I need to comment on these tags because it’s something I’ve thought of, too, and very imteresting. She tells D’Argo that she’s not so sure about being a mother but she wants it because John does. It always struck me that she doesn’t necessarily feel obligated, well maybe she does somewhat, but she loves John so much that his want for it is her want for it.

And then at the end of PK Wars when she was speaking to him when he was in a coma and says “as wonderful as this [the baby] is, I won’t take it as a tradeoff for losing you.” Like, that’s so taboo for any mother to say that she loves her partner- the love of her life- more than she loves her newborn child. I think if it really came down to it she wouldn’t abandon the baby. In that moment she loves John more than their baby, but I think all of her character development over the course of the show would go out the window if he had died and she abandoned the baby.

Just realizing that the fact that John never made it back to earth at the end of Farscape is not really typical of those kinds of stories. Imagine if the Voyager crew never made it back home at the end of Star Trek: Voyager. I think fans would go insane lmao.

The way they did it on Farscape was really interesting because in season 4 when they got to earth in present time, he didn’t fit in anymore. He felt like he didn’t belong on earth and Aeryn certainly wouldn’t have fit in. John tried to go back to his old life and he couldn’t. He had become a different person. And the when the Screeth (or however it’s spelled) invaded his home, he realized the Peacekeepers knew where he was and that soon the Scarrans would, too, so he had to leave for the sake of earth. And then at the end of the series when he realized that the Peacekeepers and Scarrans were still a threat to earth he had to permanently seal the wormhole. He’d never be able to go to earth again. In a way it feels bittersweet as a viewer because he spent most of the series trying to find his way home, and when he finally did, he couldn’t stay- both because he was a threat if he stayed there and because he didn’t fit in amymore. Aeryn was his home now and he’d be wherever she would be. Over 4 years the crew of Moya became his family so in a way I’m glad he stayed on Moya and made a family with Aeryn

I used to make a form of pixel art when I was a kid without realizing that it was a thing. I used to play with MS Paint a lot and one day realized that if you zoom in to like 1000% you can see the grid of individual pixels. so i would see what happened when I made different patterns and then zoomed out. That’s also how I learned that if you alternate pixels of two different colors you get a third color when you zoom out.

EVERY JOHNAERYN KISS  |  1x13 “The Flax”

My 16-year-old cat is on this arthritis medication called Solensia. It’s an injection that he has to get once a month, and it’s almost like a miracle. I had been noticing some signs of arthritis, specifically in the way he walks up stairs, so I brought it up to my vet and she suggested that my cat tries it. I didn’t notice much of a difference after the first shot, but then after the 2nd shot and all of the subsequent ones, there’s such a huge difference. While he does still limp when he walks up the stairs, he can jump up on the couches and bed with no problem. He had started to dig his nails in when he jumped onto furniture because he was having trouble jumping high enough. He chases the laser and light reflections again like he used to, and he gets the zoomies at night. Today I heard him playing with one of his toys, and sort of playing catch with himself where he flings it in the air and then runs after it. He sounded like a horse galloping up and down the hallway. It’s so wonderful to see (and hear) him acting like this again. The arthritis had developed slowly over time and I hadn’t realized the things he had stopped doing so much until he’s able to do them again now. 🥹
