[10:33 pm] "where's my sick lil bean?" You groaned from the comfort of you bed at fiance!jaehyuns voice. The bed dipped near your thighs as Jaehyun sat down and ran his fingers through your hair. You sat up slightly but almost immediately went into a harsh coughing fit. Tears involuntarily ran down your cheeks from the discomfort in your throat.

"Oh my gosh, baby, do you need me to get you anything?" You wiped your cheeks as tears continued to fall. Jaehyun rested his hand on your knee when you sniffled and coughed lightly again.

"Just some water please and then would you be able to come to bed soon? I already took medicine, now I just want to be with you.." you sniffled again and sighed, placing your fingers over your fiance's. Jaehyun nodded and hurried off to get you some water.

After slipping into a pair of sweats and a tshirt, jaehyun climed into bed next to you. He placed his hand over your forehead briefly before planting his lips to it softly. Your forehead was quite warm, and the rest of your skin was getting hotter by the minute. You kicked off the blanket to expose your bare legs.

"Do you want me to touch you at all sweetheart?" Jaehyuns voice sounded as if he was fearful of breaking you. You turned to him and laid on your stomach.

"I mean, I would love to cuddle but I really dont want to get you sick.." he moved a stray piece of hair from your eyes before pulling you on top of him, one arm wrapped around your waist.

"Dont worry about me baby, just sleep." You gave him a small smile before turning away and coughing again.

"Sorry, I love you jae" jaehyun smile again kissed your cheek.

"I love you too baby"

[3:46 am] "I really tried Mark.. I really, really tried tonight." You sighed as you paced around your shared bedroom, gathering your pencil case and notebook. fiance!Mark sat at the edge of your bed, observing your distressed figure. You caught sight of him in the mirror as he let out a silent yawn.

"Oh my gosh- I'm so sorry for keeping you up baby.. you should get to sleep, really, I'll be okay for tonight." After setting your things down on the bed, you stood in front of Mark and ran your fingers through his hair. He leaned into your touch as one of your hands reached his cheek, the other still massaging his scalp. One of his hands found its place on your hip while the other laid over yours on his cheek.

"But I want to cuddle you.." he looked up at you, wide eyed with a small pout on his lips. Pouting back at him, you then sighed.

"Babe it's already almost 4am; I don't think I'll be able to sleep yet. Even if I take something it'll take a while for it to work and I dont want to keep you up anylon- wha-" you were surprised when Mark picked you up and laid you on your side of the bed before turning off the lights. He placed your notebook and pencil case on his bedside table and climbed into bed next to you.

"You had been sleeping relatively okay the past few nights so your stuff is there with water if you need to take it, but until you do, we are going to cuddle and I'm going to do all I can to get you sleepy." You decided not to argue with him and nodded instead. You placed a quick kiss on his lips before laying in his arms.

After exchanging 'i love you's, you stared out the window as Mark ran his fingers through your hair and began humming a familiar tune. You had doubts about this working but if it would get your fiance to sleep, it was the least you could do for him. The moonlight that softly illuminated the room was enough to keep you distracted until sleep decided to finally take over.

[10:04 am] your breathing started to get shakey as you found you were pressing yourself against the back wall. you had your arms wrapped around your binder. You chewed on your lip as your eyes shifted around the room, looking for your easiest and fastest way out. The room continued to fill with people; your breathing quickened. The knot in your stomach got tighter, you feel a weight in your chest getting heavier. You didn't notice when your nails began to dig into your arm, creating red cresent shapes among the other moon shapped scars. Your eyes continued to dart around the room, tears beginning to form. You still didn't notice as your nails dig deeper.

You didn't notice, until donghyuck gently pulled your curled fingers away from your arm before intertwinging them with his own. Your eyes stopped their frantic flickering and landed on the boy beside you. His eyes were soft yet filled with concern as he softly shook his head. Tears finally spilled from you eyes as he pulled you out of the crowed space and into a vacant, quiet classroom. Your breathing was shallow and rappid as you subconsiously began to dig your nails into your arm once again. Donghyuck hurried back over to you after shutting the door. He pulled your binder from your arms and envolopped you in a hug. Your boyfriend held your head to his chest, stroking your hair and quietly telling you to breathe. You pulled away to wipe your dampened cheeks, donghyuck rubbing your arms softly as you did so.

You stared down at the floor, your breathing still unstable, tears still threatening to spill. As donghyuck went through your bag to get your water bottle, you subconsiously brought your fingers up to the base of your neck and pulled at your skin. Donghyuck rushed over to you again with your water and pulled your hand away from your neck. "i- i'm sorry.." your voice was barely a whisper and cracked when you spoke. Donghyuck brought your hands to his lips and kissed them, "no, there's nothing for you to apologize for. This happens, it's okay, we just have to work through it." You nodded as he pulled you into another hug and kissed the top of your head softly.

