So why am I sitting in the service manager’s office with such a huge smile? I felt super blessed and accomplished at the same time. The conversations were engaging. They all took notes. They all gathered ideas. They were serious about moving in the right direction. While I am not employed at that dealership I completely understood the team and their needs. I was able to facilitate a discussion that was impactful. It also brings me back to 2008 when I had a multiple role position in the dealership where I was not only a BDC Manager but also sales manager and process facilitator for the entire store. Back then I was as green as they come. I was twenty five years old with a lot of weight and responsibility on my shoulders of being a young manager. I had mentors and I was self invested into learning my craft. It’s also why I went bald by 30 😂😂😂 The point is I love where I am at in life when it comes to my career. This is the part of the year where everyone talks about improvements in business and in their lives. Many industries have conventions that are an opportunity for self-improvement and skill development. I am going to be at #nada2023 where my focus will be to attend sessions and learn from some incredible people. I will also be walking around and learning about new tools & technology that allows me to better help the industry that I serve. I spent two weeks training myself, reading books, watching videos, and developing my thought processes of what I would do if I was in charge of this or that. I put these learnings into my personal self and into my business. I developed a hot topic that you will read and hear me talk a lot about in 2023.
