no name for this au yet but its just my take on a mobius/klein switcharoo

so, once upon a time, there was an actually ethical think tank. they did their science and whatnot, but klein? he wasn’t satisfied! he wanted MORE science! he knew there were plenty of things to do that didn’t involve mountains of paperwork to get approval for first.

mobius tried to sway him back onto the right path but he wouldn’t listen. the rest of the think tank tolerated him for the most part, heck, they even participated in some morally wrong experiments themselves, but then that SHITHEAD had to go and RUIN it all by teleporting the freakin mountain ! they staged a coup against him and sent him out to the forbidden dome zone . mobius sent his scorpions after that little shit to keep him inside .

they had EXILED him for his wild ideas. “The world isn’t ready for that kind of too-far thing taking,” they said. Idiots! he’d get his revenge…

he grew obsessed with the idea. the world simply wasn’t ready for the genius in his mind. he needed to show them all, to shove his ideas down their throats. hed show them all.

especially MOBIUS.

^ please imagine that with all the contempt and hatred and malice and suppressed gay feelings you can muster.

a year before the bomb dropped he sabotaged the lobotomite experiment (they had actually managed to successfully lobotomize most of them) and turned them into the good ol lobotomites we know and love :)

the freak tank really thought they could keep him under wraps. even with the constant bombardment of threats from the FORBIDDEN ZONE!

eventually he had enough of them not taking him seriously. he decided to PROVE his genius by EXTRACTING his brain and PUTTING IT INTO A THINK TANK and LIVING FOREVER, therefore marking him as THE GREATEST SCIENTIST TO EVER LIVE.

“Finally! FINALLY!” he exclaimed, “I can show them all their wrongness with my genius! They’ll see!”

the self lobotomy destroyed his rationality and pretty much most of whatever personality he had left. he then began to do stuff that could be described as evil. his ✨twisted✨sense of science began to make experiments that would make even the master blush.

at the end of it all, he released the lobotomites unto the crater, sealing their fate.

not like, the think tanks fate, just all of them in general.

unbeknownst to our humble doctor the recently installed pacification field was on the fritz again, and the lobotomites swarmed in like spongebobs to the necta i mean buzzards to a corpse. they were just sitting ducks!

so, lo and behold, the great mighty think tank lost to some brain dead imbeciles with a knack for violence.

dr klein was not informed of this.

he just kept on doing his thang in the forbidden zone, and so did the robo scorpions, still fulfilling their duty

endless patrolling endless experiments endless days and nights of waiting

the bombs dropped. the years went by. wine bottle after bottle.

What We Know About Marian

Minami Miyashita, codename Marian, is a high school first year who dreams of becoming a nurse. She joins the team as a “Phantom Idol”, or cognitive teammate.

Her Japanese voice actress is Satomi Satō.

Minami is the focus of a side story, though exactly what the earliest point it becomes available at is unclear, as she was added in a later update. Her side story centers around her internal conflict of wanting to become a nurse versus wanting to stay at home to take care of her father and their family restaurant. She also feels unable to actually discuss this with her father, as they have trouble communicating. Wonder's role ends up being to talk to both of them, then mediate a conversation between the two, making sure they each hear the other out.

Minami also had a special animated promo video focused on her.

After her side story is completed, the player will occasionally be given the chance to spend a time slot with Minami and help her out. There are two possible activities: one where Minami asks Wonder to let her practice chest compressions on him (as one does as a part of CPR), due to lacking a training dummy, and another where she asks him to help her grab groceries for the restaurant while her father's out, and she invites him to stay for dinner afterward since he's living alone right now.

Interestingly, Minami was originally introduced as a third-year student, but was later changed to be a first-year.

Minami is, first and foremost, extremely focused on others over herself. Besides this being a core aspect of her struggle in her side story, it's also present in her day-to-day life, helping her father run their restaurant and babysitting some of the kids in the Zoshigaya neighborhood. Even when she's a bit overwhelmed by the three kids, she still hesitates to ask Wonder for help, though she thanks him profusely afterward.

This is a large part of why she wants to become a nurse; her late mother was a nurse as well, and once was able to help keep an old woman alive until an ambulance arrived thanks to her skills, which left a significant impression on a young Minami. She expresses a desire to be able to help people the way her mother could, and is willing to work hard to achieve it.