you'd be singing one year,,,,, dancing the next

finally,,,, you got into watercolour painting and it stuck with you

four years later,, you're still going strong

everyone around you had these drawings showing up on their skin

you found out that they were drawings from their soulmates

the more it came up,,, the more you began to wonder why you didn't have any

alright!! it's story timeee

one nice autumn day

you were at home at your desk

paintbrush in hand

you were feeling inspired by the beauty outside

you mixed a puddle of this burgundy colour

and started painting this like autumn themed flower

this was like your style;

flowers, leaves, and that thing at the beginning LMAO

it was usually this behind some writing

like cute little quotes or some lyrics

you continued adding other colours

reds, dark greens, oranges, golden yellows, y'know

every stroke you made with that your brush would show up on his skin

they have ever since you pick up the brush for the first time

one day, four years ago

four days before his first day of highschool

so he's like facing the wall and taking off his shirt

he was in awe for a good 15 seconds

he's gotta save it because it'll disapear in a few days!1!!!1

but to his suprise, it didn't disapear

it's been 3 weeks and it's only now starting to fade

where as the smaller ones would be gone with in a few days

after getting that painting on his back,,,, he had a feeling you probably lived in Seoul

so when there were papers posted about there being an art show nearby

he jumped at the chance,,,,, in hopes of finding his soulmate

that friday after school,,,,,,,

he changed he made his way to the nearby art gallery

at the door he was given a pamphlet that had the names and shit on it

one name caught his eye

he recognized that name from school

you got picked up your waterbottle as he came up

you set it back down,,,,, smiling and turning to him

'hey, donghyuck right?

he smiled back at you

'yeah, Y/N, i like your paintings'

no one was really coming around so y'all started convorsation

'thank you, i've been working up to this point for years'

you smiled,,, he nodded andn took a deep breath

'i know we just started talking and this might scare you but,,,, uh,,,, i think we're soulmates,,'

your eyes widen when he looks up at you

he decided to show you a few pictures of the art he's gotten over the years

'did you paint that?'

you nodded and he continued

'one came up a few weeks ago,,,, it was on my back,, it's still kind of there,,,,, but it's how i know we're soulmates'

you looked at him and then nodded hesitantly

and there it was,,,,, there was your Seoul skyline painting,,,, down to every detail

even your signature

you were so overjoyed and overwhelmed with all of this new information

yoU DIDN'T REALIZE THAT YOU WERE CRYING

until you felt Donghyuck wipe a tear off your cheek

I MEAN OBVIOUSLY YOU'D CRY

you've been living life thinking you just didn't have a soulmate

you'd pretend that it didn't matter to you

but like,,,, you knew you didn't want to be alone for the rest of your life

you wrapped your arms around his neck and cried into his shoulder

he quietly shushed you and hugged you back

for your 17th birthday you got a tattoo

the exo lucky one logo on your left wrist

(sorry if you don’t like them, i used exo because renjun loves exo and i actually have this tattoo in real life)

so randomly one weekend, while Renjun is drawing at home

(if you don’t know what getting a tattoo feels like: it feels like the tip of a sharp knife slightly cutting into your skin,,,,,,it’s not that bad,,,, and that was a shit description im sorry)

so he turns his wrist to see what’s going on

lo and behold there’s the Lucky One logo being etched onto his skin

‘why do i have a thing??? can you get your soulmates tattoo??’

he concludes with, yes, you can get your soulmates tattoo

‘hm, my soulmate must really love exo’

it isn’t that bad though

it would also get kind of dry so

whenever it would get dry,,,, you mosturize it

so when you do that it feels like heaven for renjun

but like no one’s around

like it’s friday so

everyone is at home sleeping or something

you two are just walking and talking about your day

you two come across a little playground

and you run over to the swing set with him following close behind

not that it took much begging at all

beacuse y'all are both children

just enough so you’re having fun but you’re not like flying away

or almost kicking him

he gets kind of warm

so he rolls up his sleeves

s o he’s not pushing you for a few swings

and you see him reaching into his bag to get some water

he’s holding his bag with his left hand

so you see the tattoo

and you look at your wrist too

'hey Junnie, can you bring me my water too please?’

he nods and goes into your bag and grabs your water

you get up from the swing to sit on it the opposit way so you’re facing him

he walks back over to you

now you’re both just sipping your waters

lowkey admiring you, with a small smile on his face, as you look at the clouds in the sky

thinking about the same thing

but neither of you know how to bring it up

after a few minutes,,,, you broke the comfortable silence

'hey Junnie, what’s that?’

you stubly gesture the tattoo on his wrist

he looks at it and starts blushing

showing it to you before mumbling a quiet 'um,,’

before he could say any more

'Renjun,,, are we soulmates?’

letting a small smile appear on your face

then he looks down beacuse he’s a shy and embarassed boy

and you grab his hand

so he raises his head to look at your face as you look up at him

(for this scenario and most of the ones I write,, you’re gonna be like 5'0 to 5'3 because I, the author, am 5 feet tall)

you see the tattoo,,,,

the moisturizing message from earlier that day,,,,

even the faded Moomin he drew for you the day before

all in the matching places as your own arm

and stand on your tippy toes to wrap your arms around his neck in a hug

but finally he wraps both of his arms securely around your waist

taking in your scent because he loves it

you close your eyes and lift your head so you’re closer to his ear

'Junnie,,,,’

he hums in response

'I’m really happy we’re soulmates’

he loosens his hold on your waist and pulls back slightly to look at your face

(and finally stand flat on your feet)

and he kisses your forhead before gazing at you with adoration filling his eyes

'me too’

now you see

Renjun is probably my bias in nct

like I love all of the members but I have a super special place in my heart for Renjun

gosh, this sweet boy deserves the world
