Session 20 - “Hell Divers” -10-12-22

-Naomi has successfully snuck out of the Miller Home without alerting anyone

-A gentle reminder that Vivellie doesn’t HAVE to breathe…..interesting!

-Naomi (going through the nearby woods) is feeling lightheaded and smelling campfire

-Dark Ezra and Dark Naomi have “melted in the woods”

-A smell of burning cedar

-“I want to religion check the smell” —> “You know what the smells REMINDS you of…”

-The point of no return, continuing to follow the scent

-Something is … different, there is absolute silence

-“In the absence of everything, one’s mind can imagine anything…”

-There’s an opening bathed in moonlight…

-Naomi is falling off a cliff, DN caught her and holding onto her

-A deep rattling breath from DN, who looks…decrepit

-“You need me as much as I need you. If not more.” (I can’t remember who said this lol)

-DN looks normal again

-“What’s the Golden Angel without her Wings?”

-“We’re on the same team. We’re not like everyone else and I don’t know why. You asked me a question a few days ago and I think I know the answer now. That’s why I’m important. Together WE can make anything real. WE can make the rules.”

-Who makes the rules now? —> Naomi sees a vision of herself looking into The Reflecting Pool, implying the Coralogia make the rules

-The Golden Angel has numbers? Followers? The dark shadow versions?

-Also DN has gone back to being a mummy/skeleton/decaying corpse

-“JUST. LET. GO.”

-DN has pushed Naomi off the cliff

-“Would Naomi scream?” - Sarah

-“No.” - Alex

-DN in her rotted corpse form looking down over the cliff as Naomi plummets to her death

-Naomi is suddenly back in her bed. It was all a dream?

-But she has leaves in her hair, a tear in her shirt. DN is not there.

-What is real?

-“Get some rest. We both need it.” -DN

-Gay Ezra was also having a weird dream because of course he was

-“Do I remember her [DN] getting heated like that before the Baptism?” -Alex

-“Yes. Once.”

-Before she learned civility, Naomi used to scream ferociously

-Naomi has woken up the rest of the group up, we’re going to investigate the cliff together

-It’s kind of like how it happened the first time — I don’t know what this note means

-When asked where DN was, Snaomi wanted us to go up to the mountain — bad skellie!

-Caught in Naomi’s hair is a black feather

-There are two footprints leading up to the cliff’s edge

-Viv is seething with rage

-Sam is bargaining with Sarah to see traces of magic on Naomi

-Cass is detecting a special detect magic — Naomi is feeling a sort of static energy — Cass has NEVER felt this before — Watts is growling?? — And he transforms?? — A HOLOGRAM OF EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED HAS APPEARED?

-As Naomi was about to hit the water, DN pooped them both away

-DN looked extremely frustrated, flapped her scary wings, seemed to be forbidden to speak in certain ways like those under contract in the past have

-JUST LET GO

-Naomi cannot cast (I think this was when DN was resting)

-Can Naomi channel something…else? Something guttural (?) —> an all of light that for a split second showed Naomi’s face as the rotting corpse version of DN

-SCRYING DETECTED? ON EZRA? ALONE? IN THE BUBBLE? What the fuck is going on???

-Viv put one of Naomi’s hairs (the she snuck in like session 2) into The Chalice and asked Vytris to protect her

-Viv then reached out to DN to threaten her

-“If you harm one hair on her head, or one feather on her wings, I will hunt you to the ends of this world and I will EAT you.”

-Shot gun blast — a small connection

-Something was amiss while we were gone!

-The smell of coffee

-Cass just…did that…didn’t know she could —> burn the spell slots

-Cass looks sleep deprived, exhausted slightly

-Ellie put on a traditional sexy nun fit with the Viv fit (to go to the Mines), but was dissuaded by Judd. She then changed into black jeans with a red crop top sweater, sleeveless with an ample boob window, combat boots and her Revivify earrings

-Naomi is wearing pants, a step below Chris Evans in Knives out in vibe

-Cass is wearing an old factory jump suit and an old bomber jacket embroidered with the name Abe (Grandad)

-Old Watts (?)