While very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, she's not a pushover, either. She knows how to deal with the kids in a way that will keep them (mostly) in line, and frequently gets into (light) arguments with her father. Due to this, however, she has trouble having serious conversations with him, as they both have a tendency to interrupt each other then get annoyed by the misunderstandings, preventing the conversation from going anywhere.

Ultimately, though, she otherwise has a very close relationship with her father, and cares about him deeply, but because of this care, she finds it hard to "abandon" him to become a nurse; she believes a true nurse wouldn't leave behind someone who needs their help. When they finally have a fair conversation about it (with Wonder's help), her father supports her becoming a nurse- especially moved that she wants to be a nurse "like her mother"- and convinces her that doing so wouldn't be turning her back on him. After this, she throws herself wholeheartedly into studying.

Marian’s Persona Thalia (based on based on the Greek muse of comedy and idyllic poetry) is categorized as a Bless type, and resists Bless while being weak to Nuclear.

Thalia is a Rescue Persona, meaning she focuses on healing companions, and her trait gives any teammates below 70% health one "Nectar" at the start of every round. Her bless attack skill hits one enemy, gives all companions a blessing, and gives Marian one Nectar. Her first heal skill heals a selected teammate plus the teammate with the lowest health, dispels two status effects, gives the healed a blessing, and gives Marian one Nectar; her second heal skill consumes all Nectar and heals the whole team, with the exact amount of Nectar consumed adding to the healing and increasing all teammates' max health as well (not including Marian herself). Her passive skills boost the damage a teammate deals based on how many layers of blessing they have, and increases everyone's max health at the start of combat.

In combat, her melee weapon is a medical kit, while her ranged weapon is an automatic rifle. Her Highlight is shown from 1:54 - 2:06 in this video, and it heals all teammates and boosts their max health, then boosts it again after they take an action.

Her recommended card sets are 1) 2 of Cups (Love) + Knight of Coins (Belief), 2) 2 of Wands (Dominion) + Knight of Wands (Departure).

The game has no particular recommended teams for her at the moment.

We met Elisabeth when we visited her horticulture class at Footscray High School. Her love of plants continues at home, where she has an impressive collection of indoor plants.

At just 16 she already has about 150 plants in her room at home in Melbourne’s inner west. Elisabeth particularly loves anthuriums or flamingo plants.

For optimum plant growth she has installed full-spectrum grow lights. She also keeps her room at 80% humidity, ”which can get a little bit much,” she admits.

Elisabeth buys plants from collectors interstate and does a lot of propagation.

One is Philodendron ‘Dean McDowell’, which she points out has extra-floral nectaries that produce necta; in the wild this farmed by ants which, in turn, guard the plant, forming a mutually beneficial relationship.

A favourite plant is Anthurium warocqueenum, which has long, velvety leaves. She ordered this plant from Far North Queensland and it inspired her to create a vertical garden, because it need humidity and something to climb on.

The garden was built out of an old laundry sink and a piece of PVC foam board covered in two layers of horticultural felt; the plant roots sit between the two layers with no actual substrate. The roots attach to the felt, which absorbs liquid fertiliser from the sink and so provides all the nutrients the plants need to grow. The sink can be wheeled out to hose down and eliminate any mineral buildup.

Elisabeth was encouraged by her parents to join local planting days as a small child and grew to love colourful flowers and succulents as she got older.

A birthday gift of a Monstera deliciosa one year kick-started her collecting bug.

She now has a spreadsheet of all the plants she has, which has helped her learn the scientific names and work out what she wants to collect.

Elisabeth shows how she repots an anthurium she has propagated, first soaking it for a few hours in liquid fertiliser to reduce transplant shock, then removing any old substrate from the roots. She then put the rootball in a pot and gently backfills with growing mixture.

Her preferred substrate is a mix of LECA (lightweight expanded clay aggregate) and mineral blend designed for succulents - this reduces the risk of mould and ensures there’s no fungus gnats, which can live in potting mix. She sterilises the mix before using it; this can be done with boiling water, steam or in the microwave.
