowers had done the paddock and had begun the wheat field - Robert S- and his man finished the drain from the front stable to the dunghill -came in at 6 20 - dinner at 6 25 - coffee - upstairs - Marian had her friend to tea - sat talking to A- and reading the paper - tea at 9 ¼ - 20 minutes with my aunt till 10 5 - Letter tonight from Mr George Cooper York to say the ponies are quite well, and quiet to ride or in harness ,and ready to be sent for anytime next week - note tonight from Mrs Holmes West Grove in answer to mine of yesterday to say she and Mr H- will drink tea with me tomorrow - fine day - F62° now at 10 ¼ pm
