so one of my best friends recently had twin daughters and I was over at her place the other day helping her out, and I was sitting beside her on the couch, rocking one of her girls to sleep and staring dreamily off in the distance

and I guess this was notable to her because usually I never freakin shut up so she turns to me and so sweetly and earnestly asks “what are you thinking about?”

and obviously I can’t tell her the truth so I just stay silent, but as a guilty smile slowly spreads over my face, she just SIGHS and goes “is it Neopets?”

My boyfriends childhood favorite neopet is the eyrie and he has always felt robbed that there is almost no Eyrie merch. They never made plushies of one, not even the little mcdonalds ones, and a lot of the merch there is just uses Default Pose Eyrie.

Well i ordered the most questionable purchase ive ever made (listen i had a coupon!! Ihave bad reactions to coffee sometimes id like an alternative!!! ......i also really wanted the slushie cup 😭)

And incredibly it comes with BESPOKE eyrie art!!!!

Oh. But in order to open the thing you have to completely decapitate it LMAO 💔

To be fair the drama is half over Neopets elite shitting and farting over being slightly less insanely rich which has been a running theme for the past few months as items previously unavailable were released upon the common masses............and the other half is conspiracy theories over Neopets Pea Insider Collusion. You heard me.

But giving context for that debacle would be too long so heres this instead

Neopets discourse is always funny to me because whenever drama starts up 90% of the time it's over something that's just objectively really silly

For example, right now there's neo-billionaires threatening to quit the site over a rare item being released, which wouldn't be funny except the item in question is a tiny pea wearing a Santa hat

Trying to catch my partner up on Neopets lore is proving difficult with only the screenshots I have of funny dialogue from 2012 forward
