A/N: You know I had to do it. *Spoilers for the latest episode of NCIS, and therefore certain LA characters.

Deeks: Hey, you guys want to grab drinks after this? I know a place that has half off margaritas and five dollar draft beers.

Callen, shaking his head: I’d love to, but Anna can’t.

Deeks, surprised: Oh, I thought she was off for a few days.

Callen, catching himself: She is. Uh, she just hasn’t be feeling that great and uh, yeah, I wouldn’t want to go out without her.

Deeks, picking up on the tell: She doesn’t feel good?

Callen: Yeah, she has one of those bugs going around.

Deeks, nodding: Uh-huh. If I recall correctly, Anna had norovirus a few weeks ago and before that, she ate some weird jalapeño poppers. *he purses his lips, squinting at Callen thoughtfully* Anna wouldn’t be pregnant by chance, would she?

Callen, too shocked to deny it: How the hell did you figure that out?

Deeks, holding up three fingers: One: I have experience from keeping Kensi’s pregnancy a secret. Remember the bad shawarma? Two: I’ve known you for fifteen years and know your lying face. Three: It’s literally the plot of every romance novel with a pregnancy storyline.

Callen: I need to read more.

Deeks: So, when did you find out the big news?

Kensi, walking in from the bedroom: What good news? Did Anna get that promotion?

Callen: Not exactly. You know how she hasn’t been feeling super great—

Kensi: Oh my god, she’s pregnant! I knew she didn’t eat bad sushi.

Deeks: Yep, tell-tale sign.

Callen: You two are very annoying.

Sibling Rivalry

Y/n freezes when she hears the creak of a door opening. She crouches down behind the couch, reaching for her gun. She waits for the footsteps to get louder before standing up, her gun pointing at the intruders. “NCIS!”

“LAPD!” “NCIS!”

“Callen?”

“Y/n?” Callen lowers his gun, causing the rest of his team and Y/n to do the same. “What the hell are you doing in Los Angeles?”

“Special assignment.”

“What kind of special assignment?” Sam asks.

“Sorry, but if your name isn’t Vance, Gibbs, or Hetty than I can’t tell you.”

“Even if it involves you being in the house of our main suspect in a murder investigation?” Kensi questions.

“Even then.”

“Is anyone going to tell me who this woman is?” Deeks demands as he glares at the woman smirking at him. 

Y/n steps towards him. “Still a cop I see. Not ready to put both feet in the NCIS swimming pool?” She doesn’t wait for a response; holding out her hand. “I’m Special Agent Y/n Y/l/n. I’m usually in D.C. but once upon a time I worked for Hetty. She requested me and I couldn’t say no.” After shaking his hand, Y/n crosses her arms over her chest.

“Wait, Hetty wanted you specifically for this job?” Y/n nods her head at Callen. “She’s still hiding things from us.”

“Relax, G. It was Director Vance that wanted to keep this hush hush. We’re all just obeying orders.” Y/n grabs her bag from off the ground. “Now, can we play nice and share? Or do I have to go over your heads to the big boss?”

“I still don’t understand what Gibbs sees in you.” 

“Funny. I was wondering the same thing about you.” Y/n coolly retaliates.

Sam chuckles, earning a glare from his partner. “What? I forgot how easy it is for her to get under your skin.”

“Does he still complain about how I beat him in hand to hand combat?”

Sam nods his head. “Tells everyone you cheated.”

Y/n snorts. “Same ol’ G Callen. Such a sore loser.”

“Y/n, shut up!” Callen shouts, but there’s no malice in his tone.

“You know you love me, Callen. I’m like the little sister you never wanted.”

“Ain’t that the truth.”
