NDK 2013 goers

I could go through and message all of you that I'm now following because of ndk individually and I probably will later like I am on facebook when I'm not so stressed and pressed for time so you'll actually see this.

What many of you don't know is all of the problems I'm going through have been severely mentally scarring and I don't have a normal/correct thinking process anymore. NDK has been a treat for me for many years and this year I almost wasn't able to go. Thanks to everyone single one of you wonderful, nice, cool, kick butt people. You made my weekend one to remember. You're why I'm still breathing. I love you all.

Cabaret Otaku presents a benefit for an NDK staffer

During the Cosplay & Costume Contest Award Ceremony, a beloved member of our staff had a very public medical emergency in front of a packed Main Events audience. We can't say enough how much we appreciated everyone's patience, compassion and cooperation during that time. This was the same day as the fire alarm. NDK 2013 truly saw the absolute best of everyone that Saturday!

The staffer in question, Cosplay Lieutenant Becca Cressler, is home now and recovering. But after ER visits and an extended stay in the hospital, she faces a mountain of bills. The amazing entertainers of Cabaret Otaku are putting on a very special, one night only benefit event for them and we're helping spread the word!

Here are the details:

Cabaret Otaku presents an evening to benefit the Cressler family, featuring Gian Carlo Menotti's psychological thriller, "The Medium," plus a special sneak peek at the company's cosplay performance team. Described as part Twilight Zone and part Puccini, Menotti's short stage work delves into the madness of a psychic who dabbles a bit too far into the realm of the undead.

The performance and silent auction (win private Skype calls from Chris Sabat, Eric Vale, Todd Haberkorn and more!) begins at 7 PM on Friday, Oct. 18 at The D-Note, which offers a full menu featuring sandwiches, salads, pastas, and handcrafted pizzas, as well as as full bar. Admission is $15. All proceeds will benefit the Cressler family.

Me: I actually talked to people this NDK and TRIED to come out of my shell.

Brother: Did you become friends with any of them?

Me: Did you hear the emphasis on TRIED. I feel accomplished that I talked to someone other than my roommates. It's hard to be friendly, worry people dislike me, be self conscious of my cosplay AND make friends. I can't multitask.

Brother: You've made friends before.

Me: I don't remember how!

Brother: You've gone to NDK for 10 years, how can you still have this attitude?

Me: ...Because I've grown up none since then?

Brother: Touché.

NDK 2013 Hellsing

NDK was a blast. I was a female version of Alucard, and am hoping to find pictures of me or anyone else that was dressed as Hellsing characters this year! Thanks!

NDK 2013 Friday outfit~! I was so busy with our panel and seeing everyone that I didn't have the chance to take a photo until pretty late ;u;' I had a really hard time locating all my packed accessories when I got back from Japan, so I wasn't 100% happy with this coordinate, sadly ;_;
