This weekend! At @hepworthwakefield 💙💜💛🖤

The Hepworth Wakefield’s Print Fair—the go-to place to buy and explore all things print—returns on Sat 16 and Sun 17 March. The fair will take place at Tileyard North, the refurbished mill opposite The Hepworth Wakefield.

Visitors will be able to buy work directly from over 60 emerging and established artists and collectives—working in linocut printing, mono-printing, screen-printing, collagraph, woodcut, risograph, cyanotype, textile design and more—alongside a selection of galleries which specialise in selling prints.

Across the weekend, families can get creative with printmaking workshops and activities in the exhibition spaces which are guaranteed to keep budding artists occupied.

Visitors can also enjoy brunch, lunch or a slice of cake and a coffee in The Hepworth Wakefield café, street food and pop-ups by @eatmormor, @goodboyburger and @rabbithole.coffee, or visit the Yorkshire Brasserie and The Distillery in Tileyard North.

Entry to the Print Fair is £2 / FREE for Members and under 18s. Tickets are available to purchase on the door.

During the Print Fair weekend, exhibition tickets are half price so that visitors can experience all that The Hepworth Wakefield has to offer this spring. Exhibition entry is FREE for Members, Wakefield District residents and under 18s.

Hole TBC While I was in the UK last week I spent a little bit of time shooting down by The Hepworth Wakefield. On my way back to the car I stuck my nose over the bridge parapet and looked down into the old boat yard and the River Calder. You couldn't see a great deal with the naked eye, so I thought I'd do a long-ish exposure with the Fujifilm NZ X-T20 and see what I could see. This is the result of a 13 second exposure at f5.6 ISO200. When I saw the words "Hole TBC" spray-painted onto the back of the old 'Tom Pudding' (second from the left) it gave me a welcomed little chuckle. 'Tom Pudding' was the name given to the Tub Boats which operated on the Aire and Calder Navigation (the navigable sections of the Aire and Calder Rivers). They were first introduced way back in 1863 and used right up until about 1985 and used to transport coal from various open cast collieries to the Port of Goole. By all accounts, their name came from when they are strung together they resemble a string of black puddings, and the first name of the original constructor, "Tom".
