ngl i feel like people who say nandermo are too feral or unhinged to be cuddly when they get together just do not fully understand their relationship. yes, they're insane murderers and bad people, but they're definitely gonna cuddle and hold hands and giggle into kisses. like have you even seen them before? did we already forget nandor wants to kiss guillermo all over his face? guillermo cuddled his little nandor doll the way he obv wants to cuddle real nandor. nandor wants to be babied and guillermo wants to baby him that is a gigantic part of their relationship that will manifest itself differently when they're together. i mean, we may not SEE much of it on screen because of the documentary format but art and fics of them being soft together when in an established relationship isn't ooc at all. what makes them so interesting (and frustrating in a positive way) is that they're obviously DYING to just be soft.

Once upon a time, I was rewatching s2 and livetweeting it and there was that part where Guillermo left and Nandor said he’d cared for him like a son or something and I was like, “idk if that’s true, but it’s totally possible that Guillermo still wants to call him Daddy” and so I might have manifested this.

I’m real sorry. I didn’t mean anything by it. Best laid plans of mice and men and all that, though.

Not to say that it makes any of Nandor’s actions (in Freddie or otherwise) okay or anything, but Nandor is not the only deeply selfish person in the Nandermo relationship. Guillermo’s selfishness manifests very, very differently to Nandor’s - i.e. it doesn’t usually impact characters that we the audience care about - and he’s also nicer and suffers a lot more for it so it’s easier to forget. 

But he very much has spent over a decade helping to murder countless innocent humans in pursuit of an entirely selfish goal. And on the more personal level, even in this episode his main concern wasn’t how Nandor’s behaviour affected Freddie and Marwa, but how it affected him. Like, the irony of him telling Nandor that what he did to them was messed up, then telling him how much it upset him and that that’s why he should feel bad, and then telling Nandor he makes everything about himself!

Vampirism is an inherently selfish existence. A vampire survives through the sacrifice of others. It’s always going to have to be a theme in any work that features them (…except the ones that skirt around the issue by doing the whole animal blood, steal from the blood bank, etc. thing). You’d have to be a selfish person to want to be one.

Guillermo is sweet and adorable and I love him, he’s one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, and he is, in his own way, just as much of a monster as the vampires, he just wears a cuter jumper