-Telling Ezra (Gay) that someone was trying to scry on us

-VE went to the sodie shop (boobing as boobily as possible) trying to make an impression on the townsfolk and to announce that we are, in fact, going to the Mines

-Lydia gave us little lunchboxes

-I asked Lydia about the package (the old dress we spitefully delivered to Riley) and fear crossed her eyes

-We are at The Mines <3

-Viv examining the claw marks after Ellie was famously too busy dancing with the Skellies to notice anything the first time —> a 24 survival check AND a Nat 1 wisdom save (lol)

-Reaching down to touch the mud where the claw marks are, except suddenly it takes the visage of scratched marble instead. A vision. VE stands up and is being led up a set of grandiose marble stairs culminating in a sort of throne or altar of some kind. There is a masculine figure sitting on the throne. On each side are two, massive (dire wolf sized) hell-hounds (blood red and breathing steam)

-Access to Viv has been cut off

-There was this whole scene of Naomi rushing to VE and cradling her in her arms as Ellie asked Vytris to give Viv back, and then Viv coming out of the darkness to be with Naomi. Lesbian stuff

-Viv is angry and very scared despite this

-Cass is trying to hot wire the elevator

-There is one part of the cable that seems to have been tampered with. Cass mended it

-There are scary, deep down noises occurring

-Viv is trying to step on Naomi’s shadow (DN) like a bug

-People are mining (there were strange bumping nosies throughout the place that we simply didn’t investigate)

-The Lost Hell Divers?

-It does feel weird down here…a similar compulsion to what Abe had described. Pulling us deeper. We all feel a bit lightheaded and there seems to be static in the air

-This area seems…recently trafficked

-It’s not…disused, but it does look “picked clean” of minerals and ores and stuff

-There ARE claw marks along the caverns here

-A FAINT GREEN GLOW? DIR??

-The knocking sounds from above us continue (and we continue ignoring them)

-We come to a larger open cavern after following the green light. There is a HUGE green crystal vein with the similar dark black inclusions (a la when the Dump Item stole Mira’s soul)

-There are some plants trying to grow around the base of the crystal, through the cracks, trying to “choke” the crystal…they’re Dodder plants (a parasitic and invasive species that kill other plants)

-On the left side of the room, there is a bunch of abandoned mining equipment and two seemingly mummified skeletons wearing mining equipment

-There is teleportation magic residue on signals etched into the ground near the crystal

-We are touching the crystal — static energy courses through our bodies (and through the internal ley system I assume)

-Naomi- As she reaches out, DN’s hand follows along with Naomi’s and it feels…euphoric. They feel like an overcharged battery — very powerful in this moment. “This is what power and religion and faith could feel like. Should feel like.”

-Vivellie- We were looking specially for the divine and we’ve found it. In an echolocation sense, it’s like a whale screaming directly into the microphone. We see ourself, dark hair, cradling a lavender haired woman. Her throat is cut open and bleeding. A wave of incomprehensible mix of grief, love, and passion coming to a white hot moment of disastrous proportions

-Cass- taken back to a moment almost a week ago, laying in bed with Molly and casting identify on a green crystal (the Dump Item). Three words come to mind: Vitalia, Moretenia, and Saetus. (Cass was also specifically looking for what mineral composition the crystal was made of.)

-After seeing this, Viv said everyone had to get the FUCK out. This is too easy. We simply walked up to the residuum everyone seemed to think didn’t exist. It’s a trap.

-As we turned to leave, Normal Steele arrived with his pack of hellhounds

-Cass is…bargaining with him

-She wants her divinity back —> Norman: “You’ll have to talk about your…new manager about that.”

-I think she asked: “Why Woodvale?” And Norman said: “They’re the perfect test case for my aspirational partnership.”

-Norman is wearing a glamor, and has the inky, shadow version of Cass (Enforcer Cass) next to him

-DN is coming out her cage, and doing just fine (trying to examine Norman and his menagerie)

-Steele actually has a reptilian head with lord horns, long arms — a lizard-like devilish creature. Certainly seems very powerful. If not an arch devil, a strong devil trying to work his way up

-A Battle!
