i think misha would pick up gunbreaker in shb as an excuse to spend more time alone with thancred. and then they would do absolutely stupid shit in dungeons and trials like making out in the middle of the fight to give each other aurora from up close. and then urianger would let them die

i answered this one on twitter but for misha it was after the raid on the waking sands. somewhere in gridania, quietly in his mother’s arms after he ran away from alphinaud and cid to become an archer.

the raid was the breaking point for him that let all those lingering feelings about the Eye come through. (DRG 50 happens before the titan arc in my canon) all of a sudden he wasn’t there, he couldn’t protect anyone, and now he’s worried that he’s also susceptible to the influence of the Eye and is a danger to his friends. he can’t possibly save them like this. so he goes back to his mother, puts up his lance, and doesn’t tell her why he changed his mind again after all these years.

i like to imagine that misha and estinien have a lot of beef around the whole "the second azure dragoon chose to be a bard instead" thing. but after seeing estinien nearly fall to nidhogg, misha refuses to take that risk with himself. it scares him more than anything else.

i had to write a long ass thread about misha’s emotional state through hvw/patches/stb to figure out how he feels about zenos. tl;dr zenos is representative of all his greatest failures, and salts the wound of his job change. when zenos tells misha to live for him, misha’s first thought is that he should die to spite him.

misha disavows everything about dragoon, except for the jumps. you bet your ass he is still committing unnatural feats of verticality as a bard. nobody expects it.

We've seen many NPCs, the Scions in particular, have unique moves that their chosen jobs aren't able to use (i.e. Alphinaud's Obsidian and Moonstone Carbuncles) or moves pulled from other jobs (Gunbreaker Thancred's Perfect Deception/Souldeep Invisibility from his time as a rogue). Does your WoL have similar abilities that would be unique to them?

i originally finished ARR before the praetorium rework so i had no idea about the lahabrea solo duty. but holy fuck. i have so many thoughts about this. about them. about the scar it left behind, both on misha's body and on thancred's relationship with him.

so. about that patch 3.4,

there was a moment in early ARR where misha came onto laha!cred and it went poorly, so he got in his head about it and stopped interacting with thancred beyond Coworker Courtesy for the rest of ARR.

early post-ARR is just thancred desperately trying to bed misha again to make up for Things During Lahabrea, but misha refuses to engage with him until he's fully recovered. (he really wants to! he's exercising a gargantuan amount of restraint!)

misha was born to a viera mother and miqo'te father. his mother is a traveling adventurer who settled in the shroud, his father was likewise an adventurer. they met adventuring, they worked together for a while, but he left them both when misha was very young. his mother was pretty beat up about it, but misha doesn't really remember him so he's not pressed about him being gone at all. he got all the red from his dad, along with his tail and fangs. i like to think he has some cat tendencies that only come out very rarely, otherwise he's just like his mom.

not sure about their ages, i think for viera reasons his mother is in her 60s. misha and his mother are very close but also very flighty, they only meet up once every now and then to catch up in passing. pretty much everything he knows or wants he learned from his mother. he wanted to become an adventurer because he looked up to her. she taught him archery and is the reason he had an alternate job to fall on when dragooning didn't work out.

he "reconnects" with his father when he's a teenager--in the sense that they are introduced and misha knows who that man is to him, but they don't really have a relationship. neither have any interest in it.

what are/were your wol/oc's parents like?

and this goes for biological AND adoptive parents! how old are they and where are they from? how did they meet? does your wol/oc get along with them? how did they affect who your wol/oc became?

after everything with nidhogg, it’s only understandable that misha does not want anything to do with a dragon’s eye. he can only stand hraesvelgr because it doesn’t whisper to him the way nidhogg does. but that doesn’t mean he wants to bear it.

he begs hraesvelgr to take his eye back after nidhogg is dead. he can’t bear to have it. and then passes out from his injuries, because hraesvelgr’s energy was the only thing keeping him going. poor thing.

the wol gets dragged around to all these international meetings but i don't know shit about politics. i'm playing games on my ds while you do your thing. don't mind me

a suitable vessel. a lingering thought in the night.

it's my headcanon that the reason misha was able to harness the eye of nidhogg at azys lla is because he is also an azure dragoon. i don't ascribe to being the warrior of light being enough to facilitate that. so of course, he hated it. he hated every moment of it. he became an archer to get away from all of this, and it comes right back to him in the end.

when they reunite with thancred, alphinaud says a little bit too much and mentions two azure dragoons. so the cat's out of the bag.

thancred now finally has another piece of the puzzle. another clue as to why misha disappeared and became an archer. but even though he'll acknowledge it now, he refuses to elaborate. on the eye. on its effect on him. on how much it scares him. so all they get is this. little moments in the middle of the night when misha is too tired to stop the words from coming out of his mouth.

thancred will understand. eventually.

damaged so severely. hastily repaired and resurrected. disoriented. barely there. still processing what's happened to him.

pushed forward only by hydaelyn's influence and protection. blocking out the pain. her power surging through his body.

and when the ascian is dead the effect lingers, but for how long? enough to get thancred out. enough to reconnect with the scions. not much longer.

i have. a lot of thoughts about hydaelyn. and the echo. i won't call them theories because i have been Spoiled and i know that my theorizing was spot on. but it has changed how i view a lot of the early stuff. and the scions. and how earnest our cause truly is.
